Not true. You can in fact make it work with conditional patching. I wrote an example in the forum xpath help thread [ludeon.com]. Patching is a lot more powerful that first meets the eye.
As for animals with exoskeleton and no leather: how about making them require bones instead of cloth if BoneMod is loaded? This too can be done with conditional patching.
It would be best to post questions regarding patching on the forum rather than here. It's a better interface for including sample code or attached files and more people will see it, both to answer and read the answer later.

I do wonder however if it would be possible to get wall mounts and skin rugs in the future? :)
This mod is GREAT for decoration!
I think that if I were to add animals from the animal collab project, I would make that a sepperate mod and change some of the crafting cost. iirc that mod adds more animal products such as horns. Which I would add to crafting horned animals.
