Awesome! I'm excited to hear what you think about it!
I wanted to give more depth to the characters. Mako in particular I feel deserved his own story arc, being such a major character in the Sega version. I wanted to show how he ended up in the position he is in when you encounter him.
I feel like being able to see the world from multiple points of view helps to make the game more engaging and paints a bigger picture of the story overall.
I really wanted to make a true Shadowrun experience. Something that could be canon. I also wanted something fun. When I was making this, I tried to write it up in the style of a 1980's/1990's action movie. But my main goal overall was to make it a true sequel to the SNES game and a true prequel to the Genesis version. To make the Shadowrun 2 Drake promised Jake at the end of the SNES version, and to set off Joshua's shadowrunning career in the Sega version.
When you finish, tell me if I was able to capture that essence.
Thanks for checking it out. When you're done, tell me what you think.
There are also some Easter Eggs you may have missed in act 7-1 (My ode to the masterpiece that is Tommy Wiseau's "The Room") and also in the Jumphouse there is some hidden 4th wall breaking dialog.
Thanks for playing it all the way through. I really appreciate your feedback.
Got all four endings, and explored nearly all the paths: I just need to try two of the three possible run of Act III (Fuchi and Claudia murder) and double check widow's chase.
I am compiling a (brief, lucky you! :D ) txt with bugs/oversight, I'll open a new discussione asap, possibly tomorrow. All in all the UGC is very solid.
Liked the canonic endings, in particular the "Stoic" one, a little less the "frag you" one, but it's a matter of personal taste I think.
As far as some of the issues you had, I'm trying to recreate them to fix them. The Act 9 issue with Ransom has plagued me since I started that act. Sometimes it's works fine, other times it breaks.
As far as the Tabatha/Michael thing goes, It's cliche, but being that in the Sega game they're lovers, I wanted to create that relationship and maybe add a little weight to the ending.
As far as the other thing the gold key, it's one of several Easter Eggs I hid in the game. It's used to open a hidden door in the Church of the Old Faith. Most levels have an Easter Egg or two hidden in them. Act X has a ton. If you want to unlock the secret ending,
While I am not a fan of love story clichés, like the pregnant thing and of 80s look 'n' feel, I must say that ALL blends in really nicely, all in all it's been a hell of a ride and I am really enjoing it (I didn't expect it to be so long!). Act 9 was "WOW!", LOT of things, very "juicy" :D.
Had a few issues:
- ACT 5 (turn order issue, with neverending “neutral turn”).
- ACT 9 2nd Jaguar fight (Ransom didn't pop out);
- ACT 9 Team didn’t disconnect from the Matrix and the game stucks;
Restarting the level solved the issues, so no big deal.
I am taking note also of some very minor oversights, just skill/equipement things, noting game-breaking I will report them once finished the UGC.
What’s the Gold Key in one of the first act used for? Just an easter egg I didn’t get? There are other secrets beside the secret ending? I have the constant feeling I am missing something :D
I really appreciate all the kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. You're right about canon being a pain to work with. That's why the game I'm currently working on is my own original creation.
Did you find the hidden dialog option in the Jump House? Or the hidden ending?
And about a hundred others I've forgotten to write down. Working within the bounds of canon means that you're always fighting with one arm tied behind your back, but that didn't stop you from knocking this out of the park in every way, shape, and form. As only an Iceman could!
Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu!
Wow, wow wow. Just got done playing through the 3 main endings and man, that was amazing. The climactic inferno and clash of adversaries felt epic, I could see the Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer-esque final setpiece movie playing in my mind for that one. And the noble dignity in defeat also harkens back to some of the best cinematic endings (Empire Strikes Back, Infinity Wars, Dark Knight, etc.)
The sharp dialogue, callbacks, and references throughout from pop culture to Grecian mythology are such a joy to experience and truly showcase the skill of a master craftsman. Some of my favorite easter-eggs and bits:
The fact that Ancient Aliens is alive and well in the 2050s and carried into the future by the love child of Georgio Tsoukalos and Erich Von Daniken.
The SNES vs. Sega debate made my heart glow
Using the football season as a framing device and chronometer.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been super busy with the new game I am making and haven't checked this page for a bit.
