@mace_palframan - As the SFO team has not yet made a formal release, no. Not yet. I like SFO a lot, but not enough to chase the dragon having to update my mod every week to keep up with the work they're doing on their beta branch :).

any thoughts of including a new unit limit increase for rune forges t4 and t5?

i got this idea from the thunderbarge mod:

Unit limit: +1 thunderbarge

this is on the t5 engineering building, something similar could be on the t4/t5 rune building, possibly on karrak 8 peecks ancestor holds building.

It's lovely to see these. Great work. In the lore, Nagashizzar, too, had Golems of bone who served the same purpose as the dwarven ones.

I love the idea of runegolems, but i feel like they move too much. Compared to tomb king constructs that dont move i thing golems shouldnt too. But his is just my opinion. Love the mod, great job:steamthumbsup:.

Gonna have to nix the Thorek bonus for Rune Golems. While i can implement one, it will double the overall complexity of my mod to do so - which is bad design philosophy. Keeping the mod simple helps with compatibility and longevity.

Llama is it possible to give rune golems special benefits when they are in thorek faction? something cool for us lol? and i wanna thank you for keeping this amazing mod active for so damn long even to this day its very much needed sadly even while having the grandrune lord here we need this mod and its more important then ever :steamhappy: cant imagine a thorek playthrough without this.

Thanks for keeping me appraised of these updates fellas. Looks like Thorek doesn't use any different tables or unit buildings than the core Dwarf faction, so no update is needed to allow him access to these units. I'll release an update shortly to smooth over the date conflict.

i'm agree with you, thorek but no golems for dwarf..it's sad (if thorek didn't bring golems to dwarf...will we see some golems in the future? plz!!)

To be fair i do have a bunch of other mods enabled, no overhaul like SFO though, I'll just have to take a look and check what might be interfering. Thanks for the info though, at least i know it's something i might be able to resolve!

@Praise Pepsi Max - That's a new one on me. I just checked and it seems to be working fine for me with no other mods selected save this one.

Have you tried disabling any other mods you have other than this one to confirm if there might be a conflict? Keep in mind, this mod is not designed to work with SFO. I have a separate package with this unit included for that conversion.

Hey love this mod, have used it before in the past but now having issues. The units show in the recruitment panel but always greyed out with text saying i need to build more buildings or have reached the cap. I dont have any recruited and have plenty of the buildings needed too. Any tips?

First, given these strengths, Dwarves don't need large units. Just double layer basic shield infantry and infantry with great weapons to mash up any chariots or pump wagons with ease. Second, this gives dwarves a specific playstyle that centers around their lack of big units. You sit on a hill, and you blast the enemy until they reach your chosen killing field. Dwarves are not meant to be mobile, which is why my Rune Golems are a slight departure from this norm. I wouldn't call this an error by CA, it's a deliberate choice to keep different cultures fresh. Otherwise Dwarves would play too similarly to Empire, which would cheapen both experiences. At least that's how I see it.

@Winterwolf - I'm not actively making new units at this time since I've moved onto other projects, but I appreciate your enthusiasm!

@KingoftheWoods - Dwarves are specifically not given many large units for balance reasons. There's a reason why the core game will likely never have Dwarven Juggernauts or hewers, or barges in it. Dwarves get some of the best artillery and ranged units in the game. They are a powder-race which is meant to solidly protect their high damage units with heavily armored but expensive infantry equipped with charge defense.

I like that you've given the dawi something i think they needed but was wondering if you had plans to expand on your creations? Something i read caught my interest. If you're interested in expanding the dawi.

@WinterWolf I've used it before, yes. But I do not keep my mod updated to accommodate other creators' mods unless they are very big overhauls like SFO or Radious. That's just way too much work.

I can give you advice on how to patch it yourself if you are having problems.

I'm not a fan of unit mods usually, but I checked this one out of curiosity and I must say that I'm impressed. The unit looks good, seems balanced and fits the roster well. The Dwarfs really need sth to keep chariots and big monsters in check besides ranged firepower and this unit is the answer. I did some testing in custom battles, doesn't feel OP at all. My only nitpick is about the hit sounds. There is not enough oomph here.

I guess that the AI can build this unit? I noticed a discussion about the limits, but I didn't see any tooltips in the campaign. How are limits calculated? I think that it would be a good idea to gave a base limit of sth like 4 and then give +1 for each lvl-5 Runeforge built.

@Blade - Yes, this mod is included with my Sons of Grimnir compilations. I had several requests to break them out from the larger mods because some players don't like additional slayer units on the dwarven roster.

I'm not likely going to add in any Dwarf cavalry, as there are other mods which try to fill this niche. and being a modder myself, I know better than to try and take over someone else's work :) So you'll have to wait for SorcererSupreme to update his mod, or try out the Dwarven Rollers in the "Stronger Dwarf" mod.

@Gideon1473 - I just tested this mod with both the Stronger Dwarf and Dwarf Cavalry unit mods, and they seemed to work fine. Dwarf Cavalry is out of date and doesn't seem to be functioning appropriately with all factions, but were ultimately accessible - even in the campaign.

I did a cursory check and our unique unitIDs are distinct enough not to conflict with one another, so I'm not seeing a particular reason why this mod wouldn't work with the other two enabled. So I'm guessing there is another mod you are using which is causing the conflict.

Keep in mind this particular mod is not designed to be used with Radious or SFO. I have this unit rolled into a compilation mod to be used with either of those overhauls since large mods such as those often change building names and faction IDs.

I have multiple mods with new dwarf units but this is the only one not working. I'll try later to reboot with just this one enabled but I'm wondering if anyone else tried it recently alongside other dwarf packs like stronger dwarf and dwarf cavalry

@Doomtrack - Yes. They are generally specced to benefit from the same skills as Hammerers. I didn't modify the red-line skill text to avoid conflicts with other mods.

@Fargus404 There is a built-in limit on the number of golem units you can support for story and balance reasons. Other modders have made some "Limit breaker" mods which allow you to support more than 8 units at once, and you can also download my larger unit pack to add the Runegolem Hurlers to your roster.

If you are feeling adventurous (which is how I got into TWWH2 modding) you can download Pack File Manager and find the table/value to modify yourself to increase this limit :)
