awww i love spells tho... definitly test it. cant wait for this map to be in scream fortress. would honestly work as a good zombie infection map too tho.

Nope, I feel like a lot of the spells play better in open arenas, and steel is more closed-in. I might test it in the future though

Progress update, the visuals and modern cp_steel changes are 100% complete, and the map logic stuff is mostly done. Hopefully I'll have it updated by the end of this week.

Thanks! I'm working on a remaster right now, featuring minor improvements to pretty much everything, bug fixes, the recent additions/fixes to cp_steel, as well as other spooky plans.

This map looks fantastic! The best halloween makeover I've seen a map get yet. I would love to see this make it to Scream Fortress!

Maybe the skeletons could be fixed now that vscript is already implemented in the core game, you don't need plugins to run it on servers anymore

And by the way, you guys dont have to do what he said in the description to get the skeletons to move. Just type nav_generate in the console while playing the map and after you do it, your game will freeze like crazy for some seconds, and after that, the server will restart to allow the skeletons to move. This useful command also does the same thing for your bots that dont move on certain maps. But just a heads up: even after you type this command on a player destruction map, your bots will still never move and the only 2 classes that would be moving are both sniper and spy

The creator of the regular cp_steel was steam user FLOOR_MASTER (aka the popular ancient tf2 youtuber TEAMROOMBA)
I really hope someday he can end his 13 year break from tf2 and make more videos

I don't know if you're still updating this map, but I heard that you can use pakrat to pack the .nav file into the map itself, no need for separate files. Other than that, great map!

I would've personally named it "Greed" because of how some people like to go straight for the final point, but this is fine.

I've had it tested on the TF2Maps server a number of times, there's where most of the feedback comes from. At some point, I'll add it back.

Nice, I'll be sure to check it out and let you know if anything else needs "fixing." Also I was wondering something... Have you ever tried putting your map to be tested by the TF2Maps discord? They basically allow you to add it to the queue and let other players test it out to give feedback on what could be different and what should stay the same instead of having 1 guy do it (not that I feel like it's my job to do this or anything, I just like helping people with their maps in my spare time).

All of the original gameplay space from steel was preserved, so there shouldn't be anything in that regard that's missing. I've also added a few minor additions of my own (some rocket jumping or running around as scout should be able to find them pretty quickly), but they don't really change the flow that much because steel is already so good and I knew little about layouts when I started in 2016. I still can't say I see how it is barren, especially the outdoors, though I do agree some indoor areas are a bit plain with the blank plaster walls and whatnot. I will probably spruce up the manor interior a little in the next update.

Awesome, glad to hear a response addressing the issue! I just noticed the lack of detail when I was wandering around the map and noticed that it looked a bit barren. I appreciate you taking the time to let me (and everyone else) know about the state of the map's development. But one more thing... My point is that I think the reason people complained was because of how those details fit into those specific areas and like in the original cp_steel map there were all kinds of little inaccessible little alcoves that you couldn't reach unless you captured like let's say when you capture D a large gate at A would open up extending a crane arm out allowing BLU to have a shortcut when attempting to capture E. I hope this helps a bit in the development and I REALLY wanna see this map in an official casual server one day :D

I think you might be the first person to ever say that! I've actually had some people complain about visual noise and detail excess in some areas. Anyway, stay tuned, the map will receive an update at some point this month.

How did I not see this? Though if I'm being honest some parts of the map seem to be lacking a lot of detail. I don't know how but all I know is it feels a bit barren to me... any reason for why there isn't as much detail compared to other maps?

Uuuh, not really. Making a completed map takes an incredible amount of time unless you dedicate a massive part of your own to it, I started this in Sept. 2016. However, actually starting isn't that hard. The best person who can realise your idea is yourself, I'd recommend having a look at Tf2maps.net for all the info you could possibly desire. That being said, I am curious what your idea is!

You didn't. YOU DID. You turned one of my favorite maps, "cp_steel" and turned it into a Halloween map "cp_steel_event". I applaud you sir. Great work. Will there be any bosses or ghosts?
