Just unlocked the mix in my second save file and it's working for me. Please, remember that you have to unlock the mix if you want to play it. It does NOT substitute the original battle theme of the Snatcher.

Running into the same issue. I have the remix set to play (and modding support), but it plays the old remix instead

Ok :) I think someone has already done it (not with this modification of course) but I cannot remember who, maybe you can ask them to help. :)

Thanks for notifying me, make sure you follow this steps:

1- Make sure you are in the modsupport version of the game (Properties -> Version -> betamodsupport)

2- The mix is in the roulette, you need luck to unlock it. If you had unlocked the original mix previously, you don't need to unlock the new mix anymore, just talk to the band and choose to play Asriel's mix.
