Missing addoninfo.txt, server can't mount addon.

To fix create addoninfo.txt and add in following text:

I still have all my mapping files somewhere and technically I think we even still have all the files for running the servers we used to run :P life just gets in the way of things sometimes so the fact that there isn't an updated version has nothing to do with you Haxray :D

I imagine plans for an updated version of this map no longer exist or happened. Shame. I was a massive fucking dick with these comments, and I would like to apologize, assuming you would ever actually look at these comments again. I actually kinda liked the concept of this map ,looking back. It had a lot of layout flaws, but the idea of just a gigantic crate maze is appealing to me.

Sorry, I was a massive dick when I wrote my comments originally, and ill wish to apologize. Store house isn't nearly as bad as I made it out to be, especially on 3.0. While it is ugly and there is still flaws, i was a massive dick. Granted part of being that dick was because i didnt realize it was your map originally in the firs tplace, but I was still a dick.

That being said, ill like to know. Are you still working on this/the updated version? Are you working on anything? are you even still playing ZPS?

Haxray did a gordon ramsay on my map, so im making an alternate pretty version, keeping this as storehouse, alternate pretty version is using storehouse as a base but will be made more pretty using less bsp brushes ;P

Ahh reminds me of the days of Zombie Cows 2.4. This was our default server start map, played this a lot. Nice to see it made it!

A bit of advice, i would focus mainly on the office area and the shed/hallway for 'making it prettier'. Those are by far the worst offenders, followed by the shed. The main area is passable, even if it would be nice to add some decals to the crates, maybe some logos.

true that shed needs a rethink. as for the bright areas, its countered by the map being half bright and half dark with patches available for zombies to hide in, in my expeirence the zombies win 90% of the time, although usually I play with the scramble pit regulars and generally our carriers are very skilled.

but making the map darker is a good idea.

The map is actually a port of one i made for cs 1.3 or something, reaaaly old, so alot of the texturing was just done using replace.... which is sinfully lazy.
and now i have to make it pretty :<

The bad design choices was mainly in refering to the shed and how wide open the map was while also being bright.

I've also played the map plenty of timeson public servers, and I usually find zombies getting gunned down easily by survivors due to how long some of the 'pathways' are with little cover for the zombies. Also how exposed a lot of the zombie spawns are to gun fire.

I would at least suggest adjusting the lighting of the map perhaps to be darker.

Also, yes it is better than "90%"(I say 70% is a more reasonable percentage), but that isn't saying much if the maps look like redqueen(90% of the map being 1 ugly boring plain texture). While visuals are less important than gameplay, giving an excuse that its in the 'upper range' by comparing to the absolute worst comes off as flat out lazy.

mmm, 100% agree with you on the map not looking pretty but that can be said of 90% of zps maps which if you were measuring it against some of the other custom zps maps, it would be in the upper range in my opinion.

I don't agree with you on survivor sided, and ive played the map literally hundreds of times on public servers.
The office camping location is fixed as of the latest version, the top of the shed was always easy to get onto for zombies and rush before unless the carrier was horrible at the game and didn't get anybody in the early stages of the game.
But i see your point about the roof of the shed being an issue. in one iteration I had some boxes you could jump up but then everybody was going up there. so ill have a think on it.

as for bad design choices, please elaborate.

Funny, because this is a super survivor sided map. Outside of terrible visuals in several parts of the map(The office area looks terrible, the 'rope' near survivor spawn is glitchy, and the hallway areas + random small building area are just plain ugly), the fact the map is wide open with absolutely no cover what so ever for zombies constantly leads to them being gunned down en-mass.

Ontop of this, there is the fact that survivors can easily jump ontop of the small... building thing's roof, and stand there shooting zombies. Zombies cannot make it over there without using lunge, which is a massive flaw for obvious reasons. This flaw is mutipled even more by the changes to crouch jump making a running crouch jump + lunge INSANELY difficult and awkward to actually pull off.

TL:DR: The map looks terrible, is horribly survivor sided, and filled with poorly thought out design choices.

hmmm... can't really do much to make it better if you dont tell me what you think is bad.
The main thing people who don't like this map seem to complain about is the lack of hold out positions. eg, theres nowhere you can just sit with all the guns and ammo and shoot zombies for 20 minutes.

The map is designed for players to either work together or run and gun. you cannot solo win this map without considerable skill.

Was really hoping this map would be left behind in the dust. Too many flaws to speak of.