I fixed that issue, so you should be able to complete the map. Let me know if that worked.
Thanks, chum.
That's one of the endings, but it's not the only way Michael and Stark meet their fates. The other two answers you give Thon end with different final fights and add more to the story if you're interested in the whole aftermath.
There's also the secret hidden ending, which was the one I enjoyed making the most.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing it, chummer.
It is grindy, It's something I'll try to work on. I have a minor update (mostly grammar fixes and incorrect outfits on NPCs) that I will release, and I'll try and shore up the combat a bit. I haven't had a chance to go back to Brothers due to the work I've started on my own game.
As far as that fight with Thon. All I can say, is let the fight play out to the end. The ending(s) are tied into it being a prequel to the Sega game, therefore I could only go in one-direction in order to fit within canon.
Thanks for all the feedback! I want to make the game the most enjoyable experience possible.
Now i;m in act X: Got to Thon and couldn't figure out how i'm supposed to win as there didn't seem to be any indications on what to do so i gave up. Will come back to it later probably if i can think of something i missed trying
Thanks, chum, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
There are a few areas that have problems, and that Ransom fight is one that keeps popping up. I'm glad you found a way around it, but I'll try and figure out whats up with it.
As for the hidden ending, It works like this:
*SPOILERS*
You have to replay from the start of the Salish wilderness. On that first map is an arrowhead hidden in some bushes (you'll have to search for it, but it's along the river bank). You can trade the arrowhead for a runestone on the map with all the waterfalls. Use that runestone (along with the two other runes you can find on the map) on the stone in the chamber hidden behind the waterfall and you can open the secret path to a the secret ending and secret boss fight.
If you do finish it, I'd love to hear your opinion on how you feel it stacks with the others.
I figured out how to keep Ransom in the fight with H-J by basically running away *with* Ransom until we were both under fire and then he turned around and got into the fight which helped a lot.
Re: the hidden ending, do you have to replay it from the start to discover it?
Anyway, cheers for the game. It's really well done.
I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. I do apologize for the grindiness of the combat. I'll be honest, I'm a writer not a programmer in the least. I think that's probably why this took 8 years to make, lol.
That said and for curiosity's sake, what act are you on now? I can always clean combat up with an update or two.
I hid a lot of stuff in this mod. There are references and easter eggs, everywhere. My goal was to make game that could be replayed over and over.
I'm curious if you found the hidden ending, and if you did, what are your thoughts on it? It's my favorite ending.
It is definitely up there with some of the best story focused UGC's out there but i will say that the further you get the more grindy and drawn out the combat's get as enemies just get more and more HP but you don't really do any more damage.
You're also not likely to ever die either, enemies all have hundred of HP, and so do you but you're still just plinking away at eachother doing 10-15 damage or so at a time, along with some of the characters you get given end up only having around 50-60% accuracy, so you'll also miss a lot.
Would still greatly recommend for sure. I really enjoy more linear character focused story UGC's so this was right up my alley.
Thanks for playing it! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. There are a couple of Burn Notice references in there. I'm a huge Bruce Campbell fan, so I had to. :)
I went through and tried to replicate the bugs regarding Ransom and the drone, but was unable to. The levels act up from time to time, and I really don't know why. I'm not a programmer, so I'm sure some of it is just due to my lack of polish and skill in that department.
I was able to make Ransom stop running away from the fight with Jaguar in Act 9. That fight is still difficult, but without Ransom's help it's basically impossible.
Let me know if it's working properly now.
Thanks chum, and good luck finishing up the final 2 acts.
I'm currently stuck somewhere in the matrix in Act 9, in the solo fight against the Hera-Jaguar.
In the first combat, Prometheus draws his fire, and then both dog and the construct help deal damage to H-J so he can be killed. In the second fight, which is the solo combat (because Ransom runs off immediately) he deals out too much damage too quickly for me, and i have kited him all over the map and none of the the different areas offered much help in terms of cover or getting a break from him long enough to heal. Also when he gets down to about 450hp he starts healing at a quicker rate than Jake can effectively deal damage to him.
Otherwise, as i said earlier, this mod has felt bigger and longer than the actual published game, and i've really enjoyed the whole thing. Huge kudos to you for your efforts over the years on this. Thank you so much for the game!
