---ANNOUNCEMENT---

I am now updating my mods again! I am reworking the projectile to be a lot more useful by removing gravity and messing with some air resistance. I will also be updating the projectile as well so it looks much better than the placeholder right now! Also recipe tweaks are being made so crafting issues will not come up.

As for anybody wondering if this works in Frackin' universe, unless you are using the base crafting anvil it probably won't. I'll see if I can make a compatibility mod to add the recipe to FU crafting tables, but that will come later.

Is their a way to spawn this gun in? I don't see it in any FU crafting station
kaboom!  [author] 27 Jun, 2019 @ 12:22pm
@Rek well glad it was sorted out then lol. It completely makes sense that something named "gravgen" would be related to a "gravity" based gun. So I don't blame you for coming here to ask about it!
Rek 27 Jun, 2019 @ 4:21am
turned out to be the familiar hoodie mod. never would've guessed.
kaboom!  [author] 26 Jun, 2019 @ 12:27pm
@Rek It never once references gravgen. It does reference "gravzone" which is the projectile name. The projectile is adapted from the staff code that spawns pull zones. So the only spot I can think "gravgen" would be created is deep in the regular old starbound staff code.
Rek 26 Jun, 2019 @ 2:03am
does this mod ever reference something called a gravgen? if so, it's crashing my game whenever i use the wiring station
Slime In A Box 14 Aug, 2018 @ 9:50pm
I think it would be better if the projectile were contable (kind of like staffs that spawn orbs)
SkullKidDanzen 2 Jul, 2018 @ 10:59pm
I was expecting it could rip apart all materials and objects around it on it's own
Pancakes and Syrup 17 Feb, 2018 @ 5:56am
I use frakon as my base mod, and would make a server, but im a kid.
kaboom!  [author] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 7:31pm
Ok good to know. Thanks for checking! :D
Pancakes and Syrup 16 Feb, 2018 @ 3:44pm
it works.
boothy987 15 Feb, 2018 @ 4:31am
fair enough ill test it out any glitches i should look for since im using it same with another 14 mods and modders i gotta ask
kaboom!  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 7:12pm
Good question. I haven't used Frackin' so I can't test it. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't. Haven't tested it. However the only reason it wouldn't is if the materials and crafting changed so drastically from the base game that the tier 2 crafting anvil doesn't exist, or the materials used don't exist.
boothy987 14 Feb, 2018 @ 7:07pm
does this work with fraackin universe
kaboom!  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 1:26pm
Hmm. Maybe. I probably could do that.
GARRthePIRATE 13 Feb, 2018 @ 4:47pm
Is there any way you could take gravity off of the projectile and just have it slow to a stop even if it is in mid air?
Pancakes and Syrup 4 Jan, 2018 @ 8:34am
Mabye also some particles of the blocks nearby?
JuggerXP 27 Dec, 2017 @ 5:24am
@kaboom! Heh, alright. Thanks for appreciation)
kaboom!  [author] 26 Dec, 2017 @ 7:22pm
Oh boy, ehm.. they might have that in the lua scripting somehwere, but otherwise I would have to make an enitrely new projectile base script, and then copy over the stuff that makes the gravity work, then I would have to script the projectile to use that script. But I don't even know if the water physics can even be moved like that in the game xD Honestly It might take a lot of work could be done but I don't have enough lua knowledge yet to be able to implement it properly. Cool idea though!
JuggerXP 26 Dec, 2017 @ 5:08am
Nice weapon mod!

Also, would it be possible to make the projectile enforce liquids physics (like when it passes over the liquid or goes right through the surface)? :3
Pancakes and Syrup 3 Dec, 2017 @ 8:34am
cool.
kaboom!  [author] 3 Dec, 2017 @ 8:33am
I made this gun because I saw people were asking about one similar to it online and thought I could fill the niche. Especially because I liked the idea too :D

Backstory wise, nothing much. This gun is way too out there for me to even begin to describe how it would work. though I suppose given time I could come up with a sufficient way of doing it. Once again, the gun is made jjust to look cool and provide a cool service. Nothing more than that I suppose.
Pancakes and Syrup 3 Dec, 2017 @ 8:27am
Wow... Zarya's gun upside down? that would be hard to hold... so whats the backstory to this wepon or is it just something you made cuz you were bord
kaboom!  [author] 28 Nov, 2017 @ 6:22pm
I'm unfamiliar with that game, and the gun, but I guess you might be right.

Though a little tid-bit is that the inspiration for this gun is basically Zarya's gun upside down from Blizzard's Overwatch :P
Zyguard 28 Nov, 2017 @ 12:39am
Looks like that gun from a game on Xbox called Area-51
Ergast 26 Nov, 2017 @ 11:38am
Thanks, that helps a lot for people like me, with a ton of mods XD
kaboom!  [author] 24 Nov, 2017 @ 8:47pm
I've got a pistol and assault rifle already coded, textured and fully working but unreleased. I'm working on some other weapons and will be releasing them in the form of a huge weapon pack complete with it's own crafting table :) besides that I will continue to release mods over time in this format as single weapons that can be used in the vanilla game, in case people only want specific weapons.
Ergast 24 Nov, 2017 @ 7:43pm
Your weapons are beautiful! Would it be posible for you to do a compilation? If not now, when you have more mods done?
kaboom!  [author] 24 Nov, 2017 @ 4:35pm
Thanks, I'm already developing a revamp for the visuals and sounds. The projectile will look as nice as I can make it and the sounds will be all spacey and such.
Bat 24 Nov, 2017 @ 4:18pm
I've always been fascinated by the idea of gravity wells as well as unique forms of mobility; even if you don't make any changes to this already beautiful weapon, I'm probably still going to end up trying to master swinging across a ravine with it. This weapon is an absolutely beautiful concept.
kaboom!  [author] 24 Nov, 2017 @ 4:12pm
@Bat - Potentially. It would be difficult to map a projectile to a key like that unless I turned the weapon into a staff of somekind. (Though it would only be a little lua scripting) what I could do is make it so the projectile lasts for nearly 30 seconds, or dissolves when you fire another. But this is primarily a weapon and creating the perfect gravity well for jumping would be slightly annoying to get quite right. That being said it does give me the idea of a "Gravity Grappling hook" or something like that. I'll add it to the list of future ideas and such :)
Bat 24 Nov, 2017 @ 4:08pm
So I have no idea about modding in any sense of the word, but would it maybe be possible to make it so that the projectile only disappears on a button press, such that one could potentially use the well to cross gaps easier without worrying about it exploding?
kaboom!  [author] 23 Nov, 2017 @ 8:10am
Yup that's the idea ThunderPig. it's fun to use and looks cool at least. I'm tweaking it to make the projectile look alot better but it'sreally just something that sucks things up and kills them. But it canalso be used for gathering items I suppose.
CrikeyMikey 22 Nov, 2017 @ 11:14pm
so its basically a gun that shoots a tiny vacuum ball
kaboom!  [author] 22 Nov, 2017 @ 9:47pm
Yeah I'll take a look at it.
Aeon 22 Nov, 2017 @ 8:50pm
that would be cool.
kaboom!  [author] 22 Nov, 2017 @ 6:44pm
Repel? I could add a repel as a second ability if you wanted. That's a good idea.
Aeon 22 Nov, 2017 @ 6:26pm
repell?
