Just a quick note:

I've gone through the last month and done some updates across the board adjusting almost every edit in the collection. I've added Finisher and Special moves to edits where they were missing to help fill them out. I also focused on filling out Priority slots and adding some pin sequences in addition to some adjustments to Irish Whip logic, also added some more flash pin opportunities for high flyer/technical wrestler edits.

I've done a few sweeping logic adjustments like this in the past but this should really be the last major sweeping update like this on existing edits, I'll continue to make corrections or add new edits on a case by case basis but the overall style of the edits should be up to date and something I'm happy with now.

you are top notch! keep up the great work that you do for us.
captainhowdy  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 9:19am
I always had the plan to come back and refine/adjust edits, do some clean up where needed, but that was back when early access started and I didn't think the cumbersome method of edit selection would stay in place permanently. Thanks to the invaluable edit select mod, I'm able to easily access and update edits significantly quicker than before so this isn't the soul crushing grind it was on my first few logic passes lol yay.
captainhowdy  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 9:07am
Ok so I'm doing rolling updates across my main four promotion packs.

Over the next few weeks I'm taking a quick look at all of the edits and doing some logic clean up, point adjustments and minor appearance stuff. I started with this one and finished the big sweep, WWF 85-90 is almost done and although I haven't spent enough time with DLC moves and attire to start integrating those in full, some edits will have DLC in their updates.

Point totals may continue to be adjusted as I am working with parameters and skills to get the balance I want to better separate Main Event, Mid-Card and Lower-Card edits. This game has been out a year and a half and due to edit making/sim testing/school, I haven't really spent much time just playing with the game and running my feds, so as I spend more time doing that, more adjustments will happen, but not across the board - every edit - adjustments like I am doing now.

Cool, yeah I remember the rare jobber vs. jobber matches and someone like Italian Stallion would pick up a win but lose to the bigger names. Like Tully Blanchard once said, "If you beat a "nobody", then who did you beat?"
captainhowdy  [author] 5 Jan, 2019 @ 12:53pm
Hey aTm!

pd1021: I had a similar intent with my jobbers, only I wanted a small window for upset on a sliding scale because guys like South and Stallion won on rare occasions more so than the Mulkeys, but the points on the first few I checked were not as low as I intended and had more pin opportunity than I wanted, so there will be some minor adjustments.
pd1021 4 Jan, 2019 @ 8:09pm
All I've noticed w/ the appearances are that some edits like Dennis Condrey have mixed match boot designs or laces, or Sting having laces on his boots when he shouldn't. Small minor things like that.
pd1021 4 Jan, 2019 @ 7:22pm
Cool to see you back, I think I can help w/ the jobbers. Rev recently put out his WCW 1992 Collection and he set up the jobbers to not have pins or submissions in their moveset guaranteeing their loss unless there's a time limit draw.
[aTm] pickledmidget 4 Jan, 2019 @ 6:56pm
sounds good howdy. keep on keepin on!
captainhowdy  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 6:49pm
I'm finally back around some lol so I'm going to take a look at the jobbers, I've updated Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard's knee pads across all packs they are in, going with the short boot/shin guard combo to simulate the low knee pads. I've also updated all of my Arn Anderson's across packs to include the gourdbuster move that was added as well.

I've been out of the game a bit so I haven't really explored the new moves and edit parts that came with the DLC, so there may be attire updates or move adjustments here or there as I find stuff.
pd1021 26 Sep, 2018 @ 2:14pm
Having the jobbers win will go over better than any "Dusty Finish".
captainhowdy  [author] 26 Sep, 2018 @ 4:32am
Dusty's booking drunk again lol!
pd1021 25 Sep, 2018 @ 11:29am
The Jobbers are over BROTHER!!! Lol.
captainhowdy  [author] 25 Sep, 2018 @ 6:05am
Hahaha omg ok I'll take a look at the jobbers since they are not supposed to be winning matches and shouldn't have assigned pins either. They have next to nothing in stats so I will look into it and see if I can fix it.
[aTm] pickledmidget 22 Sep, 2018 @ 10:15pm
looks like the mulkeys are unstopable!!!! lol.
pd1021 22 Sep, 2018 @ 9:21pm
Nevermind, the Mulkey Brothers just went to a 30min. draw against Rotundo/Williams w/ "Critical" on High. Mulkey Mania runnin' wild.
pd1021 21 Sep, 2018 @ 10:56pm
With the exception of Mulkey Mania, the "jobbers" are giving the stars a run for their money or just straight beating them in matches....the irony Lol.
pd1021 18 Sep, 2018 @ 7:56am
On FPWR to get his knee pads look ppl would use the Open Boots (The Rock) as pads since they're right under the knee and the calf is exposed like Flair/Blanchards actual pads then put the short boots over it for a more accurate look.
captainhowdy  [author] 18 Sep, 2018 @ 4:31am
Yeah I go back and forth on if I like the knee pads like that.

