Thanks for all your work with this mod, btw. It's really nice to see the backstories I've edited actually in play :)
Question, once I've altered these backstories to be more 'fantasy medieval friendly', is there a way to share this hard work with others so they can easily include these edits in your mod?
Seriously tho, Thanks a million for this mod. I had everything loaded up and was sorting colonists for my first LOTR run and ... wtf? A Hobbit starship pilot? ... that will never do...
Cheers!
Would this be the mod I'm looking for, or should I turn to the dark side?

My original mode was 'Storybook' btw, not 'Storyteller'. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=731619656
I'll refer anyone previously using my mod over to here.
The mod is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1220862385
If you go to the Documentation folder in there, there is a text file that explains what you're supposed to do. I haven't read it yet, but based on reading the other comments if you edit the xml file in there to whatever backgrounds you want and activate the mod in the game, you should be able to implement your changes. You have to make a new game or it'll mess with your current game's background.
<title>Junge Barkeeperin</title>
but in game it is: Junge barkeeperin
another
<title>Sohn eines Viediebs</title>
==> Sohn eines viediebs
I have a saved pawn in Prepare Carefully who has the Abductee childhood background, but that background disappears and is replaced by a random other background when I load her along with her adult background, for example.
Note: Yes I'm aware of the pawn background randomization, but the actual background isn't even on the list anymore. It's removed entirely.
Switching to Lite mode has the same effect.
When I remove the mod from my load list, the old backgrounds come back, but they're mostly duped in some way with the edited versions alongside the unedited versions, but it's missing the unique backgrounds added by the mod for some reason.
This is extremely frustrating because I can't have all the backgrounds I'd like.
Is there some way I can have both new backgrounds, all the edited ones, and not remove some as well?
I don't know if I should be mad at myself for making such a stupid mistake or notepad++ for it's awful font usage. What's worse is this isn't the first time I've ever added defs to the game so I shouldn't have even made this mistake :/
At least, not yet.
It's not something I'd thought about before, but my gut feeling is that what you're asking about could probably be accomplished with some additional custom filtering. Do me a favor. Accept the friend request I'm about to send you, and then provide me with some concrete examples of exactly what you'd like to be able to do. ;)

Attempt to use string requiredWorktags to refer to field requiredWorkTags in type REB_Code.BackstoryDef; xml tags are now case-sensitive.
