I NEED an update for this mod

Sucks that this mod isn't updated, this was exactly what I'm looking for
Radical Rust 28 Apr, 2019 @ 9:32am
This was an amazing mod. Would love to see it updated someday.

rip good mod

I'd like to see this in 1.0. I like Boreal Forests but it's annoying how the ground is just bare dirt because it doesn't grow back in time for the 10-20 days of the year it actually can.
Batleth777 13 Nov, 2018 @ 5:47pm
Update plz
Slye_Fox 24 Oct, 2018 @ 9:58am
When you get this fixed, would it be possible to add an option to allow Pines to grow in even colder temps?
Mattyboy0066 15 Sep, 2018 @ 10:57am
Alright, I'll be waiting ;P

No update just yet. The update to B19 and HugsLib_B19 unfortunately broke something low level in the code that means a quick fix update isn't(or doesn't appear to be) an option. Sadly, this means no update until I have a chance to go over the changes, of which I have little time to dedicate. I just know I'm going to kick myself for how simple it is when I find it... but until then...
Mattyboy0066 14 Sep, 2018 @ 4:19pm
does this work with B19 or is there a B19 version?
XeoNovaDan 7 Feb, 2018 @ 12:57am
There's an issue where plants will still grow, even in temperatures where they're not supposed to; non-climatised plants still have their full growth rate above 58 degrees or below 0 degrees, for example. Using default settings, reproduced with just Core, HugsLib, ModSwitch and this.

I don't have time to do more than a cursory glance through what's going on right now. As far as I can tell, lush meadow simply spawns any plants appropriate to the biome anywhere on the map rather than just at the map edges but at a slightly increased rate from the norm. This should mean that as long as they are plants that are on the climatize plants list, they should have the modified temperature ranges applied to them. By default the plants lush meadow spawns in are at 5% growth so a lot of them being around makes sense. In all honesty, until I have more time to actually look at this, I can't tell you more or offer a solution. I'll try to look more closely when I can make time.

There seems to be a problem with plants spawned by Lush Meadow not registering the lovered growth temperature. After my first one and a half years there is a bunch of trees/grass that is still at 5% growth. (Made the same comment on the other mod)

Neat! Thanks for taking time from your holiday to fix

The issue with premature plant death should be fixed, ran rice in a climate controlled farm and got it to perform as per vanilla. I had accidentally transposed two numbers in the calculation.

With the holidays I haven't been able to examine this. I hadn't seen anything in my initial testing but will hopefully be able to clean anything up soon with the limited time I will be gaining outside other obligations.

I am seeing the same issues as Tomek. With this mod (Which I love by the way) enabled some plants seem to die and die quickly at 0C. Much faster than with the mod not enabled.
Tom TK 24 Dec, 2017 @ 6:26am
I tried it afain. I listed all plants as climatized and left default mod temeratures.
It kills all my plants when its blow 0C and it kills them fast.
I guess some mapping issues?
Tom TK 24 Dec, 2017 @ 6:04am
I had same problem - rice dying off at 5C, This is not modded rice (no-GMO ;)), I left it on not climatized plant list. And dying rate was like at -11C.
I was affraid it will affect all plants so i turned mod off.
XeoNovaDan 18 Dec, 2017 @ 12:36pm
@bloder0 These are default settings and I don't use mods like VG since I find VG very unbalanced. It's early-game and there's definitely no blight or active poison ships.

Just loaded up a map with just Core, HugsLib, ModSwitch and Climatise Plants and I can confirm that rice will die at 5C. Also reproduced with potatoes. These plants only seem to die for a little while though; it gradually sorts out. Still a bit of a nuisance though.
bloder0  [author] 18 Dec, 2017 @ 12:19pm
If you changed the settings so that rice does. If you are using default climatize plants settings, rice should die at the vanilla temperatures between -2 and -10 C. If another mod adds thier own version of rice, it is possible they wrote thier own code for when it dies, which climatize plants will sometimes not override. Other vanilla things can also still kill crops, such as blight and poison.
XeoNovaDan 18 Dec, 2017 @ 5:18am
Hmm, are rice plants meant to die when temps hit 5C?
karmos 15 Dec, 2017 @ 11:34pm
Great mod. I think the current temps are a huge oversight. Thank you!
bloder0  [author] 11 Dec, 2017 @ 4:45am
The way Orassan is written, Climatize Plants won't even touch the catplants. So even though they'll appear in the list for Climatize Plants' settings, thier behavior won't change because they sidestep the code Climatize Plants taps into. Other modded plants will depend on if they use vanilla behavior(vegetable garden's snow beets which simply don't die to cold but can have thoese temperatures for growth adjusted by climatize plants) or (like orassan) write thier own.
XeoNovaDan 10 Dec, 2017 @ 12:27pm
This looks pretty good and it does make sense that cold-adapted plants should... fare better against the cold!
carewolf 10 Dec, 2017 @ 11:37am
What will happen to plants that already have non-standard temperature setings? (such as the two Orassian crops)

This sounds pretty great and I'm surprised I haven't seen this sort of mod before. I've always thought it was pretty stupid that pine trees just stopped growing during the winter in Boreal zones, inevitably resulting in them being cut down way quicker than you can ever grow them back.