I will look into some alt attires, I know some edits do have the same attire with different hair which was intended to get the different time period appearances.
pd1021 7 Sep, 2018 @ 2:34pm
I see what you're doing for the type of kneepads worn by Flair and Blanchard, but w/o using the actual thing it leaves the pads floating. Big space between the pads and knees.
pd1021 7 Sep, 2018 @ 12:09pm
I'm guessing there are still adjustments to be made as some alternate attires are the same on some edits.

Example: Ole Anderson's 2nd and 3rd attire are the same and Dusty Rhodes' first and second attire are the same w/ long hair and his 3rd and 4th attires are the same just w/ short hair.

Having fun simulating in between watching this era on the network.....GOOD STUFF.
pd1021 6 Sep, 2018 @ 10:43am
I love that on the WWE Network you get this era of Jim Crockett Promotions with the World Champioship Wrestling program starting in November 85 during the build up of Starrcade and it ends at the end of 1989. Perfect for this Collection and I definitely will use the Fire Promoter DLC to put on some shows.
captainhowdy  [author] 18 Jun, 2018 @ 10:43am
Ok I did a logic/move set/appearance pass on this collection.

There is nothing drastic, but I tweaked logic and adjusted some early pin attempts, after the priorities expanded I went too far for my liking by linking every pin to a priority, so I've made some adjustments there. The effect of this will be getting back to 15-20 min matches for most edits on average.

I also adjusted some skin tones, most of my edits were too pale and I gave more edits a tan to better reflect their real life counterpart.

I also added some headlocks and hip tosses, and this type of updating will continue as things come up, but I'm about to sim some tournaments and if the matches are working as intended these big sweeping type of updates will not be again :D
captainhowdy  [author] 19 May, 2018 @ 6:08pm
You are welcome, thanks for checking them out!
[aTm] pickledmidget 19 May, 2018 @ 3:48pm
this collection just keeps getting better. thank you again for all your hard work
captainhowdy  [author] 19 May, 2018 @ 3:37pm
Haha yeah, especially this era of NWA, I plan to pepper this collection with more jobbers here and there.
View The Phenom 19 May, 2018 @ 1:54pm
Yes, more jobbers!

I'm serious, can't have a promotion without low carders.
captainhowdy  [author] 5 Apr, 2018 @ 9:26am
Yes it's based on height, but they really need to add one or two more options because edits that are 6'3 or 6'4 like Jim Duggan don't look very good if they are the same size as Kevin Nash, but they are not Shawn Michaels size either so sometimes it's a judgement call.
View The Phenom 4 Apr, 2018 @ 6:57pm
What's your process for setting edit size? Is it based on height?
[aTm] pickledmidget 26 Mar, 2018 @ 9:46am
Bugsy was in there in the mid 80's also, teamed with valiant for a brief run.

Howdy, thanks again for all these.
captainhowdy  [author] 26 Mar, 2018 @ 6:10am
Yeah I can look into Bugsy McGraw, I think he worked some shows for them in 1988 on a tour, maybe Great American Bash shows.
GameSquatch 25 Mar, 2018 @ 8:40pm
Can we get a Bugsy McGraw edit? Thanks for all these edits.
captainhowdy  [author] 25 Mar, 2018 @ 7:52pm
21 Edit update I think, I haven't had as much time so I'm still filling in the bio's in the descriptions, so they will be updated through out the week.

