Hmm. I thought it would be an issue on the alpha, since the last time I checked the color was just a screen put behind a semi-transparent texture.

Or maybe I'm just foolish and being too... What would be a good word for it... presumptuous?

Probably closer to foolish.

@Evelyn, The Space Explorer: It is a side effect of me having it to reflective and a base color of R:100, G:100, B:100.... That is the best match I have found to match the recolorable colors of vanilla. Maybe they have another RGB value in basecolor, but Idk... But mostly is a side effect of reflective "gloss".

So if I may be so bold as to ask, Why is the glossy armor so dark? Is that a side effect of it being reflective, or is your texture overlay just not very alpha?

@Evelyn, The Space Explorer: Just your paranoia :) Or is it... lol
Victoria, Angel of the void 31 Dec, 2017 @ 7:20pm
I'm unsure if that's sarcasm, or my paranoia. I actually felt like I gave very little feedback with that to be honest... lol

@Evelyn, The Space Explorer : Good feedback. Thanks :)

Pardon the double post. I had more to say than the max character limit.

... Also theres no 1x1x2s, but I've mentioned that already. It's actually something I'm getting very tired of seeing in armor mods. (Not to say you won't add it, but the lack of it is annoying.) I use the 1x1x2s and rounded armor parts /A LOT/... It lets me add a lot of extra detail in spots that could really use it, and also lets me smooth over some spots that would otherwise look like a stair-case, which is one of my biggest issues in building ships using mod armors.

To be fair, you've got a great setup for your mod, and probably the third highest quality armor mod I've seen, so take my critisms and rambling ons with an ounce of sodium. *Joke*

Really, it's just taste. I'm a fan of sleak, semi-glossy, metallic, riveted armor.

Well, most of it can be pinned on taste. I find the texture to be a bit bland and flavorless.

That isn't to say it isn't high quality, but rather it's like looking at a 4k image of a sheet of blank paper. Sure the image is high quality, and even the piece of paper may even be something high quality... But it's just a blank sheet of paper.

That is the kind of feeling I get from the Cushioned armor. It's got a lot of quality behind it, but it's very blank. It's also exactly like the texture from the old 'Carbon fiber' armor mod with some support beams tracing the edges.

@Evelyn, The Space Explorer: Feel free to tell me what you dont like about the cushioned armor :) Always good to hear.
Victoria, Angel of the void 31 Dec, 2017 @ 6:40pm
Ah, Yes, I know the plight of trying to muster the strength to tackle something. I've tried my hand at making even simple Space Engineer mods before and it wasn't a simple task for the simple fact of tedium.

If I may suggest though, Those glossy armor blocks you've made are rather rare in the SE mod list. I think if you were to flush them out at some point, they'd be pretty cool. Or perhaps if they're going to be a little nod in an armor pack like this, perhaps some conversion blocks between the 'Cushioned' style and glossy style could be pretty neat.

To be honest, I saw the glossy ones in their own pack before, and passed it by as it was a 'test mod'.

But all in all, I think if you're going to do the cushioned armor (Which in my opinion doesn't look that great.) you might consider finishing the glossy one too.
Inferi  [author] 31 Dec, 2017 @ 6:25pm
@Evelyn, The Space Explorer: I will add more to these as soon as I can get more energy for it. I won’t add more to the glossy ones or at least I do not have any plans for it “they were a test that I made first to understand the deforming of armor”. They can also be found in their own pack. I have plans of making some semi glossy armor after I made the current cushioned armor is done.
Victoria, Angel of the void 31 Dec, 2017 @ 4:29pm
Not a huge fan of them so far. I feel the glossy one of the two is a bit /too/ dark even when white. I also don't like not having the 1x1x2 ramp parts.

I'll keep my eye on this for now, and I really hope to see what comes up!

I honestly would love some semi-glossy or reflective looking armor. So I've got high hopes!
