Also, you don't take damage, nor does it seem to count towards your 'hits taken' score (I don't know if that information is helpful in solving it or not, but here it is anyway)
Perhaps, since the ghost also disappears when looking through a telescope, the mod recognises the emote wheel as a similar menu?

...but it needs tweaking. The ghost moves too fast to effectively outrun (it also seems to move faster if you try to use sprint shoes) and it can and will cut you off.

TLDR: Overall, I enjoy the concept but it needs better execution to make it fun, at least to me.
*[Also deaths shouldn't count as damage taken for the medal system if it restarts you at the beginning of the level, it forces you to go back to the hub just to try again for perfects] (Perhaps an option could be asked after levels with checkpoints to start over but that's asking for a lot)

But he also changes his speed when you use the Sprint Hat to just a bit faster than your sprinting, which is bad.

After use, the ghost speeds up to chase the player at an impossible rate.
Neat concept, but just a little buggy.
He will also go faster if you are using sprint or the scooter. Otherwise I don't know why he would decide to speed up like that. The distance clamp doesn't technically speed him up, it just tugs him along, like he's on a rope.
Also yeah, it helps to have a route planned when attempting The Golden Vault. I found the umbrella springs really helpful.
One stunlocking I was referring to was when he hit me & then literally spawned insided of me for an additional hit although I was playing a huge mod map at the time so I figured it's probably a glitch but thought I should mention it. The other was when he knocked me off a high ledge & then hit me again on the way down. Somehow. Again though, huge mod map.
Sometimes though, I'll dash like 30 feet away from him & he'll suddenly fly into me at turbo speed. Maybe, it's because he's still matching the speed I was going a moment ago?
My problem in The Golden Vault was mostly that I didn't have time to find anything but also that I could almost never get back up if I fell to a low part of the level.
The ghost's maximum distance limit is also 500, so he'll be dragged along with you if you go very fast. His actual speed is 410 (Hat Kid's is 400) so you don't actually need to dive constantly, just when you need a burst of distance. He also doesn't care about the Time Stop hat, since he matches your timescale.
As for Barrel Battle, it gets less tedious if you practice jumping over the ghost, but it's definitely one of the more annoying levels. Train Rush is very tricky towards the end, but possible. I didn't have too much trouble with Golden Vault, so I cant speak on that.
