Deep Scarce Resources

Have you checked your other mods to see if any issues have been reported in the comments?

For Scarce Resource, it says it only works on vanilla planets. Even if it was once a vanilla planet, it's been changed and hasn't been updated in a long time.

I think it's because the individual mods are so old; they haven't been updated in a while. Keen also has a habit of changing settings and values without announcing it.
Take, for example, the setting for the inertia tensor for rotors, etc. You now have to enable it separately in the settings when setting up a new game. But Keen hasn't mentioned this anywhere...
Darian Stephens  [author] 22 Feb, 2024 @ 2:09am
Uhh... I forget.
It needs to be loaded after, so it takes higher priority than the original Scarce Resources in order to overwrite its planet definition.
I don't quite remember which direction SE loads mods in, but I THINK it's top-down for the world editor, and bottom-up for dedicated server, but that could have changed; I haven't played SE in a couple years at this point.
emanuel.cozmanciuc 22 Feb, 2024 @ 1:25am
Sorry, can you please clarify which mod needs higher load priority? I didn't get it from the provided description... Thank you

"Unlike my other Scarce Resources patch, this mod requires it, otherwise only the direct changes to planets from Scarce Resources will be applied. This must also be higher in the load order than it, in order for the Deep Ores changes to be applied."

Captain Harlock, I am having the same Issue.
Mitokandria (Tricks) 16 Jan, 2023 @ 3:55pm
Ok thank you for the reply!
Darian Stephens  [author] 15 Jan, 2023 @ 4:02pm
In general, I just kept the ore depths and deposit sizes, while using Scarce Resources' ore distribution.
Mitokandria (Tricks) 15 Jan, 2023 @ 10:52am
Scarce Resources makes Platinum only available on Mars, but Deep Ores makes Platinum only available on Moons. Does this mean Platinum does not exist in the game or does Scarce Resources win out?
Captain Harlock 23 Dec, 2022 @ 4:03am
On a friend's private server, the mod also stopped working.

We have found ores (cobalt, magnesium) on Pertam in places where they should not be according to specifications.
Captain Harlock 23 Dec, 2022 @ 4:00am
Can it be that this mod doesn't work?

I started on Triton and found iron, silicon, nickel and magnesium all at a maximum depth of 30 meters.

I thought you only find magnesium ore deposits here and then only from 100 meters or more.

Or am I confusing something???
Darian Stephens  [author] 14 Nov, 2022 @ 9:32pm
Mods adding new ores to planets are fundamentally incompatible due to how Space Engineers does planet ores.
You need a new mod to merge the ore generation.

Would this work with Industrial Overhaul - Deep Ores?
Darian Stephens  [author] 18 Jul, 2021 @ 3:35pm
It should probably work.
Just note that the Ship Trading mod has been changed so it requires Scarce Resources now, as well, because I removed the duplicate content.
ariesfighter15 18 Jul, 2021 @ 3:18am
Does this work with the "Ship Trading Enabled" Scarce Resources or just with the one you have linked above?
Darian Stephens  [author] 5 Jul, 2021 @ 9:06am
You're welcome; I'm sorry it took me so long to get to!
Grauly 4 Jul, 2021 @ 11:27pm
I can confirm, it works!
Thank you very very much for doing this!
Darian Stephens  [author] 4 Jul, 2021 @ 8:20pm
Alright, update's out!
I checked on Petram, and found some Iron quite deep in to the surface, with quite a lot of ore, so it seems to be working!
Grauly 4 Jul, 2021 @ 7:18am
Sounds great!
Darian Stephens  [author] 4 Jul, 2021 @ 6:58am
Very sorry for such a delay, but I have assigned some values to both Petram and Triton, and was prepared to upload my changes, but Space Engineers has simply refused to launch, while I've been trying periodically all day.
Hopefully, this will be the final day of waiting, and tomorrow will FINALLY bring the update!
Grauly 4 Jul, 2021 @ 6:23am
cant you look up what you did on the other planets to do Pertram with it?
(i dont know anything about SE modding so i dont know how this may or may not apply)
Darian Stephens  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 3:04pm
I was planning on that, I'm just not sure how they modified the depths, if there was some ratio to it or they just went with what seemed right.
Grauly 3 Jul, 2021 @ 2:51pm
In the description of the DeepOres Mod there are depths, maybe they can be used for that?
Darian Stephens  [author] 3 Jul, 2021 @ 2:26pm
Unfortunately.
I might just say screw it and do my own version, based on what are hopefully reasonable depths for the ores.
Grauly 3 Jul, 2021 @ 11:29am
Is Steam still acting up?
Darian Stephens  [author] 1 Jul, 2021 @ 10:54pm
For some reason, Steam is utterly refusing to redownload the original Deep Ores mod for me to reference, so this might unfortunately be delayed further until I can get Steam to cooperate.
Darian Stephens  [author] 1 Jul, 2021 @ 6:01pm
Oop, I actually forgot about this.
Grauly 1 Jul, 2021 @ 9:39am
Have you made any signifcant progress yet?
Grauly 28 Jun, 2021 @ 9:09am
That would explain everything (and mb, i did not mention that earlier).
Thank you so much for maintaining this!
Darian Stephens  [author] 28 Jun, 2021 @ 8:27am
Oh, you tested on Petram?
Yeah, this addon's a bit outdated, and doesn't include Petram (Because it didn't exist when this was last updated).
I'll take a look at updating it in a few hours, worst case tomorrow.
Grauly 28 Jun, 2021 @ 8:01am
Hi,
So I tried reversing the load order to no avail,
immedeatly found stuff at < 30m depth.
All of my trials (now and previous) were on fresh worlds, Star System Scenario and tested on Pertram.
Thanks for helping!
Darian Stephens  [author] 28 Jun, 2021 @ 7:14am
Is this a new world, or one that you've already created?
If voxels have been edited in the area (From drilling, impacts, or explosions), a certain area around the site will be saved to disk, instead of regenerating from the given parameters.

