for anyone interested I figured why the flying dutchman doesnt work sometimes. if you place the wonder on an ocean tile before researching cartography it won't show up. so only place it on the coast unless youve got cartography down. :)

so sometimes the flying dutchman works, sometimes after completing the wonder no ship shows up. why does it not work sometimes? are there specific requirements? I have a harbor

@Shufflemoomin have you also completed walls in that city? Due to game code limitation, the pirate safe haven cannot city strike unless the city its a part of has completed walls and can also city strike.

I seem to have an odd bug in that the pirate safe haven harbour replacement gets a health bar like it had walls, but it never actually gets any city strikes. Anyone any ideas on a fix?

@KingChris, Would there be a way I would be able to expand your mod file to add a 3rd pirate leader to the faction for a personal game? I haven't created any mods before, but I have experience in visual studio and such and I think if I could start with your file as a template it'd make my task easier. :steamhappy:

hi "kingchris" i need to add your civilization in the true start location in the TOTALSLACKER "Play The World" map, i need to know your database, for example to add a GEDEMO civilization in the map its is ""CIVILIZATION_GEDEMO_TIMURID" in your case : "CIVILIZATION_......._Republic_of_Pirates"

A good fix for the bug would be to prevent the player from building the Flying Dutchman on an ocean tile, at least until Cartography is researched. Then again, why would you wait until you finish cartography before you start building the Flying Dutchman?

I think I found a bug in this mod.

Built the wonder on an ocean tile before finishing the Cartography civic. Now Flying Dutchman doesn't exist as a unit on the map. Only the tile where the wonder was built exists.

Try this one if you haven't done so yet. Been playing this mod for years now on Civ6 and I have had countless hours of fun with both leaders. Strongly recommended for looting across the oceans on Archipelago maps. Aargghh!

I had to get the flying dutchman. It's so good, I couldn't let it fall into the hands of the enemy, not when it has a place in the Modern Era (albeit vulnerable to air attacks).

On that note, Has anyone tested to see if razing the city the Flying Dutchman was built in will allow you to build the Flying Dutchman wonder and summon another Flying Dutchman?

Cool mod, I find it's balanced in its own way. Recently the mod has prevented me from loading any existing games and creating new ones. I have to unsubscribe from the mod and remove it from the game entirely in order to play it

Dude, I subscribed to this ages ago, finally started playing again with the new expansions and didn't notice you did a update. I spent a few days trying to figure out where the dutchman came from lol, wonder units are fun!

Yeah I do. I love Civ, so I've got all DLC. In Fairness, I do run umpteen mods, but this is the only one that triggers the "not compatible" load message. Others crash games occasionally, but for the most part work well. The message comes up QUICK too, like as soon as you move from game setup to game load screen, 1-2 two seconds and it's "yeah not happening, pal" so it's a major conflict more than likely with one of the other mods in use.

When I get time, I'll see if I can sort out which one, but Jesus that'll be so tedious. I think I have 9-10 pages of mods in use.

Sucks, this was one of my favorite civs to play with in R/F and I WILL get it working now.

With all mods disabled except this one and all cache folders cleared I still can't play any game: During the loading screen there's a message that the mod has failed to load and that's it... back in the main menu. :steamsad:

For me atleast, when i click it nothing happens it stays on 0 movements and invicible
