does anyone know if this mod can be combined with AQD vanilla ore distribution to have the ores only spawn on certain planets?
Cripsoidus 20 Jan @ 5:13pm
I like it. Need setting for delete ore spots without uranium touching.
Darian Stephens 17 Nov, 2024 @ 7:51am
@Typhoon Tech
Note that this only works for vanilla planets, and only if nothing else is overriding them.
Typhoon Tech 17 Nov, 2024 @ 7:24am
Currently broken, cobalt just spawned at 60m.
Jin 26 May, 2023 @ 4:48am
hi, i have been looking for uranium for over 8 hours and i haven't been able to find a single node do does it spawn on planets, moon and does it work with modded planets
kinngrimm 17 Mar, 2023 @ 9:29am
could we get a version where overall a lot lessore ore fields would spawn, but those that do would therefor be that much bigger?
kinngrimm 30 Jan, 2023 @ 6:32am
@Gunther there is a mod called "smooth voxels" which might be what you are looking for
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2652227853

also disabling metorites keeps the land prestine
SepticSchizo 12 Sep, 2022 @ 9:11am
Doesnt seem to work on my end, the ore spots are still visible and i found every ore at about 30-50m
Gunther Ultrabolt Novacrunch 6 May, 2022 @ 11:30pm
I absolutely LOVE the premise of this mod.

However:

"The ore spots have been removed as well to make it really hard to find something."

Not true on my end. I found my first subterranean nickle deposit 130 km below the surface... under the dark spots I've become so familiar with.

But what bothers me most ab out this game is the ugly, out of place, unrealistic surface "warts" that litter the land.

If there were a way to get rid of these surface nodes my opinion of this game would increase significantly.

@Everyone After a very long break i've fixed the mod and added Pertam and Triton inclusive the SkyTextures. The mod still produces errors because Keen renamed/changed the SkyTextures. It is currently not possible to fix these errors because when I write the right filenames to the path then there are no SkyTextures at all!
Darian Stephens 9 Dec, 2021 @ 12:22pm
Unless some new revelation has struck planet modding, you need to replace the planet definition in order to add or change ores, so any two mods trying to do that would have one overwrite the other's changes.
The Stranger 9 Dec, 2021 @ 11:57am
i second the last 2 questions
magww 30 Nov, 2021 @ 4:43am
Im using Industrial overhaul with this, do you think this would make it so their custom ores dont spawn? Cant seem to find coal.
Helmann 3 Nov, 2021 @ 3:10am
Will this mod affect custom planets downloaded from the workshop? Or will it only work on the vanilla planets?
Dr. Kevorkian 29 Sep, 2021 @ 12:38am
There is definitely something up with the Gold and Uranium spawns. There's none on Earthlike and none in the asteroids around it, yes I know Uranium isn't supposed to be on planet but it should be in the asteroids. I do have a 3k detector mod on specifically to check that this mod is working properly and it clearly isn't.
Armistice840 3 Aug, 2021 @ 1:28am
is there a way to find gold easier or what type of ores are with it?
Synka 3 Mar, 2021 @ 4:14am
Somehow this version still has orespots for me, at least on the moon
titiomm 27 Feb, 2021 @ 12:32pm
From what I understand this removes ore spots and uranium, the other two versions are: ore spot w/o uranium and ore spot w/ uranium
Teamson 14 Feb, 2021 @ 11:19am
What does this other in comparison to the non hardcore version?
fenox1 11 Feb, 2021 @ 12:59pm
does this mod work on pertam ?
Raynor 10 Jan, 2021 @ 2:32pm
All 3 mods seem to have the same description. Whats the differences?
Foxy 28 Dec, 2020 @ 4:54pm
ok so i have an 300 m ore detector installed and there is nothing at a 300 m radius, are thay just really rare to find, as i havent found any and only lived on meteorites that has crash landed because i cant find any veins

UPDATE

After a long time i've updated all versions of my mod and the issues with the black sky on Triton should be fixed.
Furthermore i've added a FAQ which covers the most asked questions.

If you encounter any problems feel free to report them here :)
mazrados 15 Nov, 2020 @ 3:32pm
@Cak I like this idea and probably will try it out.

However now play on Mars. Is there version that only makes ores less common on planets? I mean all type of ores available but much less common.

