Since most of the people say that it has a large health but that's all, could you speed up it's attacks a bit (or a lot)?
Honestly, the battle is not all that bad, the only problem I find is that the minions that are summoned only drop energy tanks less than half of the time. I will probably only need to up the drop rate of energy tanks on those minions and the whole thing will be much better.
2-The Big Ape boss has a similar AI, but can be predicted by the two monitors (Not like anyone even pays attention to them), so removing them would increase difficulty.
3-Ruin- It's already the hardest boss with Vanilla weapons, I guess make the laser blast instakill and there.
4- Swansong- I used lots of mods in order to beat it, I pretty much raged.
Cause now I can use the mining laser once before it even has a chance to even start up.
Cause as it stands you can hit all four switches then head to the laser to begin the battle with only having to do it two more times.
This will force you to start the battle, as I think, the devs wanted it to be.
When I say "line of sight" I am referring to how far the monster can see. The problem originally was that the Erchius Horror could not see players who stayed close too the walls because the player was not within this line of sight. The Mod makes it so that the Erchius Horror can a little further thus negating the possibility of throwing a few levers before the battle actually starts.
The thing that kept that Shockhopper difficult was that it was really tricky to dodge that attack.
Performance issues might only be for the graphics and (maybe) the damage calculations.
Ah so you mean that you are already playing with the monocrome lighting. It was not a question of weather you knew about the feature or not but if you are using it. And do not worry, it is okay to let me know that you have been using it.
I remember having a problem similar to yours back when I was using a less powerful computer. The game would lag as the boss shot its lasers. The game would have difficulty keeping up with how much damage you should be taking, and you would end up taking a huge amount of damage. I will look into ways of optimizing that battle as I experiment with the sight problem. Two things I can suggest you do for now is:
1. Turn on monocrome lighting (games with colorful lighting are a big preformance hit, and having those bright purple lasers flashing through the dark is going to break some computers.)
2. It may help if you turn off the sound effects in the game options (each of those four lasers are making a loud buzzing noise, I think they also make noise when they come into contact with blocks)
I might be able to stop this ability to cheat by simply by increaseing the boss' field of veiw by a handful of blocks. Of corse the Erchius Horror is different than most bosses so I may have to do something more complicated.
This mod does look interesting, though.
