However splitting floors up into a basement/upstairs set up kind of ruins the flow, once you finish clearing out the basement you need to backtrack to floor one so you can advance to the upstairs section which can often take the player out of the moment. Especially if the player gets lost and has to spend five minutes or more looking for the next floor transition.
