No Ipswich, Canterbury or Dover???

I too use scenery items to prevent towns going off the edge, specifically the kerb stones as they're not obtrusive and restrict growth.

Thanks seal, I'll certainly be doing more. I'll consider not placing towns too close to the edge in future. However I just place scenery items down to block growth.

@nickbrad Glad it's not a problem. Hopefully you'll enjoy the East Midlands map when it's done.

This is amazing!! A few towns too close to the edge of the map are my only concern, since when you expand them, they just grow off. Can't wait to see your other maps!

I can't understand it either, but as I say, it's not an essential mod for me, as far as I recall, it just gives me a few extra buildings to place, which GX Industries comes with loads anyway
GrandT  [author] 8 Jan, 2018 @ 11:36am
Well, glad you got it figured. Am at a loss as to why that mod wouldn't work on my map. And also not sure about the industries.
TrainswithNick 8 Jan, 2018 @ 11:32am
Ok, I found the issue, it's a mod called plop town buildings, which is causing errors, although i've used it successfully many times before. It is a mod I can live without though. Interestingly, the game spawned in a load of industries, that I cannot explain, although when I have made completley fictional maps, I simply add 2 farms in as I know it used to be an issue, whereby the game needed at least 2 industries to function.
GrandT  [author] 8 Jan, 2018 @ 11:22am
Let me know how it goes. I'd be interested to see why this map conflicts with an industry mod.
TrainswithNick 8 Jan, 2018 @ 11:04am
Ok, test number 1, (try with no mods installed,) worked. Next I will test with all mods installed that I wish to use with the exception of the industry mod. If that works, i'll move on to test 3, which is add the industry mod again to a saved game from test 2.
TrainswithNick 8 Jan, 2018 @ 10:57am
Shouldn't be that, all that line of code means is that it's not got any industries added, (otherwise they'd be listed similar to the city locations). I'm going to test again now, see how things go.

I've had a thought. There's a line in the Lua for my map that Map Tools generates. "industries = industries". Perhaps that is forcing it to 'nul' for industry mods. Only thing I can think of.
GrandT  [author] 8 Jan, 2018 @ 10:18am
I don't add industries, and I don't use industry mods either, so can't confirm it's the cause. Might be an idea to see if we can get this map working with your setup before I start on East Midlands (which should be this week sometime). Would suck if you couldn't load it.
TrainswithNick 8 Jan, 2018 @ 10:08am
There is one possibility and that depends on if you added any industries and if so, whether it's causing a clash. I know a lot of people use industries 2.2 or whatever version it is now, but i am a longtime fan of GX Industries. I shall try again without that mod installed, but other than that, I am not sure what else to try. There is a workaround if all else fails, but I'd rather wait until the East Midlands map is released first, (assuming I have an issue with that at all).
GrandT  [author] 8 Jan, 2018 @ 8:32am
The Lua is created from scratch, so I'm not sure what's going on. Out of curriosity I started up this map in all three year starts and every one loaded without issue.

The only thing I can think of, is it's another mod causing the error with this map. I did notice in the error report you posted something about 'cargocapacity' being 'nil'. Perhaps that's a clue.

The other thing I can suggest is unsubbing from this, and re-subbing and trying again.
TrainswithNick 8 Jan, 2018 @ 1:24am
Just tried that, but sadly all that did was removed the no cost part from the error report.

I'm wondering, did you recreate the lua from scratch, or just copy and paste with a smaller 4k png? It seems that the error is with a building placement, which I'd attribute to the game trying to place something outside the physical confines of the smaller map.

I'd really be interested in hearing if others have gotten it working successfully, so I could narrow down if the issue is my end.
GrandT  [author] 7 Jan, 2018 @ 11:18pm
Strange, looks like it's an error with the No Cost mod. Try running without it on easy, see if it still errors.
TrainswithNick 7 Jan, 2018 @ 1:59pm
I tried using this map as the East Midlands one isn't ready yet, but got the following error, any ideas?

https://ibb.co/ceWduw

I tired starting a new game with multiple different maps, all with the same settings, but it's only this map that throws up the error.
GrandT  [author] 4 Jan, 2018 @ 8:21am
Yep sorry, I should add that is required for both maps.
Dell Conagher 4 Jan, 2018 @ 7:55am
experimentalmapsizes - true? I really want to play this map! If so, sorry.