It boders me that I don't need to go anywhere to search for ores. I have several patches of each type of ore in range of several km.
Cak 15 Nov, 2020 @ 12:01am
I just made a Deep Scarce Ores with all the fancy Better Stone Ores! Check it out if you want. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2281727435
Merii 3 Oct, 2020 @ 12:45pm
This unfortunately has the pitch-black sky bug on Triton. Apparently you need to copy over the sky textures for Triton into your mod or something?
mazrados 15 Aug, 2020 @ 2:14pm
Any idea how to build drills exactly over ore?
This markers are so unaccurate.

The only solution I have in mind is built drilling construction on 2 horizontal pistons. Drill to ore level and adjust position with pistons and a lot of manual drilling.

Optionally I can put also horizontal drills. It would enable to avoid manual drilling.
MAnbat 25 Jul, 2020 @ 8:35am
no i mean the ore spawning is working but the ore spots are still there,
Ghost722nd  [author] 22 Jul, 2020 @ 11:53am
@aliop

Depends on what kind of other mods you are using. If you're using mods which add other types of ore or modify the vanilla planets then of course you will get errors. Check your modlist ;)

@Sandman

This mod only changes planets/moons not asteroids! Asteroids are different from planets and it would need another mod to change their appearance.
Sandman 15 Jul, 2020 @ 12:42pm
Сan make ore spots in asteroids smaller in size?
MAnbat 9 Jul, 2020 @ 12:00pm
so when i load the mod it gives 50 plus errors and i can still see the ore spots am i loading it wrong?
Perfacktion 29 Jun, 2020 @ 9:21pm
Perfect :) Thanks for your fast answer!
Ghost722nd  [author] 29 Jun, 2020 @ 5:30pm
Only the planets have been changed, nothing else ;)
Perfacktion 29 Jun, 2020 @ 11:47am
Short question: Is there still uranium on asteroids with this mod?
Thx for your answers!
Ghost722nd  [author] 28 Jun, 2020 @ 11:17am
UPDATE: Triton has been added and tested. Weather Effects are working like they should on all planets!
Delta4Phoenix 28 Jun, 2020 @ 4:26am
Well then, here's hope for a quick update then :D
Darian Stephens 28 Jun, 2020 @ 3:29am
Easily; that's what we did for Scarce Resources.
Delta4Phoenix 28 Jun, 2020 @ 2:09am
Stupid thought: Can't you just copy paste the Weather definitions directly from the vanilla planet generator?
UPS MAN 27 Jun, 2020 @ 1:43am
THX
Ghost722nd  [author] 26 Jun, 2020 @ 1:39pm
Keen again -.-

Yeah, seems like i've to put some work into this mod again, but don't worry, will try to do it asap ;)
Darian Stephens 26 Jun, 2020 @ 10:56am
What?
Starting a new game has nothing to do with weather working, you just need to wait for this mod to update with the weather entries included.
the zigginator 26 Jun, 2020 @ 10:05am
i imagine that means that if i started a server with this mod on it to get both this mod and weather working, id have to regenerate the map then?
Darian Stephens 26 Jun, 2020 @ 9:50am
That's because weather is defined inside the Planet Generator files, which is also where ores are determined.
Mods like this need to replace the entire Planet Generator file in order to do their changes, and thus need to be updated each time that file is.
The author seems to be reasonably active, so I'd wager an update for this will come within a week at most.
UPS MAN 26 Jun, 2020 @ 9:09am
I found an issue with the 1.195.019 Version of Se. Currently this mod is somehow blocking the automated weather generation.
steinmy.js 24 May, 2020 @ 12:23pm
wish there was a way to remove ore spots
steinmy.js 24 May, 2020 @ 12:22pm
Thanks for the info
Ghost722nd  [author] 24 May, 2020 @ 11:03am
@ [MLG] [R.I.K] Kodzaev & tenvlad

Use an ore detector mod here from the workshop just search for "ore detector range" and you can choose which one suits to your needs.

@ steinmy.js

You can add the mod even after you've created your world BUT then you would have to replace the existing planets by hand which is a bit of work. I recommend to add it right before the start!

Yeah about the ore spots, blame KeenSWH for the constant changes of the textures and settings. I kinda gave up to follow their chaos. The spots are less visible but shown in any version of my mod.
steinmy.js 23 May, 2020 @ 1:47pm
something is wrong with this mod i am still getting ore spots with the mod on in a new world
steinmy.js 23 May, 2020 @ 1:28pm
does this mod need to be loaded in when creating the world loaded it in later and the ore spots are still showing up
tenvlad 20 Apr, 2020 @ 11:26am
Hi,thanks, i was looking for a mod like this! "However, how ores can be detectable at 1000m below surface?
