As for difficulty? Honestly, its an insane learning curve and you need multiple free-to-use applications, and a general understanding of valves textures and models. Every mod I made was insanely self taught and using out of date guides, but once you get the hang of it its really fun, and you can shit out whatever the fuck you want. Not kidding you.
