Amarilis , thats a 3 year old ship design, it was created pre-R-mining back then you didnt needed cargo at all

I love the R-Mining so much - and the trading too. But it is hard to get decent cargo while provide good manoeuvrability, shields .... So keep your work up. I would love to see it. Meanwhile I paste two Dreadnoughts (or equal LoneStar-Builds) with the cargo in the middle to see how it fits.

Thanks for the heads-up on Constellation Aeronautics. And for open-sourcing your creations. I'll definitely give it a look and see what's possible. Going to test the refitted Oncillia in the meantime since her stats and cargo hold turned out well.

i sorta "open sourced" most of my builds, also if you need customized ships look up for "constellation aeronautics" you will find a collection of ships template parts allowing you to build your very own modular ship based on what you need in less than a few minutes , and they look much better since the scale is bigger and they got much more details in them

I'm actually working on a refitted edition that has massive cargo space, and is specifically geared towards R-mining (both turrets and fighters). If I'm happy enough with the end result and you don't mind, I can post it to the Workshop and you can add it to your collection as an alternate miner for your line.

at the time it was created, mining required no cargo , this is a very old ship design but its easy to modify by swapping internal modules

Too bad this has no cargo hold - it would be an amazing ship with one. Without one the use of R-mining and salvage turrets (and fighters) is impossible, so efficiency is much lower than it could be.

Consider this my request for a version of this with a large cargo hold built in, and perhaps some additional space (as internal framework) for other systems.

This ship is amazing. I've been having an issue towards the mid/central galaxy where most of the mining carrier designs were simply too weak to handle the enemy ships. This is a great in between where ship can last long enough under fire to be rescued by a nearby ship or simply run away from combat. Handles well, great hangar space and production capabilities! Thanks for this ship and all your other amazing designs!

Hi, Love this ship. I have four going now (Two miners, Two salvagers). I added some cargo hold for the salvage ships.(You never know when they can scoop some cargo of those wrecks).
This game wouldn't be the same without all those great ships made by people like you.

i build in modules, i start with smaller parts and then save the template for reuse, sometimes i even use other parts from other ships as well when its fitting, i also start with the internal blocks first and do the exterior in the end

of course , like all other ships i build, i also use them personally in multiplayer, and eventually i release an update containing tweaks and adjustments after a week

yeah 120 is indeed for size 1 but all my ships are built on the 0.25 scale, meaning if you want to increase the number of slots you can scale them up to 1.0 without them looking weird :D as for the production vs maneuvrability, its not a combat oriented ship, the maneuvrability and braking is mostly so if you put captain in theses you want to make sure they dont crash around and bump into each others, personally, i dont use mining turrets on mine and i let it mine exclusively with fighters while safely parked next to my stations or combat ships, even if you use bigger fighters , you can archieve great results with smaller squads

I really like this hull. She really looks like an industrial ship, and the detailing is better than I ever manage.

Your math is a bit off on the hangar capacity (121 assumes size 1 fighters 600 max capacity would get you 120 size 5, etc), and I think you'd find you're happier with less production per second and more power generation, braking thrust and maneuvering.
