From the secret trick. Thanks for the awesome mod!
for starbound log error
it helps clear out villages of their inventory items quickly

You could maybe re-bind what shift is bound to by default in the options, but I don't remember what it is / does and I'm not sure how usable that'd be.
anyway I started a new game and found it in a box
every time I open the box it shows up again
with my microscopic knowledge about lua didn't found anything suspicious
https://pastebin.com/XMSuuhYk
i'll try it again
Yeah it'd drop the item you currently have equipped or the thing you're "holding" with your mouse (eg. if you're moving stuff in inventory)
> I only just happen to notice it if I'm looking in my main tab long enough
You mean the inventory tab?
> I'm just shift-clicking containers one after another, without closing the previous.
Are you moving stuff in your inventory at the same time? If not I really have no clues, at worst if it takes too long it should make a "chain" of them in your "cursor slot", replacing the previous one until there's none left
> This is the only time I've ever clicked it, and then it just disappears. (No container is open at this point.)
Ye as expected, it doesn't need the container to be currently open for stuff to be collected from it; it stores it's id when it's created
I've never pressed the drop item button at all when looting. (Wouldn't you just be dropping whatever item you're looking at from the container?) I'm just shift-clicking containers one after another, without closing the previous. The transfer to my inventory is instant so I dunno what I'd be interrupting.
I've never actually "seen" the item appear when it does. I only just happen to notice it if I'm looking in my main tab long enough, usually if I haven't auto-sorted yet. This is the only time I've ever clicked it, and then it just disappears. (No container is open at this point.)
Do you happen to quickly click on stuff / press the "drop item" button while holding a container?
Maybe it takes long enough to empty a chest that you can "interupt" it (by dropping it, or clicking on a chest / inventory slot) while it does it's job

Mod works though, as far as I know.
Maybe instead I could make a tool to "mark" chests as "blacklisted", but that sounds like a hassle to mark each chest just for this.
Another way could be to give the player temporary "looted items list" for each looted chests with a "cancel and put everything back" button, or simply have a setting to disable autoloot on chests past a certain size... 🤔
Any reasons you had shift pressed, or you just did it without thinking?
@ProfSplosion Thanks! When did it happen? As you clicked "Spawn outfit"? Was it easily reproductible? If so, I just pushed an update, can you reproduce it again?
@RevCat: "a disgusting hack" is an invisible item that shouldn't be visible to the player, but sometimes is. That name was some sort of a private joke for anyone reading the code, but for players it must've been confusing so I changed it today. Sorry for the confusion!
