@GunNut96, Grenades can't be selected with the keyboard because this mod puts them in the wrong slots. That's why they don't appear on the HUD display. You can only select grenades and ammo packs with a wheel mouse. It is possible to put grenades in the correct slot by editing this mod. I don't know why Valve never let players carry all three grenade types. That was such a limitation in the original game.

This mod hasn't been updated since 2016. I always have a weird problem when I play as Rochelle. Her first-person arms disappear when I hold a pipe bomb. I played Dead Center with this as the only mod enabled. The problem never did go away.

Keyboard inputs stopped cycling through the inventory, pressing 8 or 7 to bring up the bile, pipe, or Molotov no longer works and I have no idea why.

Hey for some reason every time I get boomer bile I drop whatever melee weapon I have and then when I go back for melee weapon I drop boomer bile. Can you fix this so I can carry both?

Alright, I have got the solution for my problem( for Left For Dead 2) where my keys for inventory starting from 5 to 0 was not responding. Rather, I would say it was binding to the commands
Key 3 for defribrillator
Key 5 for pills or shots
Key 7 for bile jar
Key 8 for molotov, and
Key 9 for pipe bomb
So, what I did was this: -
1) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg
2) Locate the folder" config"
3) right click and go to properties/ General
4) Unmark " Read only" option
5)Close it and open "config" with Notepad++(it is helpful in this problem if u have it)
6)On the 1st line it is written"unbindall"
7) Edit it as"bindall"
8)Save
9)Close everything and restart the game
10) The bindings will start working properly
Hope it is helpful to someone as I spent a lot of time searching and could not find out the solution. At last I figured it out on my own.

i tried man.. its not working, my keys from 6 to 0 are not responding to the commands.. it's wierd. my command for bile jar, which is usually 7 has been changed to 3. defib has gone to 8 instead of 3. also i m getting dual pistols and magnum at the same time? what is going on?

The folder icon on your taskbar opens Windows Explorer, or from the Start menu the "Computer" option on the right side will do the same. On the left is "Computer" with a little arrowhead next to it. If it's a clear arrowhead pointing at the word and there's nothing underneath, click it, and you'll get a black arrowhead pointing right and down at a list of drives. Same with the C: drive, then with the folder called Program Files (x86) etc all the way to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\
then click the folder called workshop, and you should get a display of alternating images and .vpk files, one of each for each mod you have subscribed.
Find the one numbered 121390861, right-click, copy, then click "addons" at the top or on the left to get to the addons folder, right-click in an empty space there and paste.
You should be able to rename the pasted file to TenSlots or whatever you fancy without breaking anything, but I haven't tried that.

thank a lot man.... i appriciate ur effort. i will definitely try this one. i am habituated with the numbers on the keyboard, but i dont know what happened. its not working anymore beyond key binding 5 as told by Bianca( thanks Bianca).

Valak, the subscription thing is a bit of a mess, adding files to a subfolder called workshop within your add-ons folders. They're all numbered, rather than named, which is annoying.
This mod is number 121390861, so if you can find that file in the folder and move it up one layer, that should make it behave like a downloaded rather than a subscribed mod.
If you don't have it, try unsub and resub, and if that doesn't work I can host it on google drive for you to download from there.
Default address of that folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop

I use the mouse wheel, it's easier and the keys don't work unless you want the first 5 items.

man.. ur 10 inventory slot is not workinn.. I tried everything... come on somebody help me with it...it was working earlier, somehow i added multi vocalization from some asshole and when unsubscribed, it all changed my configuration.... plzz.. i need help

Yeah. 6 is assigned by default to the cola bottles, and hardwired to drop them rather than pocketing them when you change to anything else, so it's best not to use that slot.

Was also wondering, which bucket would I have to use to get defibs to be only pickups? Or is there a different method in doing so?
(I.e. it drops if you try to switch weapons.)