I've only come across a couple of small bugs (maybe)
- The first quest with Ransom in the team, he spent the entire quest running around in his drawers and with no equipment, the only thing i could do with him is punch things.
- When Yamamotu's drone spying on the other Runner team gets destroyed the game seemed to get stuck. i could see the magic artifacts / sparkles from the caster in the darkened room, still firing off magic, but there was nothing that i could do. After loading a saved game and having it happen a couple more times, it eventually worked correctly, and the game moved on.
- In Act 8 (or maybe 9) when going further into the building with Michael's team during a combat one of the Knight Errant soldiers could not be targeted for some reason, and at the end of the combat he actually fell in line with the team and ran along with us until the next transition screen.

Part 1
I've been completely blown away by how much content there has been in this mod.
The writing has contained some truly curious (but amusing) word choices, and character dialogue has been right up there with classic 80s action movie cheese. I've enjoyed all the references to pop culture scattered throughout, and think i've found a few more subtle ones dropped in here and there (a bit of Burn Notice repartee?) The plot has frequently taken me by surprise, and this mod has been a delight to play. I actually think it's been more fun than the actual published games (SR & SR:Dragonfall).
Not being able to customise and improve the characters has been a minor disappointment, but having a wide variety of characters to control, and the frequently changing team line ups, has meant that the combat has never become boring or a grind. It's also provided a chance to try something different as far as characters go.

Thanks for playing it. I hope you enjoy the secret ending. It's my favorite one.
That is very high praise, and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
I'm glad to see someone else with an appreciation for Tommy Wiseau. I personally feel Chris R is underrated in The Room, and deserved more screen time.
Act 9 was probably my favorite act to make. I had just finished System Shock 2 and had to have a mad-AI in Brothers. Act 10 was bittersweet, only because I've had so much fun making this. I'm kind of sad to have it end. I hope the ending pays the rest of it homage and is still enjoyable.
As far as the SNES and Sega versions. Absolutely play them! And if you ever get around to playing the three games in order, tell me how I did in connecting the two games together.
I look forward to hearing what you think about the whole thing when you play it through.
Arigatou gozaimasu, chummer!
Hey boss I wanted to send you a veritable essay about the insane amazingness that is this whole module/entirely-own-game-in-its-own-right has been. I just finished Act 9 after numerous late-night playthroughs, and while projects and an impending trip have gotten in the way of being able to truly give this piece of art the attention it deserves, let me just say how in awe of you I have become through process of watching a work of art come to life in real-time. Anything that can weave together 80's action flicks, a Christmas caper in the greatest traditions of Die Hard, and the single most riveting drug deal ever put on film by the auteur Tommy Wiseau is surely operating on a higher frequency than your average UGC!!!!!
A lot of the changes to the maps are due to my son going over the early ones for me and adding clutter and detail. It helped a lot to clean up the beginning to match some of the later maps.
Let me know what you think of the ending(s). I tried to make them all distinctive, yet also be able to keep the ending canon to the beginning of the Sega version.
Thanks, I'm glad I stuck with it. It took a while, but I feel it was worth it in the end. I recently ran through the original version I made on Shadowrun Returns and it's almost a different game.
When you complete it, tell me what you think.
I restarted to play it again around january of this year, currenty at the end of act V (i guess), so at least i know this run will have an end
Looks like i choose the right time to play it on Dragonfall (GoG version).
Awesome! I'm glad you're getting to play it through. Tell me what you think when you're all finished.
I cut my teeth as a GM with 2nd ed. and as cool as Shadowrun still is today, I still prefer the classic setting to the (current) modern.
Worked fantastically, thank you! Recently fell down the classic Shadowrun sourcebooks/adventures otaku rabbit hole and having the full M. Mercurial experience was nothing short of Nirvana. Can't wait to finish, will be bittersweet though!
I fixed the error. You should be able to continue through the scene now, but let let me know if it's still not working. Thanks!
I fixed the train error. The Knight Errant error should be fixed as well, but that has been a recurring problem for a while. Let me know if it works. Thanks!
Also since the Ares run all my characters wear Knight Errant disguise.
