Okay, maybe the fact of a horse... attacking a tower or dragon, isn't quite "realistic".
But ALSO, is not realistic of BEEN ATTACKED... and staying still, doing nothing. What are they (the horses), mindless... vehicles?!
Captain Fabulous [P.W.D] 24 Aug, 2016 @ 11:24am
doe it work with follower hores?

@☠P볕nixQueen🎃BlockAllFuckBoys☣ I just tested it, and the mod is still working as it should. You need to check for conflicting mods (i.e., other horse modifications) or change your mod load order.
I would love to say this worked, but instead of simply defending itself when attacked and then running to battle with me, horse goes straight for any danger nearby, attacking or Not attacking me or any followers. I subscribed to this, and then my horse pursued unprovoked combat after i parked it, any thoughts on this??? im definitely unsubscribing but i would like the author to know this experience, maybe fix it?
Aeonick  [author] 25 Jul, 2015 @ 12:16am
@Khogn They may not be compatible. You might try changing the load order for the 2 mods.
Khogn 24 Jul, 2015 @ 4:36am
I have horse armor mod and my Frost attacked a bunch of enemies, so it does not work. Not together at least.

*Confirmed* This mod doesnt seem to conflict with horse armor mods.
Yung Ducky 23 May, 2014 @ 12:41pm
Does this work with any Horse Armor mods?
Krajacek 20 Nov, 2013 @ 7:32pm
this is a nice idea it gets annoying when the horses attack, though I set them to essential anyway
Krajacek 20 Nov, 2013 @ 7:31pm
hi s7o, I would try this but, does it work with horses you use the "setownership" on horses that normally arent yours? ie stolen, or wandering ones etc ? =)
Kristoffer 13 Nov, 2013 @ 10:27am
Much needed, thanks :D

I LOVE YOU (not in a weird way)

Thank you! I was wildly irritated that all the horses running to battle and die or flee away, and then look for them like a fool. I changed the speed of all the horses in the 150 and renamed them in Russian. Thank you again! From Russia with love!
Trogdor 24 Oct, 2012 @ 8:46pm
Hello, if the author is still here, can you explain exactly what you did to make your horses oblivious? I'm trying to make it work with 'Amazing Follower Tweaks' but even though I have HIC lower in the load order, my horses are still running all over the place. I tried setting their confidence to 0 and that didn't seem to make any difference. Halp?
BlitzBob NoPants 4 Sep, 2012 @ 3:39am
"prios: to make sure you're actually targeting the horse and not some non-actor bit of scenery/armor/whatever."

Lol, I can see the fence next to the whiterun stables running away during a fight already... xD
Smace 16 Aug, 2012 @ 2:24pm
Does this mod work with the Dawnguard dlc?
PatMoxx 8 Aug, 2012 @ 9:29am
Horses still run away from owner too
PatMoxx 2 Aug, 2012 @ 12:36pm
It astarted attacking people again even while i have the mod installed
Prios 26 Jun, 2012 @ 8:21pm
@Cynick - the problem with setting a horse's confidence to "cowardly" in the toolkit is that this only applies when the horse is first spawned . Horses will still have a confidence value of 1 ("cautious") in existing save games, which is the vanilla starting value for all horses. The same is true of the "assistance" value, and of many other values (including, more obviously, values such as one-handed skill, light armor skill, mood, paralysis status, et cetera).

@all - To make a horse cowardly (confidence 0) in-game, open the console with the ~ key, select the horse by clicking it, and type "setav confidence 0". Use "getav confidence" before and after to make sure you're actually targeting the horse and not some non-actor bit of scenery/armor/whatever.
An actor with a confidence of 0 will flee from hostiles under all circumstances.

Hey, good mod and I've been using it for a while. I think I should mention though, that after using it for a very long time I discovered that it was causing several hostile enemies to not engage in combat with me. Instead they just stood there and let me kill them. These included Morokei, Sigdis Gauldurson, and Sulla Trebatius at the end of the Alftand dungeon, to name a few. After disabling this mod, the fight with Sigdis proceeded normally (I haven't tested the others I mentioned). I hope this helps somehow, as it took me quite a while to figure out that this mod was causing that issue for me. For the record, my intentions are purely constructive here. This mod has been a big help in the endeavor of owning a horse in Skyrim. :)
Morbidpie 17 Jun, 2012 @ 3:21pm
I love this mod it makes horses so much easier to manage

Melos 13 Jun, 2012 @ 6:43pm
can you make this work for the demonic horse mod
warlordblak 28 May, 2012 @ 5:30pm
this mod solves my issue with my horse always running into battle. Some reason it deleted my horse armor, but I moved this mod above the horse armor load list and fixed it. Works like a charm. thanks.
Arkkan 26 May, 2012 @ 5:02am
my nerves and me thank you!
Lemony Lime 21 May, 2012 @ 1:10am
It'd be nice if they still ran away... just as long as they don't go very far.

