Good idea. I was not even sure that we could adjust load order for mods for this game, but I will look into that now that you mention it. Thanks again for everything and good luck with your game. It looks like it has a lot of promise, and hope you guys do well making it, too.

sure thing. maybe trying changing the order of the brick mod in your mod list for the world. I have noticed that it sometimes helps.

Thanks for the link and invite and for looking into the issue, wolfgar. Might be a conflict with some other mods I am using, as the placeholder purple cube. icon shows up for some other blocks also. In the image card it appears normal and as ghosted it does too, but when you left click to place it, it shows up as a purple cube. It's a minor issue, and probably something on my end causing it. Thanks again !!! :steamhappy:

I cant seem to reproduce the issue. I unlocked all the research in creative then made it survival and the changes did not go across to test the Build. In survival mode when I destroy the stairs already placed in creative the construction model comes up. The code looks okay and when I look at the Physics in dev mod looks same as Vanilla stairs. Not sure what is happening. Could be just a random bug.

Yes it is a shame and thanks again. A few friends and I are making a game called Engineering Ages. If you want to come to check us out. https://discord.gg/9samDkS

Wow, man, I appreciate the reply. It's not such a big deal really but was just passing it on. Great mods from you, as always. Shame the game is done, as it could have been something even more amazing, especially with your mods. :steamhappy:
wolfgar7474  [author] 18 Mar, 2021 @ 11:20am
Thanks, I will take a look at it and see if I can find the problem.
The Giving One 18 Mar, 2021 @ 10:51am
wolfgar !! Another amazing mod !! The brick textures are simply beautiful and you even thought of the feature and block selection to keep the brick pattern the same when building !! Well done. I would like to ask, please, but there seems to be an issue with the red brick steps stick frame missing in the game, when you place it, as a purple box appears instead. Problem is, the box sometimes is too far underground, and you can only strike it with the hammer if you dig down, and this sometimes messes up the terrain around where you are trying to build. If it's my game issue, then forgive me and just know I was just passing it on. Thanks !!! :steamhappy:

this is a pretty solid mod, I have not heard of this problem before. there is something bugged in the world or another mod making this one crash
StyggeSteen 28 Jan, 2021 @ 4:09am
When ever my brickwall breaks the game crashes

