This is an excellent mod, but it seems some of the Dwemer Bowls were missed, does anyone know of a mod that gets them all?
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 21 Mar, 2015 @ 8:47am
I've finished updating the mod. You can do what you want with the files.
Armorguy1 1 Aug, 2014 @ 5:49am
it's a little late but you forgot to add some stuff like, tankards, normal plates or nordic dishes. I solved it in my version though. i'm trying to stuff as much little mods i can in one to conserve space. (went from 150-145 already!)
evilcloudyness 14 Aug, 2013 @ 4:08pm
Thanks soooooo much!
BirdiE 6 Jul, 2013 @ 2:50pm
You should really try and change it such that you can smelt stolen goods. I really don't see a realistic reason why you couldn't...
[►] Djerůn 24 Jun, 2013 @ 11:20am
You misunderstood me. I was just asking if you would change it or not. I know that I can do anything with the mod as long as I don't re-publish it, so I wouldn't ask for a permission to modify. The reason I wrote it was - as I wrote - to get to know if you would change it or not to either just use it or change it before using it. In hindsight I just should've made me a litte mod that did what I wanted instead of searching the workshop for the one I used about a year ago not finding it in the end and starting a discussion about estimated volumes. So I explicitly ask: "Will you change it to 100 coins per ingot or stick with 110?" so I can act accordingly.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 24 Jun, 2013 @ 10:09am
As far as I'm concerned, you can do exactly what you want with the mod. It is here to be used, not owned.
[►] Djerůn 24 Jun, 2013 @ 10:07am
Most mods I've seen so far that allow you smelting coins to ingots convert at a rate of 100:1.
Also most mods that add weight to coins set it to 1/100. So it's up to you to decide if you want to join in or not, but if you don't I'd like to know so I can change it locally to be consistent with my golds weight.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 24 Jun, 2013 @ 5:16am
I rounded upwards to a degree where that was also taken into account. Of course, the measurement was not 100 % precise, as no unit of measurement was used. If you have a better suggestion, I would happily change the value.
[►] Djerůn 23 Jun, 2013 @ 1:46pm
did you also round down because the ingots top is thinner than its bottom? (most weighted gold mods set a coins weight to 0.01 btw)
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 23 Jun, 2013 @ 11:17am
Djerun, it means that I compared the coin and the ingots to see how many coins long, wide and high the ingot was. Then I rounded upwards because of the coin's circular shape.
[►] Djerůn 23 Jun, 2013 @ 9:36am
"- 110 Coins (Approximate measurement)" means you "measured" the size of an ingot, calculated it's volume, "measured" the coins height and radius calculated it's volume and divided the ingots volume by the coins volume or just reestemated?
Penelope 1 Jun, 2013 @ 6:29pm
Hi, May I please request for you to make an alternate option to download where the gold for gold ingots is the 400 value of the ingot? What is available with gold coin crafting is excess gold with no work for it.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 24 Apr, 2013 @ 12:23pm
No, creating Septims is not an option.
Armorguy1 24 Apr, 2013 @ 3:56am
is it possible to make septims from gold instead of otherwise? Because i can't find the option for it.
76561198065903874 7 Dec, 2012 @ 1:42am
Ok then. So this can be a non-overlapping add-on to some other weapon/arrow smelting mod.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 6 Dec, 2012 @ 11:00am
Bitl:
I didn't add weapon smelting, same goes for arrows.
76561198065903874 5 Dec, 2012 @ 2:45am
Hi! That night be cool mod I need so much. Only 2 questions:
What about smelting arrows? What is smelting ratio? E.g. how many daggers I need for an ingot: realistic 2 daggers to 1 ingot or just 1 dagger to 1 ingot?
Thank you!
Werd Up 3 Dec, 2012 @ 4:00pm
ok thx
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 3 Dec, 2012 @ 9:07am
I see no problem with that. You can even use the files in your own mods, should you feel the need to do so.
Werd Up 1 Dec, 2012 @ 10:56pm
Hey im using this mod in a collection and you want me to take it out tell me.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 25 Aug, 2012 @ 12:06pm
@seksor
Thing is, I'm not the best with doing something like that. In fact, I have no idea how to.
However, if ANYONE knows how to do it, they may edit the file, and release it as their own mod. I don't really care.
Ð'jinn 25 Aug, 2012 @ 6:41am
This is a great idea. It falls right in line with the existing melting down of dwarven junk so it doesn't feel like cheating and you won't accidentally smelt your equipped gear like similar mods that allow melting weapons and armor. Plus all the junk I find in the world has new purpose. Nice game addition! Now if you could just limit the overwhelming list of what can be turned into an ingot to what the player actually has available and it's perfect. Perhaps a condition on each recipe checking for the item in the player's inventory first?
BananaShake [NOR] 29 Jul, 2012 @ 5:17am
This miod makes it so much harder to lvl up my smithing for some reason.
Lazlo 26 Jul, 2012 @ 8:01pm
I think Tankards are missing for Iron Ingots.
Lost puppy 29 Apr, 2012 @ 6:12pm
um i remember a mod i found a while back but it has sense fail to work actually it crashes out hard now it Vals Crafting Meltdown it did all of that you could look it up perhaps on the Nexus also could i get a link there or would steam get pissed at me looking into mods there?
