On the roof of the cockpit area is a tiny little open space behind an LCD Corner Panel. (Might be a light, it's been a while and i can't check on this laptop) Directly under it is a Cockpit block so all you need to do to enter it is aim down and press your Enter-Cockpit-button (T on my settings, no idea if that's still the default)
