It should work with Gathering Storm now. I updated it yesterday.

I can't get it to work either on it's own or with other mods, I've directly modded the files now tho, so a moot point. Re: Shoottothrills comment, the lack of barb camps etc is a vanilla issue. Not 100% on duplication of the bug, seems to occur more on large/huge maps than smaller on various era speeds.

I haven't experienced that in testing. Are you using any other mods?
ShootToThrill 18 Mar, 2019 @ 4:52pm
Anybody not getting barbarian spawns at all when using this mod?
Martin 5 Mar, 2019 @ 4:08am
Doesn't work with GS at all.

It's working now.

I had already removed all other custom mods, but this time I disabled both expansions (R&F and GS) and went back to vanilla. Re-enabled No Barbarian XP Cap mod, started new game, verified it worked. Re-enabled R&F expansion, started new game, verified it worked. Re-enabled GS expansion, started new game, and verified... it worked.

Sooo, I'll guess I'll just leave this here in the off chance it may help someone out. Assuming I'm not just going crazy.

Hmmm... Weird, ok, I'm now able to start a new game using the Gathering Storm ruleset with the mod enabled, but it doesn't work. Units only get +1 XP after their first promotion. Is this just me, also?

It is working fine for me .

Just wanted to point out that if you do check the "ignore warning" checkbox and re-enable the mod, it disables the Gathering Storm expansion -- that is, you wont be able to start a new game using the Gathering Storm ruleset.

You can still play Standard and Rise and Fall rulesets with the mod enabled, however, just not Gathering Storm.

Good to know. I'll hopefully get some time to update it soon.

Seems to work if you check the ignore warning checkbox and enable the mod

@Charlemagne This is true. It's something I've been meaning to look into, but haven't got around to yet. Thanks for reminding me about it.

It works, but... Now every combat with barbarians gives 8 XP. Normally you would get between 3-8. Units zoom through levels too fast.

Working as of 2/26

Great mod
RavynD 16 Feb, 2018 @ 5:49pm
Tested and can confirm it does work
n3ctaris 13 Feb, 2018 @ 12:56pm
Seconded tom-116... RF compatible?
RavynD 12 Feb, 2018 @ 12:34pm
Does this still work with R&F?

Works great for me! I'm so glad you did this because the other one never seemed to work! Thanks thanks!

If you press escape during the game, is the mod listed at the bottom of the menu window that pops up?
jojobe 14 Nov, 2017 @ 2:45pm
it still only shows 1 xp when i kill them.

@TearsInRain: Aw, dang

Okay, apart from having a crappier picture, my version also uses less code. Mine changes just one database entry, that version changes two. Mine works without that second change, so I'm not sure why the other one changes it.

But really, I'd have used that other version instead of making this one if I'd found it. I didn't notice it when I searched the workshop, so I made my own. They can now happily coexist.

Don't try using both. You won't get double XP.

It's different because it has a worse icon.

@TearsINrAIN: OK, thanks.

After gaining one promotion, combat with barbarians is capped, rewarding only 1 XP per combat.
JEELEN 8 Nov, 2017 @ 1:38pm
I'm not sure what that means exactly. Soft cap?