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 28 Apr, 2012 @ 9:21am
Yeah, I've been trying to sort that out. Frankly, I have no idea how. There is a way to do it though.
LIBERTY PRIME 28 Apr, 2012 @ 8:31am
The only annoyance with this mod is that there is about 5000 different listings for the creation of each ingot. Other than that, its a great mod.
LIBERTY PRIME 25 Apr, 2012 @ 3:29pm
If they are compatible that would be great because Ingot recovery alows you to smelt down wepons!
R 23 Apr, 2012 @ 3:41pm
try using wrye bash for simple conflicts like that Blackbeard. In the worse case some items may appear twice, but they are the same. I once had 3 options to make torches, due to 3 or 4 mods that added torches for crafting.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 23 Apr, 2012 @ 11:11am
BLACKBEARD
Honestly, I have no idea. To some extent, it might be. I have looked at said mod, and it seems it adds some of the same recipes as this mod. Either this will mean it won't work, or it will work, and you will have double recipes(two of the same). As for the weapon smelting recipes, it should work.
LIBERTY PRIME 21 Apr, 2012 @ 5:44pm
Is this mod compatible with The Ninja!!!'s "Ingot Recovery" mod?
emma_wildcat 26 Mar, 2012 @ 3:15pm
Great work!! Thankyou. I like to smelt things ;o)
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 18 Mar, 2012 @ 5:51am
discogodofthe2ndage & N4M3Z
As much as I would like to add groups or make it so the recipes only show if you are carrying the right items, I just don't know how to do it. If anyone knows, I would add it, and as stated, proper credit will be given. I already know of a mod, which has added categories to smelting, but that mod is also adds alot to smithing, something I am not interested in adding.
N4M3Z 14 Mar, 2012 @ 3:13am
Another thing Vals mod has has been mentioned by discogodofthe2ndage, that those mods actually only show smeltable options for items you are actually carrying. Personally I would welcome if the community would converge on an ultimate smelting mod, since there is a lot of them and some are quite game-breaking (e.g. smelt septim to gold ingot that is worth more septims etc.). I think it is very important that mods like this are very well balanced and I think the best way to do this would be to integrate all those dead smelting mods out there and learn from their mistakes.
N4M3Z 14 Mar, 2012 @ 3:13am
Hello the1te. Thank you for making this mod, I think your mod is a serious competion to Vals Crafting Meltdown or Smeltdown, namely because it seems this mod is still alive. I have a few questions. Have you considered the balance, item assignment and item smelting yields in those mods? Do you have a mathematical model behind your smelting yields? Would you consider making categories like Val mod has (Steel, Iron etc.)? It is very nice when you dont have to sort through the quite large Misc menu.
discogodofthe2ndage 13 Mar, 2012 @ 4:34pm
Random thought: putting items into categories wouldn't be necessary since with the mod you can smelt just about anything. It would be simple to add the condition that the recipe only shows up if you bring at least one of the required materials, like the tanning rack.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 7 Mar, 2012 @ 12:33pm
@armando
Yes, i have fixed it, and it should be included in the next update. It's actually finished, and has been for some time.. just a little lazy here.
armando.dinorcia 4 Mar, 2012 @ 6:54am
Have you had a chance to look into the recipes that only show numbers?
Adi Tetac 2 Mar, 2012 @ 1:06pm
I must have been tired, was seeing stolen tunkards as as flagons in my inventory.
llammahed 1 Mar, 2012 @ 6:30pm
I kindof like this mod only because I am more likely to run into weapons than bowls and you currently can't smelt weapons. Well done though. It seems more realistic. For those who think this would make the smithing imballanced, the fact that I can level my smithing solely on purchasing iron ingots and leather strips and make 2000 iron daggers to 100 skill makes it already imbalanced.
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 1 Mar, 2012 @ 6:42am
@Adi
Stolen items smelt just fine, just make sure the items you try to smelt aren't wood or ceramic. And the coins required to create a gold ingot will be increased in the next version.
Adi Tetac 29 Feb, 2012 @ 10:53pm
Two things, stolen things wont smelt, and gold ingots should probally be 100 gold coins since you can make two gold rings from one ingot that can be sold for 150 gold anyway.
Axe 28 Feb, 2012 @ 7:56am
Fun but needs some tweaking - since it takes 70gold to make an ingot worth 100g - should it not be 100g for an ingot? Keep up the great work :)
HP Deskjet 5550 Black Ink 27 Feb, 2012 @ 4:15am
sounds good. but for the ability to smelt weapons. i wouldnt do it. it totally unbalances the smithing leveling.
thewickedone00 26 Feb, 2012 @ 3:55pm
it take forever to load
thewickedone00 26 Feb, 2012 @ 3:32pm
it sounds like a good idea to me cause im a thief and now i got a reason to steal more items
Double A 26 Feb, 2012 @ 2:59pm
Carl, there's a mod that does it. Think it's called expanded or improved skyforge.

Anyway, you should add a new category in the smelter for smelting junk items, preferably one for dwarven metal and another for steel. I don't like having to scroll past all the plates and things to get to iron+charcoal or the dwermer scrap to get to anything at all.
Nus 26 Feb, 2012 @ 2:29pm
you should also add a smelter to the skyforge... :)
Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus  [author] 26 Feb, 2012 @ 2:08pm
lopen139: I might release it on SkyrimNexus, without the smelter
