I don't fully know what you are doing but good luck.
Mod in question would be Kamaz Typhoon (currently not on the workshop for some reason). It has a default 6-pt collapsable long log trailer, but it links to the normal long logs I think. I've seen the load point section in some other mods' xml's, but haven't found the corresponding one for the Typhoon in its files.
Haven't done enough spintires/mudrunner modding to know all the stuff here, so I'm simply not really sure what's what in terms of adding new code and getting it to work.
Technically it's several xml-files. Scripting/further logic is done by the game.

I think the first problem would be the size of the 3d modell.
I don't know if you can define scaling.
You could however change the attributes and for example make medium logs have 8 points and to balance it out increase the weight. (but that's up to you)

I tried it with manual and auto loading on vanilla map and it worked, I just tried it again - still works.

On another note: I'd be interested in what it would take to add the 8pt long logs to other mods manually. I've tried some basic stuff, but it just wouldn't show up at all.
I had similar problem but I didn't knew wether it was my install - I have several versions of this mod and WIP version. XD
But now I know it's same problem in a clean install.
