@Lanzelot_68: It is only fixing game that started with the mod activated. Unfortunately for non-BBS PBC game pre Ethiopia you are screwed.

What do I need to do in order to use this fix? I have a PBEM save file, which suffers from this bug, but even with this mod subscribed and activated, I still can't buy units and buildings with faith.

Hate to be that guy, but not sure why reducing desert and separating it more from the poles is more realistic - deserts exist at rather cool temperatures - or at least are found well into temperate zones. Some of the most desolate deserts in the world experience snow at times - such as China's Taklamakan as well as the Gobi Desert (and, from a technical standpoint, Antarctica is the world's largest desert - but I digress).

Also, clearly I lied when I said I hate to be that guy.

Still, appreciate the effort put in.

Install the mode : check
Start a game with BBS for the first time : check
Spawn at the EQUATOR level with CANADA : fuckin' CHECK !

I have a question regarding Pangaea+ with this mod, does the map distribute city states on islands and not on the continent?

@cnhc2482 My guess is It is meant to be played with BBG, where Nubia does not need deserts for their special improvement.

I confirm that crossplatform leads to different map and a crash when finishing turn one. I was playing with a friend who bought the DLCs on Epic, resulting in this kind of results. BBG on the other hand works perfectly fine on crossplatform, and there was no other mod used with BBS/BBG who could lead to any conflict. Hope this can be fixed someday !

@D. / Jack The Narrator,, Hi, your mod, probably after the last update of civ6: "Better Balanced Starts" is in conflict with another mod: "Yet (not) Another Maps Pack"'. When both are enabled, the game cannot be loaded, not even newly started / randomly generated. Or the waiting time is ridiculously long, after 10 minutes of waiting I had enough.

@leszek: if your mod affects saved game, it might not be compatible when it updates. I ll advise checking with the owner of that particular mod.

Some mods belong to the category 'affects the state of saving the game'. Can I somehow change this parameter in the workshop files of a given mod on my drive. Unfortunately, a large part of the mods from this map where I have this described problem, was updated quite a long time ago.

I do not know if this is the right place to ask this question, but in the game / map I play within this mod, I have a problem.

Well, I can buy some units for zero gold, such as: deathbot, engineer, etc. Theoretically, it looks cool, who would not want to spend 0gold instead of 4,500 pieces. I also have an active resolution reducing the purchase costs for gold by 50%, but from 9,000 gold to zero is a bit lacking.

In addition to this error, there is one more. Well, sometimes it happens a round that after I finish my armies, and click the arrow next turn to AI users instead of making any moves it stands and waiting for what is known, even 30 minutes, 3 hours until I finally decide and I will turn off the game through the task manager, because how long can you wait.

Has anyone encountered such a malfunction?

@Destrock: I am merely clarifying this mod is the results of the constant inputs of the major competitive league e.g. CPL, CivFR (hopefully soon Civ.Ru) with changes being voted upon and calibrated for competitive civ6 tournaments. I do appreciate some balancing aspects might be harder to grasp for more casual players e.g. CS at higher level being seen as free cities vs. you seeing them as obstacle/difficulties. You can see that as an invitation to improve your game style or turning it off to have a more relaxed games with the AI and spamming wonders or testing new stategies.

@Destrock: Well the balance is targeting first and foremost the pro player. I do encourage you to watch the Twitch stream of famous caster or players to have a glimpse of their strategy. Beating multiple AI in Deity is a piece of cake for those players. There is the CCC tournament this week on CPL and CWC resuming next week so plenty to watch.

@Destrock: I guess it is more of a level gap when approaching balancing. Competitive players actually limit in tournament the number of CS you can capture because they are seeing them as free city and then free worker pillage. The minimum distance with CS is 6 tiles vs 9 tiles for major civilizations. The algo will try to maximise this and CS are removed when they are too close to major spawns.

@Quineloe @Apok If you are referring to placement in Teamers do consider there are other factors being considered such as minimum distance versus enemies. In some instances it is simply not a solvable problem because of the seed, the starting biases, and the order the civ are placed (i.e. randomly 1 by 1). In that case the map would be just generated as is. As an example if you are picking Russia + Canada in one team with an East vs West setup if your tundra is too thin up North the algo would prefer to put both Russia and Canada south rather than forcing Canada in the Jungle to maintain it on the East.

Been using this mod but it doesn't seem to work. Is it only good for certain map styles? I keep getting 3+1 on one continent and 2 on on another in Continents and Islands

Everyone will download it from you - although it is best practice everyone is subscribing. You don't need to select "Balanced Start". "Standard" and "Balanced" starts would yield the same effect.

@heff - Subscribe to Multiplayer Helper on my workshop and try again. It might be a Hotseat problem being hardcoded for 12 players.

Thank you. It updated to 1.16, but I still have the same issue. I have done some better trouble shooting and found:
1. It is only the enormous map
2. It only occurs in Hot Seat (single player works, local network works)
3. When I try to load a game or start a new one it says that there is a player in an invalid slot and that the map only supports 12 players, even though enormous is selected.
4. Other map sizes work with the mod installed
5. I have tried with no other mods active, just balanced game active and my other normal mods active. No combination of mods works if 1.16 is enabled

I wish that I was more technical to provide log files or configuration information, but unfortunately, I would need some fairly detailed instructions (what directory to look in, what editor to use, etc).
