Can you make the shields to be available since the beginning, not just when you upgrade the shields to Iron Shields? Would that be possible?

The double sided axes do look better for him yes. I would be fine with that one being used then again I'd already be quite happy with the shield removal too since it just does not work for them.

Might be nice to see other viking shield designs for the other units though.

Haven't played Skyrim, but if this https://i.pinimg.com/736x/82/ce/c2/82cec233ffb97923f230edd86f36f6ad--weapons.jpg is what you're referring to, that sort of looks like a high-poly version of what the Ulfsark already uses for his iron weapon axe, i.e. this https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/ageofempires/images/7/79/Ulfsark.jpg.png/revision/latest?cb=20111128225506 If you like that iron axe already, I could just make it so the Ulfsark only uses that axe instead of different axes for tech levels.

Maybe the steel battleaxe from Skyrim? It seems a rather nice design. And a two bladed axe will look less like a hobby horse either way.

Invisible shields? I could just remove the shields altogether which might make for a more "berserker" appearence for the Ulfsark. If you have a picture of the type of axe you have in mind that would help.

The Ulfsark have their pelts on their backs which would make it hard to put a shield there. I can certainly give them new axes but, without reanimating them, they will still hold them in the same place for their idle animation which does sort of look like they're riding a hobby horse (lol, haven't heard this one before).

You do amazing work, I love all these weapon and shield alternatives you added to the game.

Could maybe the Ulfsarks get some love? It always bothered me that they have their shield in hand while wielding a two handed axe. Could perhaps they get new shields that go on their back instead? And maybe new axes too?

Some versions of their axe make it kind of look like they are riding a hobby horse either way.

They aren't meant to. Most viking shields would have been covered with leather, linen, or thick paint so wood grain wouldn't have been very visible on the front. The wood texture is visible on the backs of the shields in this mod. Basically, just go to Steam/steam apps/common/Age of Mythology/sound then look in that folder for all the audio you want to replace with Apotheon audio be it music, dialogue, etc. The names on the folders are pretty straightforward and don't forget to use the search function. The music in AoM has really unusual names but there are only like 10 music files so it's not that hard. Then make your mod copying the directory (i.e. Age of Mythology/mods/your awesome mod/sound/music/a matt named kittens.mp3) except your mp3 is from Apotheon you just renamed it a matt named kittens.mp3 so the game will use it. There are guides on the workshop on uploading content that will explain this in more detail.

Oh ok, I have zero modding experience so probably I'll have to read some tutorials, I bought the game music on Steam store, so I might be able to do it.

That's a fiarly basic mod as long as you have access to the audio files from that game. All you would need to do is make a mod folder with the correct directory set up and rename the audio files from that game to whatever files in AoM you want them to replace. You could probably find someone to do that for you, but honestly, it's so easy to do and you will only really get the results you want by doing it yourself (unless it's something really simple like just replacing the main menu music etc.).

No, this mod only changes the anim file for the Huskarl so he uses these shields. Everything else will remain unchanged. If that mod also changes the Huskarl anim, there will be a conflict, but it will only be related to the priority of each mod as to which Huskarl is used.

Probably not. Iirc, that mod is online compatible because it's just textures, this is an anim mod so it will override.

Ozendivad those are mods. You can add any mod on your game to improve it and customize as you like. There are many mods you can find.
