Nope, Klei patched those to not be able to be stacked.
Minisigns and starcallers are the ones left.

Does this mod still work with spider nests and lureplants? I tried disabling all my mods except this one and geo, and can't get it to work.

Client-sided collision rejection by the assumption that the stackable objects will select other colliding entities when hovering the mouse over, stopping placement. This mod just makes that rejection field null around the cursor.

Yeah, those objects don't have placer sizes and as such will always try to go into stacking-placement mode.

Mod doesn't allow burn signs, lure plants, etc. at firepit/campfire. Is this normal?

0.1.4 pushed to check in case that meta value is nil. Not sure what changed in the base code, but apparently there's a case where it tries to set the player controller's placer to nil twice in a row now.

Let me know if you get another explosion.

No, there's no hotkeys.

Functionally you'd be able to do everything normally by using alternative means, like opening the chest first before trying to move a spider sack into it. For giving items to other players, dropping it to the ground would be that workaround.

This may not be the most ideal for everyone, but for me when I wrote it suited my needs.

Side effect of being both a server and client, unfortunately. With how I am handling the placement it'll do things like that. Mod's intended for playing on dedicated servers.

On servers without caves, Queen bee is not aware of players when holding with the mouse to items like spider eggs.

For placing items down, check out quick drop mods. It'll let you drop whatever in your inventory down at your feet precisely where you're at.

yes I already us it, also used it in the picture, but it still leaves some empty space sometimes.
The described problem with the hitbox of things is present everywhere, eg it is nearly impossible to place gunpowder next to a sleeping deerclops, because of his big hitbox (same problem as described below), therefore I already increased the range of gunpowder.
So I really would like to see a solution for this =/

Unfortunately this mod doesn't cover that type of placement. This mod is exploiting what I believe to be a bug with how some items aren't "supposed" to be placed, yet the code doesn't mind it if it does.
For example, normally two spider nest items couldn't be placed on top of eachother, but with this mod enabled it'll let you. The server won't complain about it as the spider's nest has no collision to speak of for placement.

It helps with keeping tedious tasks automated, and for planting something in a planted area merely having the box over your target area should suffice for planting if it is able.

I did not understand yet what this mod does.. can you expand the explanation with examples what should does happen and what the mod does instead?

Anyway, I'm currently looking for a solution of the following problem:

Easiest example of what I mean is when you want to place something behind a tree. The tree is blocking your view and your mouse. You have to rotate to be able to place sth.
But when placing saplings you are able to see behind them, but your mouse does not go through. In these 2 screenshots you can see there is only a very small mouseposition where I can plant it, while a tiny mouse movement dont let me plant it:

A solution could be, hovering the mouse over an tree with a sapling , the only valid action would be to place it behind the tree -> do this.
And reduce the mouse hitbox of many objects to their actual graphic size...

It's automatically on when it's enabled. If you're using a controller, then I'm not sure if this will work for you. I play with a keyboard and mouse. Further this may only work on dedicated servers or self-hosted servers with caverns enabled.

Hold the item in the mouse and it'll let you place it if it's able to on anything else. Not every item can do this, but for those items that can this'll do it.

Anything and everything that is able to be stacked is automatically hooked. Note that this isn't changing any of the server code or checks, but rather makes the client be able to use the zero sized radius these things actually have for placement.

Tooth traps have a collision with other things. If I hooked them with how I've created this, then the client would think placing them is alright when the server will disagree. This will cause the client to do nothing but return the placement back into the inventory.

That's part of the handling on staffs that are able to be stacked on each other. Effectively this mod makes entities near your cursor untargetable, letting you do their actions on things that you normally wouldn't have the option to do so. It's a decision I made since I can't know for sure when someone wants to start using the staff as a spell cast or a weapon. Since using it as a weapon is generally not a good idea, I merely kept the assumption that no sane person would attempt to use it as a weapon.

When holding a starcaller staff with caves disabled, I can't pick stuff up as it is stuck with the option of right click to cast star. Space bar to pick items also doesnt work when holding the staff.It also seems not sometimes not want to attack mobs when holding the staff (tested w/ a hound, ctrl-F seems to work somewhat)

Nope, flowers have a radius of planting. If you're looking to make sanity stations, then there's already a well done mod on the workshop that does that.
