mmm i was looking for a mod that would keep/pin the angle, rotation and distance and not rubber band back when i release the rmb when in galaxy/map view. This sofar is the closest to that i found. mmm is it still working

I had another look, unfortunately the reason it wasn't working for me almost certainly isn't why it fails for you. It turns out if you have a locally-installed mod (not surprising when you're the author) then the same mod subscribed from the steam workshop just always silently fails to work, even if the local mod is disabled and not in any playset, no error message at all. So basically I was encountering a different bug and I still have no idea about yours, and making a local copy is unlikely to be a fix for you.

Is there anything in your Stellaris error log? If you're running Windows it should be C:\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\logs\error.log

And thank you for the, uh, treasure. Don't worry, in this hypothetical situation I'd invoicing Paradox for the debugging work, not you. It's their nonsense after all - you were just unfortunate enough to hit the bug and nice enough to report it.

He he ...cant give money but here is a treasure award :steamhappy: Can you please explain more about running the mod not from the steam folder? How do I specify where a mod must be used from or stored?

Yikes, you're right. It's weird, the steam version doesn't work but the local version in my user profile does, and it's bit-for-bit identical to what steam has. So apparently it matters where the mod's installed, perhaps it might work if you copy it out of the steam workshop directories into your personal mod directory [stellaris.paradoxwikis.com]. Presumably something's changed in Stellaris's mod handling since it used to work. I'll try debugging this more seriously at the weekend - normally I'd expect to bill by the hour for this kind of nonsense. Sigh.

Thank you for the update...but yes I agree with Pepega...it does not seem to work. I am only running alpha mod and some of the alpha mod add ons and real space. I make sure your mod is at the bottom of the load order. I also tried having it higher up but no it does not work.

@Pepega: is it enabled in your mod playset? Paradox have added a slightly confusing 2-layered system where you have to add mods to a playset and also enable them, as well as selecting a playset. Under the Mods tab in the Paradox Stellaris launcher, do you see 'Galaxy 90 Degree Overhead View' in the list of mods and is it marked Enabled in green on the right?

@Joseph Sorry, the camera settings are in the main game definitions file which also contains gameplay settings, so any modification to it causes achievements to be disabled. I can't see a workaround unless Paradox change that.

Many time I wrongly plot survey route for my science ships because of the camera angle hide some planets.
