Outstanding little mod you've made here! These small things really do improve the experience for me.
Mofers 17 Jul, 2021 @ 3:57am
Please do if you're able to, not only will it become ironman compatible but it will also allow it to be multiplayer compatible (won't change checksum) plus in my opinion I don't see the problem of removing some leaders unless they're quite major. or you can make another mod but i'm not sure if you would have to start from scratch.
Zdzichuuu 26 Apr, 2021 @ 3:01am
You can make another mod, if you have time.
Duchamp  [author] 25 Apr, 2021 @ 6:01pm
To make the mod compatible with achievements I would have to reduce the number of leaders to those of the vanilla game. Otherwise the mod wouldn't be compatible with other mods (e.g., Road to 56) as it is right now. Sorry about that.
Burch 25 Apr, 2021 @ 12:37pm
This mod will not work for achievements.
Zdzichuuu 25 Apr, 2021 @ 11:41am
Hey Duchamp, if you have time, can you please make a achievement compatiable version? I want to get those achievements with this mod.
castlefan85 10 Apr, 2021 @ 7:32pm
Not Ironman compatible.
Burch 14 Sep, 2020 @ 5:44pm
@Duchamp, thank you for your reply, I have taken a break from working on my mod due to need to avoid burn out for HOI4. My mod requires many USA leaders and would not have the need for any other country since the AI would not care if they all looked the same. I just wanted to make it a little easier for others players by having them included in the mod. If you change your mind let me know. Again thank you for all your hard work creating the best portraits for HOI4 and if the final version of my still requires many portraits I will link them to your mod. Cheers
Duchamp  [author] 14 Sep, 2020 @ 4:17pm
@Burch I don't like the idea of integrating pictures from my mod into yours. I would prefer people to download my mod and yours separately. My mod just modifies the GFX folder and it will work along with yours if the person installs both. If you really like the mod and want people to experience it along with yours then add a link to it in yours so that others can download it.
Duchamp  [author] 14 Sep, 2020 @ 11:54am
Hi everybody, I just made the mod compatible with the last HOI4 version. Additionally, I've released a new version focused on the UK with 62 new leaders. I've added some other leaders for other countries too. I'm afraid that this might be the last major update of the mod as I've never been able to find color pictures of leaders of any other country for the 1939-145 period. Enjoy it and let me know your feedback!
Burch 4 Apr, 2020 @ 9:24am
@ Duchamp, Hello! I am the creator of an upcoming mod and I'm wondering if I can integrate the USA generals and admirals from your mod into mine. I will be sure to give you full credit. Thank you.
Burch 26 Feb, 2020 @ 1:31pm
@ Duchamp, I really like your mod and am looking forward the the Great Britain update. As of 1.9 the mod is still working without errors. Thank you for your mod.

Update for 1.8?
Duchamp  [author] 23 Nov, 2019 @ 7:49pm
Hi everybody and thanks for your interest in the Real Color Portraits mod. First, sorry for the long radio silence. I haven't worked in this mod for a while because of two reasons. The main one is the lack of time but also I honestly became a bit disappointed after seeing that each update was taking me literally dozens of hours of work (finding good quality color pictures, editing them accordingly, creating the new leaders, etc.) and then the mod didn't have too much traction.

Today I updated the mod to make it compatible with the latest version of the game and adapt it to the new launcher. I wanted to focus on the next update of the mod on Great Britain and I still want to do it. My goal is to at least get that next version out in the next couple of months for all of you that liked my work and have asked me to update it. Thanks for your support!

