I think the conflict was with the tactical soldier info mod

I'm using a bunch of different mods, but with this one enabled the ambush mission starts witht he cmaera under the ground and just is stuck there, the map doesn't load. But it loads without this mod enabled. So I've obviously ot a mod conflict somewhere! Already deleted my config files

I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. It all went well.

It's been a long while since I had X2 installed, but it should be participating members in the mission.

who gets the covert mission rewards, (promotions, aim and mobility)? the new squad or the original one?

@Lux Manifestus: There's over 100+ mods in your save, short of sending your whole workshop directory "\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500", the savegame won't load.

For now I'd suggest turn off my mod, and if your save game is still crashing. You've got a long list of mods to fish through to find out which one is hanging your game.

@Lux Manifestus: Ok I see what your asking. This mod changes 2 lines, the feature your asking for It would would end being another mod. It was discussed with others and the covert system is something that would need an overhaul to make things sane across the board.

As for your bug, give me a link to the savegame.

Right, but as a convenience, can you make the select menu open from the resistance ring window? It is a pain to decide on your soldiers (ostensibly form the reistance ring menu), go into the sodier list in the armoury, equip those soldiers, go back into the resistance ring and send them on the operation. If the eqipment (squad) selector could just open automatically after choosing the operation soldiers, that might be a huge convenience. I guess the purpose of your mod is to correct any mistakes the game makes to the loadout but perhaps it could be employed to add a great convenience to the game. Would that mean opening the squad selector twice? Maybe, I don't know. What do you think? Also, the mod was not working for me last night. The squad selector opens up but when the mission loads in, all that appears is a portion of the sewer map and the game is unresponsive.

@Lux Manifestus: What your describing is what this mod already does with the Ambush event trigger. #1 commit soldiers to mission + their gear. #2 wait for ambush and tweak their gear before the mission or wait for covert mission completion trigger to have soldiers and their gear returned to soldier pool.

If your trying to swap out soldiers after you've commited them to the covert mission there is no good way of doing that prior to the ambush or covert mission completion events.

Without an event trigger. The idea being that you commit the troops and the gear to the covert op, which become unavailable to other soldiers, and if there's an ambush then you fight with what was selected when you set off on the operation. Is that possible?

@Lux Manifestus: To clarify is this a different covert event that would normally like the ambush mission throw you straight into combat? or are you asking to get into the covert UI without an event trigger?

Would it be possible to open the squad select just after one commits to the covert operation?

Thanks for the report! ;-)
DrunKraken  [author] 15 Nov, 2017 @ 6:35pm
@sebkulu: Yep it works with your mod.
sebkulu 15 Nov, 2017 @ 7:49am
Dude, that's a cool mod :-)
Can you please tell me if it works with my "Show Enemies and Terrain on Mission Planning" ?
I assume it does, 'cause I assume you open the SquadSelect Screen?

(Subscribed by the way ;-))
