When I first used this skill, I laughed for a long time because I noticed that even the lowest half-cover would block it.

Oh, let's imagine an gremlin that sneaks, sneaks...

Well, by staying close to the ground, it was perfect for extracting a soil sample rather than spying on the enemy.

Nice mod but it seems to break the optional target preview HUD. No target appears despite the fact that my units have a good sight over multiple ennemies. If I disable this mod everything is fine again.

Using it along LWOTC but no other mods affecting gremlins.

Shen's Gremlin did have the ability too. I have no idea how these all work, but I figured I'd mention the issue in case they were related. It was super easy to deal with regardless since the DLC is so short. I'm already back to Scouting ahead :0)

This mod just adds an ability to gremlin, I don't even remember if it affects Shen's gremlin. Most likely the issue isn't connected.

Well, in my iteration, Shen got no prompts to activate the Spark, despite being in the proper position. I also noticed in an old Reddit thread from 6 years ago, someone said "I find the problem - when you change the original Shen's gremlin with another one..." Which reminded me that I was using a GREMLIN mod (this one).

Granted, could have just been a native game bug. That said, unchecking this and reloading a pre-mission save appeared to resolve it one way or the other.

Heads up, this (and probably all similar GREMLIN mods) appears to break Lily's interactions in the Shen's Last Gift DLC. Had to uncheck it and reload a pre-mission save from the Avenger.

Love the mod though, looking forward to getting back to it after :0)

This is neat. I dig it because it basically fits a character from the Rainbow Six Siege universe, "Lion". Lion uses a drone that scans for enemy movement.

I've been cobbling together various Siege operators (with some creative liberties! :P ) in my XCOM campaign, and have been having fun emphasizing what's iconic about them. This, and various other mods are making it quite a satisfying experience =) I appreciate how customizable this is. Cheers.

On another of your mod you answered that you don't include translations in your mods. So I decided to pass most of those translations to the author of an already existing mod that provides German translations for many other mods too.

after the save load, the place where the gremlin was scouting remained forever visible, even though my soldiers were elsewhere, I could shoot

Probe droid (scout) mod would be cool, Equip them as any class (like the jetpack) and send them to a part of the map that you want to see or if you don't like Star Wars. Then make it a different type of Gremlin. Just a cool idea that I thought would go really cool with the jetpack mod. Fly to a building then send a droid to the next building to make sure it's safe before flying/going to.

Already did both, it still wouldnt generate one for some reason, i ended up using the non-workshop link and copied the config inside the folder there to where the game should have generated one, it worked just fine, thanks for both answers still! =]

Each Workshop mod has a unique ID. That's included in its URL on the Workshop. It's also the name of the folder its installed in locally.
Each Steam game has its own folder for Workshop mods. XCOM 2's is 268500

Hello! first of all congrats on such a great mod, the community apreaciates it. I am however having a weird issue with my mod, i installed it and it is working, restarted the game so it would activate the mod but i can't find the ini. file anywhere to customize it, i'm using it with the alternate mod launcher and lwotc, since the mod is working i dont think this would be a compatibility issue and more that i'm just dumb and couldnt find the ini myself so i'd appreciate the help :P

I've looked on your blog and see you have plans for this mod. Please please release them.

I've always had an issue with the gremlin not being able to scout and mark targets.
I also have an issue with snipers using squadsight, which seemed pretty limited for what a sniper is suppose to be. Adding a gremlin to a sniper with these abilities would be my dream. Though there are other issues that brings to the sniper class. Still I look forward to your update of this mod. Great work.

Yeah. I didn't know that ";" at the front of a template code would delete it from the ini file. It's still clean and tidy in the Default game setting in the Steamapp folder.
Lucky for me I always make a copy of any file I edit, keeping it the same folder. I just add "_orig" at the end so I can find it ;)

Lesson learnt.

Looking forward to seeing what other mods you're creating.

Figured it out and new campaign seems free of glitches =)

Nothing to do with this mod, though for reference here's what it is.

If you comment out all the vanilla soldier [???? X2SoldierClassTemplate] in your XComClassData.ini then when you start the game it effectively concatonates all the code into one template, looking for the active [???? X2SoldierClassTemplate]. As the only free template is the Rookie at the top that template gets everything below it.
What gave it away was the Character Pool showing a gremlin behind every character no matter the class selected. This is the reason that the Gremlin ability was showing on a Rookie.

That's what I thought too. I'm baffled as to why it would be showing on a Rookie.

I'm going to run a fresh campaign, as I'm testing and testing mods and tweaks. I'll let you know if I see this happen again.

Scouting Protocol is attached to Gremlins. If a soldier has no Grenlin, they should not have Scouting Protocol.

Love your mods. Started to use this one as I want to build a specialist class to replace the vanilla version. Not sure if this is anything to do with your mod however I have a campaign running and on a mission where I receive 2 reward rookie soldiers this function showed. Obviously they have no gremlin. Pretty sure the game would crash if I tried to use the ability, but tested it anyway.

The result is that you can scroll through the map after selecting the ability, but at the point where you select a point on the map where the gremlin (invisible) returns the game freezes. Nothing can be done but force quit.

Like I say. I'm not certain that this is your mod but I thought I'd mention to see what you think.
PS - Like the reward soldiers, I too am a rookie =)

You could make it so that they can be spotted, but only if they are like literally a block away from the enemy (aka face to face). Drones might be small and harder to see, but they aren't exactly invisible =P.

Newest update seems to mess with hacking. Can't see the icon to hack or the option to infiltrate from another mod. I'm using a heavily modded game but turning it off allowed for hacking again.

Other characters without gremlin could hack without a problem.

Scouting Protocol does not interact with Scanning Protocol in any way. I have just checked and it works fine on my machine. The problem must be elsewhere.

Scouting Protocol breaks Scanning Protocol. It makes the icon grayed out, with 1 charge whatever INI setting you put, and when you try to use it it says that it doesnt have enough charges. Might wanna check that.

Hmm, that's too bad. I used to use that mod myself on occassion. Tell you what - I'm currently busy with other projects, but I'll ask around, maybe someone else would like to do it. If not, I'll do it myself, but no deadlines, could be months.

@Iridar, Gremlin Loot ability unfortunately is not working for WOTC (already tried it) and the modder is not working on XCOM anymore.

IMO that Loot ability could work nicely with your mod as an extra ability for Gremlins, besides there is a lack of mods for Gremlins (I really don't know why).

I guess it can't be helped. BITs are only good for explosives and half-ass hacking. You might want to update your description upon this fact though. I have a feeling this question might come up more.
