It is intended behavior, to prevent Burgundy from surviving past its historical expiration date through just such an unlikely chain of events. In the future I suppose I could add a command to remove all of Burgundies cores after its demise, to prevent unnecessary releases, but it not a high priority at the moment.

Yes. I've actually updated it so it can work with any mod that does alter the FlavorBUR.txt file; by adding another event file that will ensure the event takes place.
