This has become my new exploration SV, and it didn't take much to add in a shield.

Played with it the past few hours, even disected it once in creative mode; I must say, very good job and excellent use of space. I honestly didn't think much of it at first, but it may be my favorite SV at the moment. Thank you very much for sharing! :steamhappy:

have not downloaded or checked it out yet, but that bathroom you made looks soooo much better than any of the existing modules for bathrooms, gonna have to check this build for that alone.
Other than that the ship looks awesome too.

This ships design is really cool, tho i have to complain about one thing and it drives me nuts.
if you dont land perfectly flat you cant walk around in the ship, you get stuck.

One time i had to remove blocks just to get out of the ship.
The think the walkways are to small and it causes this issue.

Other than that issue that stops me from using this ship it looks really awesome and cool design but thats it.

So i Sub just to see what it looked like, spawned it in solo creative... and WOW!! The whole concept is amazing. and the placements of everything is awesome. yeah there are alot of sensors but you have on/off switches for most if i not mistaken..
I usually Sub to something i like and then make it to how i like it. havnt played with your design yet but looks like fun... and 68.. i dont think anyone needs more then that on a Sv.. but hell, im a hoarder. i keep everything. :-D

Again amazing design. cant wait to see more of your designs

I think that it is a very good design, but I think that improvement of the sensor is necessary.
With many sensors, power consumption is large, sound effects are noisy.

Wonderfull SV, wonderfull interior, nothing to say more ;)
Cheers ;)

This will be one of my alltime favorites for sure. You did AMAZING with the details. Your LCD Panel use is so cool!

great design, manages exactly to break out of those basic shapes the game would give, but still doesn´t look absurdly spiky or in any other way overbuilt, can´t help but smile when i see such an authentic ship, and i won´t even get started on the interior^^
Haven´t yet tested it ingame, but i did notice one little thing in the preview you uploaded, where it would appear that some of the windowglass in the cockpit has the "seethrough" effect correctly with the windows being darkened when looking from the outside, however those slanted triangles appear to be the other way around. Just in case you didn´t know, you can select "change and rotate" on the multitool, aim it at any window, and then, instead of using the rotation keys, just leftclick it with the mouse once, it will then swap the dark and the light side of the window around and make it match to the rest ;)

@Calabacina
thx

@wenchemolokken
Yes, it is ;)

@obiwanpikachu
first of all thank you for liking it,
the Taurus is just a big SV and therefore needs more materials and space than really small SVs. For starters, I would personally fall back on a cheaper one but with time and mining drones you get so much ores that the amount of materials should not be a problem anymore.

@KnirkeDK
Glad you like it and I could inspire you with it.
I try again and again to implement new ideas and designs and of course I also get suggestions from the workshop to then integrate them into my project.
How much time I needed for the Taurus is hard to say, but it will have been over 20 hours at least. As a rule, the construction of a ship consists of the basic idea, 40% construction and 60% conversion / improvement until I personally like it and I publish it.
And yes, there will still be a lot of me.

an asymetrical ship !!! yay!!!! wooooow im extremely impressed.
well played sir, how long did you spend on this?
LOVE that cockpit..the way you used the glass..robbing that idea..sorry :D
make more boats :D

This is an awesome SV, but it is way too big and expensive for my tastes/budget. If it wasn't so expensive, I would give it 10/10.
Hallalsaus 13 Jan, 2018 @ 11:26am
is that in the game?

(Thank you Frank, I have experimented a little bit with asymmetrical ship designs in the last few weeks. Besides the Taurus, two more SVs have been created. Two battleships (size 9 and 3) ... but still has to work on the details before I put them in the workshop.)

@Gawain, @Aristacah and @Michpal

Thanks for the comments and that you like the Taurus.I try to release new ships regularly this year. Currently I'm still working on the processing of some old, not published projects, but will pay more attention to the positioning of the RCS in new ships to get a more balanced ratio.
Michpal 12 Jan, 2018 @ 8:14am
Hi, this ship shape looks very interesting: o). Thumbs up and fly sample this evening.
Aristacah 11 Jan, 2018 @ 6:42pm
Well done. I'll be following you!
Gawain 11 Jan, 2018 @ 4:25pm
Very professional. Pitch & Yaw is a little light but aside from that the stats are excellent. Handles well and has a nice look. I am going to have to follow your work.
frank-fisher 11 Jan, 2018 @ 1:37pm
Very nice ship, we have to less good asymetric ships on the workshop! Thump up!

Had a look in Photoshop years ago (after Picture It) but unfortunately it was too complex and I quickly lost the interest in it. Sure, Photoshop is one of the most powerful image editing programs and because of the whole functions not easy, I'll take a look at the days again. Your explanation with the blue glow is very helpful, but probably has to experiment a bit (you have 18 years lead)! Why can not the day have 34 instead of 24 hours?
I accept your offer with the title picture thankfully and will naturally also mention you as author of the picture in the description.

Thank you for the kind words. I use photoshop (been using it for about 18 years now), but I would not call myself a master or anything, I just know some tricks. I did not spend too much time, the hard part was playing with the balance of the ship, the logo, and the text with the inability to really move the ship much. I had to recreate a lot of the background to move the ship what little I did. I did not have to track or kern the type itself at all. What you see is its native tracking, so you really should not havre to mess with the balance of the type at all. Feel free to use that format I made.
< blank > 10 Jan, 2018 @ 10:13am
The blue glow is just a shape line with a blue stroke that has a gaussian blur, another blue stroke on top of the blur and a white stroke wiht one less point size with a bit reduced opacity. This helps with the glow. The blue glow on the text and your logo was just a drop shadow with blue and distance set to zero then mess with the opacity to make sure its not too much. I also put a vignette around the entire composition, but the text and logo sat on top of the vignette so they were not darkened. Hope that helps :)

@Pyston
Okay, here you can see who is professional and who is an armateur. Very impressive example with the title picture. I have experimented with the font a bit and think that I have found the solution so that the distance to the letters is uniform. Unfortunately, I now have a new problem, your version of the cover picture is so awesome that I like to take over the handle for all ships. Unfortunately, my graphics programs do not seem to have the necessary features or I have not found them yet. I'll probably have to look for a more powerful graphics tool (which did you use?)! The way you are integrating the edges of the logo and the writing with the blue glow in the picture is awesome, plus the frame ... perfect! Finally, one more thing, I think it's really great of you that you make all the effort with me and show me the right way ... big THANK YOU!
< blank > 9 Jan, 2018 @ 6:17pm
I just played with that font (oddly, had it already installed on my comp) and the letter tracking (letter spacing) was proper with no need for additional kerning.

Did not have much time since I had to go away and could not update the thumbnail pic. I'll do it now. The first typeface I used was Terminator Two Thin (I have to change it on the Xenus too, as the X does not come across clearly). The current typeface is Ethnocentric, did not have much time to test different. It is important to me that the font looks a bit futuristic.
< blank > 8 Jan, 2018 @ 8:41pm
Ohh, I just saw the first pic..still looks weird (I was looking at the thumbnail pic, it did not look changed. Now the T looks too close. What typeface are you using, I can play wiht it to show you what I mean.

@ Pyston
Thanks for the positive comment and the hint with the T AURUS.
You're right, looks really weird and confusing, have it changed now.
Another thanks to you, Kieve and MCFluffFace for the SV and their interior that inspired me on my ships.

Sweet looking ship. I love the use of the back to back thrusters for an overall engine look. My only complaint (its been a pet peeve of mine for...about 35 years) is that your "T" needs to be kerned closer to "aurus" in your preview window. It does not read well, looks like it says T AURUS, not TAURUS