Dr. Valgarr 1 Sep, 2019 @ 3:04am
Great work Wolfgar definitely need to be added into the base game amazing mod! Btw you know how you said "I will add blocks to this occasionaly to make it grow" xD - Does this mean we can get... "Opus vittatum" :)) also excellent work on your Opus testaceum / latericium
wolfgar7474  [author] 4 Apr, 2019 @ 9:16pm
Update- Fixed the parallax so the blocks are no longer yellow before placing.
Ace of Chips 28 Mar, 2019 @ 3:23am
These look fantastic. I don't suppose there's a brick oven in the future?
wolfgar7474  [author] 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:49am
Actually if you think you have it figured out you can tweak the stone add brick physical material physical sound and publish it all I have to do is link mod to it and the changes will apply to the mod. Honestly I have a lot of work left still on this and i dont really wanna go messing core materials and sounds. They seem buggy when you do.
Beartlaoi 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:48am
Well I feel its a bit more real to use a stronger material.
Mainly I was trying to get around some issues they introduced in the recent change, that made my favorite little-ish house not work as before.
They still have some strange issues, like with roofs and machicolations.
Beartlaoi 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:43am
The sounds appear to be defined in Definition xsi:type="MyObjectBuilder_DestructionEffectsDefinition"
I verified that a change in this does affect the sound, but I had mixed results.
wolfgar7474  [author] 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:43am
If you want stronger builds then I would suggest to rename you sbc you have back to stone and then Publish it. Then all stone buildings will be stronger.
wolfgar7474  [author] 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:40am
I tried this the problem is sound is linked with the material. Now that you made a new material how does it sound when it is struck by projectile or walked?
Beartlaoi 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:40am
There are a couple of things I noticed. I dont know if all the sounds actually transferred as sometimes I think that walking on the brick is silent. There may still be hardcoded things in vanilla that dont really understand new materials.
Also while the brick parts of the structure are more sturdy, non-brick parts are still just as weak as before so having a roof attached to the side of brick tower will usually result in destruction of the roof.
Beartlaoi 24 Mar, 2019 @ 5:35am
I opened vanilla PhysicalMaterials.sbc and copied the Definition for Subtype="Stone" (the top one). I created a new file in the mod folder called BrickPhysicalMaterial.sbc and pasted the Definition there. I also opened vanilla MaterialProperties.sbc and copied its Definition for Subtype="Stone". I renamed both to Brick then tweaked all that made sense as best as I understood it. Then in each of your block definitions I changed PhysicalMaterial to Brick.
wolfgar7474  [author] 23 Mar, 2019 @ 6:28am
@Beartlaoi you know that is a good idea. I dont know why i never thought about changing the actual physical material it pulls from. I just tried increasing integrity.
Beartlaoi 23 Mar, 2019 @ 6:06am
If you are interested, I did figure out how to add a PhysicalMaterial called Brick which made all these blocks stronger in the structure, allowing bigger taller builds.
wolfgar7474  [author] 22 Mar, 2019 @ 5:28pm
Update- Tightened up the collision on the Brick Arches.
ZipTie 20 Mar, 2019 @ 5:22pm
Thanks for the update bud!
wolfgar7474  [author] 20 Mar, 2019 @ 4:47pm
Major Update- Added parallax to all blocks. the windows and doors are new vanilla doors might need to be redone. The models are backwards from mine and it is much less problems to export them as they are.
wolfgar7474  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 9:58pm
Also big thanks to LJjack for the nice Herringbone texture. I also added a stone foundation with it.
wolfgar7474  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 9:55pm
Update. was finally able to fix compounding issues and I also added new versions of windows and doors.
wolfgar7474  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 9:19am
I spent about 12 hours trying to fix this mod and got pretty much nowhere. Sorry just dont use windows in corner. Compounding is way stupid now. Not sure is Keen is gonna look into it. Made a pretty big fit in keen discord about. Maybe it will get looked at because i am tired of trying.
Beartlaoi 4 Mar, 2019 @ 2:11pm
Another thing, if its possible. I originally tried this mod to solve a problem with the new extra sensitive structural integrity. It didn't solve it but I think I found out why. HP is not used in SI, the properties of the PhysicalMaterial are. You are using Stone as the PhysicalMaterial so it is no stronger to the structure. Is it possible to add a PhysicalMaterial?
wolfgar7474  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 9:24am
ok thanks. I will work on these today.
Beartlaoi 4 Mar, 2019 @ 7:31am
To further Zabard's finding, the Brick Window also will not combine with another Brick Window at a right angle to it so using them in a corner cannot be done yet.
wolfgar7474  [author] 2 Mar, 2019 @ 6:48am
ok thanks I will look into these.
Zabard 2 Mar, 2019 @ 6:45am
Oh, and I forgot. The brick arch full has the mesh of a full block arch, not just the wall thick full arch.
Zabard 2 Mar, 2019 @ 6:38am
Discovered a few bugs while playing on a dedicated server. The windowed wall cannot be combined with a floor. The brick pillar has the mesh placed in the opposite corner when placed. When you build it, it moves to the correct possition. The brick arch has 12000 hitpoints. I'm guessing it should be 1200.
wolfgar7474  [author] 25 Nov, 2018 @ 6:27pm
Haha, I'm right there with ya brother. I have seen some of the work so I am pretty excited myself.
Emperor_Peter 25 Nov, 2018 @ 6:26pm
Oy. Alrighttt...so now i want all those other mods and the .7 update. RIGHT. NOW. lol
wolfgar7474  [author] 25 Nov, 2018 @ 6:22pm
Aludog is working on a limestone mod. He used these blocks and added many more and retextured them. Not sure when he will release it but they will be a solid looking whitish plaster rock. I will see what he comes up with before I do anything. Also Maxwell and shad are making a gothic style mod not sure when that is gonna be released. Keen is also making new stone for next update. It is a dark grey very noce looking stone but not sure what else they are adding.
Emperor_Peter 25 Nov, 2018 @ 6:12pm
I think they look a bit awkward on the individual blocks, but once the building is done, they really finish it out nicely.

When I say windows, I don't mean glass but the actual opening in the wall - if you have the inclination of adding the arrow slit and a large square window, then this blockset can be used fro everything from teutonic strongholds (ie Marienburg castle) to renaissance palaces (hampton court)

Coincidentally, if you google "hampton court palace" that's what i have in my head when i say "larger windows"
wolfgar7474  [author] 25 Nov, 2018 @ 4:09pm
Thanks Emperor, I will look into some better windows. I was wanting to add more white style blocks to match some the of the builds I seen online but I wasnt sure how well this would go over.
Emperor_Peter 25 Nov, 2018 @ 9:23am
@wolfgar, LOVE the trim blocks, but now i wonder - would you consider making a large square window like the HGY Windows mod? The brick can take the time period later into the renaissance, but we need bigger windows to make it look realistic :)
wolfgar7474  [author] 9 Nov, 2018 @ 2:31pm
Update- Added White Brick Pillar, Window and Doorway Trim
wolfgar7474  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 11:21am
I was afraid of that. That mod was supposed to be a switch texture mod. Since you have to rename the the material itself then this wont work. I will let Angel&Marie know that mod will have to be added with a warning to not use with this. Thanks for the research and reports. Stori3d has the best fancy windows.
dwiep 7 Nov, 2018 @ 11:11am
hehe about the window i'm looking for something grander , its a castle from german knighthood ;) ,about the wrong stones appearing ,i think it has something to do with the other brick mod , i used them both and yours gave the view from angel , now i removed angel's and yours is correct now :)
wolfgar7474  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 10:42am
Dwiep If you find that let me know and thanks for the reports
wolfgar7474  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 10:41am

wolfgar7474  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 10:27am
ya sorry the one at time way is the rough way to do it but the best way
dwiep 7 Nov, 2018 @ 10:26am