Each weapon script has a line in it something like this:
"bucket" "0"
That designates its slot, with 1 offset so keyboard 1 selects bucket 0, keyboard 2 selects bucket 1 etc. Primary weapons are all "bucket 0" and pistols and melee weapons "bucket 1" by default. The game handles arbitrary numbers of "buckets" so you can arrange things almost however you like.

There are some restrictions:
Melee weapons are stuck in "bucket 1" whatever you do.
Ammo piles only refresh the ammo for "bucket 1" so any gun in another slot won't get a refill.
Lasers and frag/fire rounds apply to "bucket 1" as well, so with pistols in 1 you get to fire explosive Deagle bullets with a laser aim assist.
Bots get really confused trying to pick up a second pistol if the pistols aren't in "bucket 1" and will just stay in the safe room, grabbing at the pistol, until you get pinned or incap'd.
Bots will only use medkits, pills and shots that are in their usual slots.
I think the last two are because the "Do I have pills?" check and its equivalents are hard-coded to the default slo rather than reading the slot from the script and checking that.

does it activate right away cause i really didn't notice a change and when i go to pick up a defib with a med pack it gives me the defib but drops the med pack as usual is that a sign that it doesn't work for me or is there something i don't know if anybody can tell me what it might mean then i could be able to enjoy singleplayer without not knowing what to choose but in the mean time im calling this mod a dud until i find out if it's ment to be like this :steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:

If worse comes to worse, use the the scroll wheel on your mouse to go through things. BE WARNED: Sometimes it is in the order you pick things up in and NOT like the 1-11.

I hate to be the request guy, but could you make a slot mod similiar to classic Doom's setup? Or, better yet, make a tutorial on how to do it so I can just make it myself.

call me thick but i dont know if this is working right, it IS conflicting with... something in my current mods but for the most part it works as intended, the only mods i can see it conflicting with is my Vocaliser and 3rd person mods. nothing else changes the key bndings or invenory system. alas my complain it that the grenade slots dont work, the defib does and i have full faith that your mod isnt faulty, its something with my side of things, might you be able to offer assistance?

That'll happen with any two things that share the same slot, so you'll drop your rifle when you pick up a shotgun, drop your deagle when you pick up a katana, drop your pills when you pick up an adrenaline shot et cetera.
To have an smg or assault rifle and a shotgun and a scoped rifle all at the same time you'd need them assigned to different slots. Two problems with doing that:
1) Ammo piles only refill the ammo in the weapon in slot 1, so you'd have to use the other two sparingly or give them infinite reloads;
2) The bots can't handle extra slots. With this mod, they totally ignore defibs. With the "pistols and melee weapons only" mods they get horribly confused tryign to pick up second pistols. If you give each weapon its own slot (see "30 slots" mod) the bots will totally ignore most of them and only take and use the one that goes in slot 1.

Well, yeah, 0 brings up whatever's in slot 10 and then you have to use the scroll wheel to get to what's in slot 11.

Good luck actually finding the item you want in time to use it if you've got 30 things in your inventory, but you can have 30 things in your inventory.

It's one of those things that's not part of the script. Whatever's in the sixth slot is thrown when you select another item. If I put something in 6, it'll be thrown whenever you pick something else. If you want to be able to carry something with you while using your rifle, it has to be in slots 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 etc, not 6.

Not by that name. I did make fourteen, fifteen and thirty-slot mods, and I suppose the 30 could be called that, but I don't like them much. I get my inventory muddled often enough with ten.

I could put pistols into the third slot, normally a grenade and the defib in this mob, but it doesn't show ammo except in the top two slots, so it's really not that helpful.

now i KNOW its not true, i used to have one that had the pistols SMGs, and shotguns in the second slot, the usual melee weapons had their own slot, and the chainsaw had another slot its own

Unfortunately, no. I tried. They're hard-wired to that second slot. I can move the pistols to an additional off-screen slot, and give M60, grenade launcher and chainsaw their own slots too:
