Hmmm yes I did open A1 gate, but I didn't think a sigil placed in that gate could be also needed to open another gate! It's not an issue in the regular original game, so I didn't realize it could be possible in Randomizer. Thanks for the info.

The only green sigils locked behind C are a J and Z, you don't need them. Did you open A1 gate? That's avoidable, like the messages that pop up when you open/solve that arranger say.

Whenever you load a level (reset checkpoint, go through a portal, die) the randomizer dumps a bunch of info to console about your settings, post those here. You can copy paste them from the log file in "[steam]\The Talos Principle\Log\Talos.Log" if you want.

I am not discarding any puzzle; I can complete all that I encounter. But the modified signs by each level's door clearly show which sigils are inside, and none of them show the final two green sigils I'm missing.
apple1417  [author] 14 Sep, 2020 @ 10:16pm
It is always possible to collect all sigils, I put a lot of work into that logic. Make sure you're checking all locations including stars and the tower, and that you're not discarding a puzzle you think is impossible, but is actually doable with the right tricks.

Playing around with the jetpack is so fun! I have one big question: I'm doing Default mode, with items unlocked, but cannot get to World C. The last two green sigils I don't have, are not in A or B or A Star or B Star. If they're in C, I'm stuck, right?

All releases (and some pre-releases) are available on my github https://github.com/apple1417/Talos-Randomizer/releases/

Woop, never mind, the subscription works. It's OK now.
darkgreenblue 12 Sep, 2020 @ 11:35am
This map sounds very cool, but I cannot get it to install, even though I am using legacy version. Can the .gro be found somewhere and downloaded directly instead of subscribing?
apple1417  [author] 9 Jun, 2018 @ 4:23pm
Alright @squaswin, the new update is out, intended mode works properly again.
apple1417  [author] 6 Jun, 2018 @ 7:34pm
Hmm it shouldn't be necessary, but it might help, I'll look into that. I have time to work on the update again now though, so it should be done within a week and then you can just play intended normally again.
squaswin 3 Jun, 2018 @ 5:21am
I went with your suggestion of playing Intended + scavenger hunt (short), but I ended up in a situation where no yellow sigils were spawned, all the yellow sigil puzzles showed as completed, but none of the puzzle elements were unlocked. Not sure if that is an issue on my part or if scavenger hunt should have enabled "unlock all items" as well as "unlock all areas"...
apple1417  [author] 1 Jun, 2018 @ 9:10pm
Oh that's actually a small silly bug I was meaning to patch seperatly, but I made a bunch of other changes and it's not easy for me to quickly fix just that. It'll definitly be fixed for the next major update, but that might still be few weeks. It will always happen as long as you're playing on intended unfortuantly, but for now, it shouldn't happen if you use both intended and one of the scavenger hunt modes. If you'd rather have all sigils accessable you could try using 60fps friendly, it's the closest thing to intended, but there you might not be able to finish.
squaswin 1 Jun, 2018 @ 11:55am
Are there any known seeds for the "Intended" mode? I want to play this map but know next to none of the speedrun tricks...
Every seed I've tried so far has failed with

attempt to index local 'acceptableSigils' (a nil value)

Apple said that they are changing the time for the next race to Saturday at 8PM UTC.
apple1417  [author] 23 Jan, 2018 @ 2:52pm
Thanks. We've been racing sundays at 6am utc, usually you'll be able to find at least one guy streaming. Every time we've done it so far something's gone horribly wrong, but that just makes it more fun :p.

This map is awesome apple, glad you guys were able to make this possible, it's been a while since i had this much fun playing Talos
Cant wait to see you all do a race with this map :D

I noticed in your speedrunning video that you posted... the player (I assume you) lowers their FPS every once in a while.. may I ask why they do this?
JesaFengge 31 Dec, 2017 @ 11:45pm
没看懂
apple1417  [author] 31 Dec, 2017 @ 1:10pm
Haha, no problem. In futute there will be more restrictive modes too, which will make it easier for most people to complete, it's just the logic gets really complex so we're still working on it.
barrymead 31 Dec, 2017 @ 12:00pm
apple1417: While looking around in the Talos Principle section of speedrun.com , I just noticed the Miscellaneous caterory of "Community%" which actually has the RULE that you cannot unlock any items and you have to collect all of the sigils (but not all the stars). And YOU currently hold the WORLD RECORD speed for that category. After this discovery, I really feel silly suggesting that it is impossible to get all the sigils witlhout unlocking items.
barrymead 31 Dec, 2017 @ 9:40am
apple1417: You are correct (of course) I did not know enough speed running tricks to acqure the sigils of worlds A-4 through A-7 without unlocking the connector or box. Your video does indeed prove that with enough speedrunning tricks and skill it can be done. I enjoyed watching your video demonstration, but I doubt that I will ever be able to achieve that GOD level of skill. Thanks again for providing the options that alow us "MERE MORTAL" players to have fun as well.
apple1417  [author] 31 Dec, 2017 @ 2:08am
That's only because you don't know enough tricks :)

Default mode offers some protection against softlocks, for example you can always get out of A, and you'll never find a star in a star world. In this mode it will always be possible to get evey sigil, provided you know enough tricks.
barrymead 30 Dec, 2017 @ 10:24am
Apple1417: Could you explain what the difference is between the "Default" and "Fully Random" options in the startup area? The "Fully Random" option seems pretty obvious, but what happens to the sigil locations or game play when you select the "Default" option?
barrymead 30 Dec, 2017 @ 10:14am
The randomness makes it fun again to find all of the sigils, because you have to search the bonus (star) levels to find the normal sigils. Thanks for the creative fun idea to randomize the location of the sigils. It gives the game some new life. Sometimes the sigil needed to open a tower gate is on the other side of that same gate, so I need to use the Ghost cheat code. The options allow you to disable all but tower gates and unlock locked items so this rarely happens. This workshop campaign was definitely designed for players who are familiar with the game and know where everything is supposed to be. Newcomers to the game would not find it to be much fun.
apple1417  [author] 26 Dec, 2017 @ 7:11pm
Randomizing sigil locations means that you need to come up with a new route to beat the game on the fly every run, which is a lot of fun when you're used to there being a single best route.

As for how it works, when you first enter A1 it generates a configuration for the whole game. Every world has all 129 sigils hidden in an inaccessable loaction, so after generation it just teleports the relevant ones to the end of each puzzle.

What is the interest ?? How does it works ?