Even better, have them run toward you for protection, and if they don't stop being attacked, then they run away altogether.
BlitzBob NoPants 9 Apr, 2012 @ 3:58am
Does anyone know if this works with the horse armors mod? It should since that one is just cosmetic for as far as I know but i'd still like to hear it from someone before getting the horse armor.

PS. GJ on this... much better then just making it invunerable... that really destroys the realism of the game for me.
HachiiCatt 8 Apr, 2012 @ 4:33pm
I really like using this mod, but everything targets my horse instead of me, and makes battles really simple since they're hitting an invincible horse instead of me.
BlackEye 6 Apr, 2012 @ 5:46pm
Cynick, Brave animals die fast. Great MOD makes adventuring a whole lot better. Thanks, B Coo.
spikeislander 30 Mar, 2012 @ 7:09am
Thanks for the mod.....damn horse was getting on my nerves charging into battle whilst I was busy sneaking. Brilliant.
Mr D Grim 14 Mar, 2012 @ 9:59am
with "the real shadowmere mod" do you mean your shadowmere mod? aka will this work with your shadowmere mod :P
Aeonick  [author] 14 Mar, 2012 @ 5:54am
I tried to make them flee like a deer, but it doesn't work, doing everything exactly like the deer AI, horses still attack. I'll get into creation kit and test some more soon, but like I've said before, i think it's a glitch or some hidden AI coding for horses.
Donald Trump (Hammer30) 13 Mar, 2012 @ 8:10am
Combat ? = fight Si tu fais le texte en anglais remplace le car ça fait bizarre
Aeonick  [author] 8 Mar, 2012 @ 12:22am
Tested and confirmed to work with "Deacon's Frostier Frost" mod. Excellent mod, although, I wish he hadn't added the essential flag. Description updated.

The Real Shadowmere mod apparently edits Shadowmere's combat AI in some way that nullifies this mod. They will not work together as it is. Description updated.

It would be nice if both of those mods were cosmetic only, and leave the combat and invulnerable/essential settings to the mods dedicated to it. I could easily edit those mods to include this one, but I'm not into plagiarism.
naptimenurse 5 Mar, 2012 @ 4:43pm
Works as promised for me! This was my only horse mod.
Midnette 5 Mar, 2012 @ 10:11am
The real Shadowmere, was the plugg-in called. Dosen't work out together. Just so you know! *hugs*
Midnette 5 Mar, 2012 @ 5:56am
I hope my dearie Shadowmere won't get in the way of my fire now... Again...
Thanks!
Bryanonymous 28 Feb, 2012 @ 4:46am
Exactly what I need along with essential horses. Thanks.
Aeonick  [author] 27 Feb, 2012 @ 10:41pm
Also, I've made a habit of saving whenever I get off my horse, just in case something crazy happens, but I've yet to have a single horse die since using this mod. My horse always died trying to attack baddies, and that's been eliminated.
Aeonick  [author] 27 Feb, 2012 @ 10:41pm
@Wolfy - Funny thing is, horses are set to be unaggressive and cowardly with 0 aggro radius to begin with, and setting them to also "assist no one" has absolutely no effect. So, I suspect a bug in the scripting that could only be fixxed by Bethesda. I've tried everything, like trying to make them run away from enemies like deer would. Nothing but the method used in the mod works atm.

I've considered making player horses invulnerable, but in the end decided that if i'm dumb enough to ride my horse into a dragon battle, I just get what I deserved. I look at it this way... they are domesticated horses, they've never had to defend themselves and therefore don't know how to, that's the best I can do for rationalizing it. Better than having an invincible horse tank that cannot be killed.
Nakawanga 25 Feb, 2012 @ 11:54am
Thank you SO SO much!!
Wolfy 23 Feb, 2012 @ 11:11pm
@Cynick - As for letting the horses defend themselves but not go all Rambo, is there a way to change their "detection" range? If you could turn it down to minimum... Don't know what is possible, but you see where I am going?
BATTLE BROTHER 23 Feb, 2012 @ 8:07pm
Great mod, I thank you for stopping my horse from ggoing Skyrim Rambo Mode XD
DoofMaster4000 23 Feb, 2012 @ 5:14am
Why would a horse attack anyway?
Thanks