Otherwise, maybe try the load order the opposite way around? Maybe Keen reversed it, for whatever reason.
If that still fails, then I'll take a look at the files and see if anything needs updating.
Grauly 28 Jun, 2021 @ 5:09am
Hi,
i just tested it, being specific about putting it above Scarce Resources:
https://prnt.sc/179xxan
https://prnt.sc/179y9jd
https://prnt.sc/179ynip
(lets hope the links work)
It did not work as expected - i either dont know where to properly put in load order, or misread the depths of the deposits.
I hope this helps, Thanks!
Darian Stephens  [author] 28 Jun, 2021 @ 2:10am
Just to make sure you've got it right, this needs to be ABOVE Scarce Resources in the load order.
The only exception was, and I believe still is, a Dedicated Server, where the order is reversed.
Grauly 27 Jun, 2021 @ 1:16pm
Hi,
The Mod seems to be broken currently, as i can find resources at less then 30m below ground, and also deposit size does not seem to be affected. It is definetly before Scare Resources in the load order. Is there anything i can do to fix this?
Thanks!
mLJ 16 Apr, 2021 @ 3:02am
Thanks :)
Darian Stephens  [author] 16 Apr, 2021 @ 2:05am
I believe it still goes above.

I have no clue about that plugin, though, because I've never used it.
My understanding is that it just spawns asteroids and the pre-made planets around, so it shouldn't be any different.
mLJ 12 Apr, 2021 @ 4:53pm
So for singleplayer, put it aboce scarce resources? Oh and also would this work with SEworldgenPlugin V2?
Darian Stephens  [author] 12 Apr, 2021 @ 1:21pm
This requires Scarce Resources only.
Trying to load Deep Ores with it will cause problems,or at least be pointless.

For the load order, in your world's mod management menu, it must be above Scarce Resources.
If using a dedicated server, it should be below, because I believe the load order is still flipped compared to the world settings.
Magistrator 12 Apr, 2021 @ 11:46am
Hi Darian,
thanks for this one, however I am a bit confused. Could you clarify:
1) Which other MOD does this one require? The DeepOres one or the Scarce Resources one?
2) What is the exact order? This one to laod first or the other?
Thanks!

Darian Stephens  [author] 12 Apr, 2021 @ 3:31am
You shouldn't need it, given that this includes all of its changes.
Airomis 12 Apr, 2021 @ 2:36am
Do we need deep ores installed aswell?
Darian Stephens  [author] 29 Mar, 2021 @ 9:52am
It should do; I recently updated that mod to remove redundancies, since it was basically just an entire copy of Scarce Resources with the trading changes.
I don't know if this mod is up-to-date, though.
mLJ 29 Mar, 2021 @ 7:00am
Does this work if i use the ship trading scarce resources version?
Helmann 3 Sep, 2020 @ 2:36am
It must automatically load. I started a new world with just this mod and got nothing but iron and silver in asteroids. Bugger. :(
Darian Stephens  [author] 2 Sep, 2020 @ 6:34am
Technically, this is that!
If you don't install Scarce Resources alongside this mod, you'll only get the planet changes.
However, I don't know if it will be automatically loaded due to it being a requirement.
Helmann 2 Sep, 2020 @ 4:12am
Is there a Deep Scarce version that does not change asteroids?
Santibag 26 Jun, 2020 @ 5:10am
It's solved! Thank you again Darian. I don't know how much mods you maintain but I can only guess how much it may take from you. So I respect you.
Santibag 26 Jun, 2020 @ 4:58am
Thank you Darian. I'm a fan of this mod. I believe it works as intended (except ore spot visibility, as you know).

I'll test it now. :D
Darian Stephens  [author] 25 Jun, 2020 @ 4:43pm
Alright, done!
I wasn't aware anyone was using this, so let me know how it goes!
Darian Stephens  [author] 25 Jun, 2020 @ 4:30pm
You know what? It's been a while since I updated this, I can fix that.
