Ok that is really useful for testing I only tried it once and it was not as finely tuned as I would have liked so I just kind of left it alone, but recently I made an Ak skin that I want to be able to finely tune and that should help a lot. Thanks

There is a lot of testing involved. I start off with a full spectrum pallette as a base texture which I move about in workbench, then I set the color1 and color2 values and see how the base texture is affected. I don't know how to accurately mimic this in photoshop, but an approximate method I found is to set a layer filled with a colour to multiply blend mode over a base texture. Do this for two different flat colour layers (seperately on or off) to mimic color1 and color2 and see if they work. It helps if color1 and color2 are approximate in the colour wheel is it will blend between the two nicely.

This ones my favourite out of the Famas skins, your Dragon skins are one of my favourites in general. Any tips for making color changing skins? :CunningPepe:

Thanks for the answer now I can understand why you do this. I am sorry for not thinking this criticism completely threw. And I am sorry if what I write is hard to understand, since I am a self tought english speaker.

I used to work in creative agencies. Typically we would pitch 2-3 ideas; submitting only 1 can lose the job - sometime for the simple reason of a client not liking a particular colour. When it comes to gun skins I often have a favourite - and its rarely the same one that the general consensus prefers. As to propagating an idea over several models - many users like the continuity and build a collection. Some don't - I can understand both positions. If I do translate one idea to another model I make sure it is customised to that specific model rather than bash out a quick rehash. Ultimately I play by ear and make what I feel like making at a particular point in time.

glad to see people that put a lot of effort in their work. But I have to say I dont really like the fact that skin creators in general publish the same skin over and over again just with different colours.

stib0 - Thank you. I always feel like I'm not pushing a gunsmith iteration far enough if it doesnt transition as the wear progresses.

Really cool skin, I like how the color changes the more its worn out, so its always unique.