Please update. These portraits are a beaut. I emplore you to update!
Duchamp  [author] 29 May, 2018 @ 12:07am
@jheck2722 thanks for your kind words. It does take a lot of effort to find the images and adapt them to the game but I'm happy that it makes the game more enjoyable. About the requests, Eicke is already in the last version but I'm afraid that the rest will be difficult. In all these years I've never seen a color picture of Hoepner, Von Thoma, or von Schweppenburg. Nevertheless, if I come across any of them I will add them to the mod :-)

About the next update, I'm not quite sure because I'm a bit busy these days... As I said the next version will be focus on the UK. Hopefully it will be ready during summer.
jheck2722 28 May, 2018 @ 6:25pm
I was thrilled to come across this mod, it works currently, is mod compatible, and is extremely well done. Thank you Duchamp for the hard work, and efforts to make this game more enjoyable. Not to be greedy, but next time you add to the mod, could we possibly have Erich Hoepner, and Wilhelm Ritter Von Thoma? Maybe Leo Geyr von Schweppenburg, and Theodor Eicke, but I may have missed them on the list when I looked through it. Not a big deal, just personal preferences. Thank you again, this mod should be a permanent change to the game!

The new version of the Real Color Portraits mod is out! The focus has been Germany and I manage to include 154 new leaders all of them with real color pictures! This includes 144 generals (mostly Heer and some SS commanders) and 10 admirals. I hope you guys like it!
Nova Kane 20 Feb, 2018 @ 2:51pm
Thanks matey - much appreciate your response. Faved!
Duchamp  [author] 19 Feb, 2018 @ 11:22pm
Hi @Nova Kane, the goal of the mod is to use only real color pictures and, unfortunately, there are not many for the USSR. I will try to add some more soviet leaders but the priority now is Germany for the next version and the UK for the following.
Nova Kane 19 Feb, 2018 @ 3:25pm
When can we expect USSR content?
Duchamp  [author] 18 Feb, 2018 @ 5:05pm
@michael.todd.03 Creating new leaders takes around 3-5 mins per leader so it's a really time consuming task. I have created around 50 new generals for Germany so far and I still have around 50 pictures for other generals that I can use. Also, I have around 20 admiral pictures. I will try my best to have the next version ready, with around 120 new leaders for Germany, next weekend.
michael.todd.03 18 Feb, 2018 @ 12:49am
When will the German Generals be out?

Add this man please Earl Browder
michael.todd.03 5 Feb, 2018 @ 10:47am
Japan also could do with being a large part in this mod don't you agree and it's got loads of generals also Germany should be next in the mod ok.
michael.todd.03 5 Feb, 2018 @ 10:08am
Will more SS be added?
Duchamp  [author] 3 Feb, 2018 @ 8:33pm
Hi guys, the new version (1.2) is out with a focus on the USA as you suggested! In total I've added 86 (59 Generals and 27 Admirals) new leaders! With the new DLC for HOI4 and it's feature for chain of command I think these leaders will become really handy.

The focus of version 1.3 will be Germany and the focus for version 1.4 probably the UK. Expect at least a hundred new leaders for each.

Finally, if you like the mod please don't forget to subscribe and fav and to rate it and comment. It takes a significant amount of time to create quality content and the rating and comments are really appreciated.
Digital_Cake_ 28 Jan, 2018 @ 7:02pm
Also agree, Germany should be next.
michael.todd.03 26 Jan, 2018 @ 11:59pm
Yeah I do agree with you adding more US Generals because they don't have very many.
Duchamp  [author] 26 Jan, 2018 @ 3:19pm
@michael.todd.03 I would love to include advisors too. In fact I have many color pictures for important politicians of that time. Unfortunately, the way the advisor portraits are in the game makes creating new very difficult. I will focus for now on commanders and keep in mind the advisors too.

Also, so far it looks like you guys are more interested in Germany or the USA for the next update. I think I might start with the USA because as someone was pointing out they usually get less attention.
michael.todd.03 25 Jan, 2018 @ 12:53pm
I'd also love to see more leader portraits and able to add in some advisor portraits?
Digital_Cake_ 24 Jan, 2018 @ 4:51pm
@Major Jason, It's because Germany is the best nation, it always needs more.
michael.todd.03 24 Jan, 2018 @ 11:11am