As I keep playing with them I'll do any balancing/adjusting as needed, and correct any errors that I may have missed but they should be good to go.

I think there will be one more update around this size to finish out this roster. I'm doing a WCW update next then I will be back to finish up this collection :) Once the roster is complete I will do a points balance and logic pass and continue to add wrestlers that I may have missed.
captainhowdy  [author] 20 Mar, 2018 @ 2:43pm
LOL unintended ;)
[aTm] pickledmidget 20 Mar, 2018 @ 1:51pm
great. now im on the same level as a pet.......ill take it! lol
captainhowdy  [author] 20 Mar, 2018 @ 4:49am
@aTm: LOL my pets think that when I get up and feed them in the morning.

You are too kind but I am happy you like the updates :D
[aTm] pickledmidget 18 Mar, 2018 @ 2:38pm
Howdy, you make getting up in the morning just a little bt better!
captainhowdy  [author] 18 Mar, 2018 @ 2:08pm
Ok the mp3 update is finished with the exception of The Fantastics since I haven't found the theme I wanted for them yet.

Each edit should have an association with a song or the 'no entrance' mp3 tag, check the individual edit's page for details.

I'll clean up any misses or spelling errors over the week, and next weekend I should have a fairly sizable NWA/Jim Crockett update ready to go on Saturday, and all edits going forward will have an .mp3 designation upon release. :D
captainhowdy  [author] 17 Mar, 2018 @ 1:11pm
Over the next two days I am doing rolling mp3 updates.

Since there were more than a few wrestlers from this era that did not use entrance music, I'm using a 2 minute silence track titled _No Entrance Music.mp3 , so if you see an edit with this as it's mp3 tag then you know they didn't use music.

These should be updated by the end of the weekend, I'm adding mp3 support to my upcoming edits right now as well so going forward on this collection the edits will have mp3 support at release.

If I miss anyone or I have someone tagged without music that used it then just let me know and I can make adustments. :)
captainhowdy  [author] 23 Feb, 2018 @ 6:17am
Thanks aTm!! I know that if you like them then I have done a good job :D
[aTm] pickledmidget 21 Feb, 2018 @ 5:37pm
i am bowing down to your greatness howdy. bravo once again.
captainhowdy  [author] 21 Feb, 2018 @ 12:09pm
Ok I did the mp3 tagging so the edits with music should have the mp3 association, if I am missing one or I don't know of one that needs it, just let me know :)
captainhowdy  [author] 21 Feb, 2018 @ 11:20am
Need to do mp3 tagging, they are tagged on game I just forgot to add them to profile. I’ll update the bios with mp3 info tonight or tomorrow at lastest :)
captainhowdy  [author] 21 Feb, 2018 @ 11:02am
16 Edit update today, Varsity Club Dan Spivey is coming in a later Series, I haven't forgotten about him.

Ok I've been busy so if any edits need adjusting/fixing just let me know :D
[aTm] pickledmidget 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:51pm

i also have the network for all the old stuff. thats one thing they are doing good is keeping the old stuff alive. i watched 2 of the pay per views of the current stuff and couldnt get through it. i was just laughing at all terrible it is. but hey, im old. i like old school. its all good!!! lol
captainhowdy  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:42pm
I haven't watched anything new in a few years, I used to try and keep up but I realized if I only had so much time to watch I was going to watch stuff I knew I would like, I own all of the old stuff and going through it week by week is fun.
[aTm] pickledmidget 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:26pm
no i couldnt. things only last a week now! i assume, i dont watch todays products. to me its laughable.
captainhowdy  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:24pm
Hahaha that's awesome! That feud between Boogie and Paul ran for four or five years lol, could you imagine that now.
[aTm] pickledmidget 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:12pm
i was just going to comment on jimmy valiant , lol hair vs hair match.

i was at cobo arena the night garvin beat fliar in 87 and i was in the hallway area and paul jones was walking into the building. i said "paul jones". keeping with kayfabe, he looked at me, gave me a grin and kept walking. lol.
captainhowdy  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 12:39pm
Thanks! I'm having lots of fun with them so far, I can't wait to get to Boggie Woogie Man and get the Paul Jones Army filled out :D
