[UNMAINTAINED] Deep Scarce Visible Resources

For the time being, this mod will no longer be maintained.
Immediately, this means weather will not work, and looking at the previous update, Mars' atmosphere might also be broken, particularly at a distance? Not sure.

If, in the future, I learn of a way to remove ore spots again, these will resume maintenance as separate mods.
Until then, please use this mod:

(It's the same one linked at the bottom of the description)

This is based on Scarce Resources, which does exactly that.
It's listed in the description, and is a requirement for this one, which only adjusts how deep in to the ground these ores are.

does this mod put unique ores on different planets like uranium available from alien but not earth ect, If not does anyone know of such a mod?

Ugh, maybe the hotfix fixed the ability to disable ore spots, then.
The other mod's not broken anymore, I uploaded the fix.
The only issue with it is that the ore spots... I guess WERE visible.
Since it was an issue and I'd need to update one of these again anyway, I just copy+pasted the files from that mod to this one, so if you can disable ore spots again with the same method as before, that would explain this one's spots disappearing.

Still, I'd be interested to see the images to satisfy a curiosity of mine.

Hm, so Darian. I was gonna play with your No spots edition, but since you said it was broken, i figured lets get this one instead, and have intended behavior. But after zooming about a bit looking for patches I went into creative and made me a large scanner. And .. i have a ton of resources deep under without splotches! I can screenshot if you want it. But links seems to get deleted sometimes, ill upload and send if you need\want it.

Had to re-upload the mod due to my HDD crash.

I just ran into an issue that I was able to solve myself:
Turns out that mods that edit spawn rates of wolves/spiders are incompatible with mods like these, as the data for them is in the same place as ore data.
I had to make my own comparability patch for myself.
I hope this info helps others.

I think it has to do with the voxels themselves, another value that needs to be added.
If that's a custom planet with custom voxels, they probably just lack that data.
Otherwise, I'm not certain. There used to be some value you could change that removed the ore spots, which is what my other mods removing them relied on, but I think that became obsolete.

Earth, Mars and Alien - tested and works!

Can you please advice what has to be done to non-updated planets to make them work? I tried to add keys mentioned below to "Ceres" but ore spots don't show up anyway.

Okay, update uploaded! Let me know how it works.
Darian Stephens  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 6:22am
It kinda makes me wonder if you could substitute that number for something closer to the color of the actual ore... but that's for another time.
Darian Stephens  [author] 28 Apr, 2018 @ 6:15am
Oh yeah, I never uploaded that! Thanks for reminding me.
It's not quite that simple, though, since some values are different on occasion. They probably don't really matter, but it's better to have that done properly.
I should also make sure I'm forwarding the changes to Mars; they changed the atmosphere slightly to get rid of the blue effect in the core.

Ore spots are not appearing :(

I found the solution - i.e. for EarthLike add `TargetColor="#616c83" ColorInfluence="15"` to Ore definitions within OreMappings.

Please update your mod so everyone else would receive the fix. This mod is great, I'm glad to help!

Nope; it modifies the default planets directly, so it won't do anything to new planets.
