The problem with updating it (as far as I can tell) is that there's no source code for the assemblies. The assemblies need to be updated as well. I don't know how we'd get in touch with matcha to see if he has a copy somewhere, but he doesn't respond to people asking him, and he hasn't posted on the Ludeon forums since he released this two years ago.

The next question becomes, this mod has not been updated in almost a year now. Would anyone out there be willing to either take over development of the mod until the original author returns, or make a new mod that does essentially the same thing? It'd be a shame to see such a great mod die off due to the game being updated.

My absolute favorite thing I've done in Rimworld thus far was baiting a Kraken Mechanoid (from the Mechanoid's Extrordinaire) mod into rounding a corner, and eating a HEAT shell from one of these dead in the face. I sorely wish this mod was updated, so I could do some more Mech hunting.

@TheVicoryKiwi : Glad to hear you are enjoying my mod. the base model is pvpj1110 swedish RR. Your idea is very good. I don't have much imagination and I always appreciate people giving me great ideas XD. However, I want to keep my RR realistic. so may be not using charge round. it could be used with charge cannon or whatever, i'll take that idea for other turret for my future mod.
this recoilless rifle doesn't have a precision round indeed. i can make guided shell for more accurate shell for late game. it would require component to make.

Did you base the model for the recoilless rifle off of the L6 Wombat or just RRs in general?

Btw this round likely doesn't exist irl but maybe something based off of the "charge rifle" system? Like a charge round or something. Perhaps it fires faster than other rounds and/or is more accurate? Totally unnecessary considering the already wide variety of rounds but could be something fun to add if you ever feel like you want to add in some more ammo types.

if you didn't want to use uranium then probablymake it an ap shot plus an extra 25 steel or so. basically an apshot + for high velocity and is expensive to fire

Armour penetration is increased by concentrating the force of a shell into as small an area as possible, so the projectiles tend to look like giant darts. The denser the projectile, the harder the impact for a given size. DU is almost twice as dense as lead, making it highly suitable. The other metal used for anti-tank rounds is tungsten, which is also very hard and dense. When a tungsten rod strikes armour, it deforms and mushrooms, making it progressively blunter. Uranium is "pyrophoric": at the point of impact it burns away into vapour, so the projectile stays sharp. When it breaks through, the burning DU turns the inside of a vehicle into an inferno of white-hot gas and sparks.

so i geuss more damage than heat but it would need to be an expensive. I'm not sure what the cost should be.

how many uranium should be ingredient of sabot ? and how much damage should it deal ?
Currently HEAT round can take down centipede by 4 direct hits.

loving the mod so far. may i suggest a sabot round? Could use uranium and an existing ap round as the recipe. Would be an expensive but devatating round for use against the toughest opponents.

it's ironic that you're finding trouble with the HEAT rounds agaisnt tank enemies, considering that HEAT is High Explosive, Anti-Tank

Thanks for the heads up. Looking ath the history of these things I think curretn damage is balanced if you are thinking 57mm guns. Able to pack a punch and penetrate armor, but not really able to quickly disable without luck.

tank gun or big anti-tank gun i think. 88cm german flak gun is famous. 120mm cannon turret in a mod "turret collection" is very powerfull. i think its damage is over 200. you may like it.

HEAT does shred just about any other pawn though. Just doesn't do well against the tanks.

It would have to have high cost and be direct hit only so it's relatively useless against infantry. Not sure what to call it exactly...

so we need very high damage round. i think 250 damage is enough to destroy any body part in one shot.

And we are back to 20 hits with HEAT and two level 20 pawns.... Very inconstant. Seems to be an issue with the enemy not the gun though with the crazy health on the body bits. I guess the rifle is good against anything but Centipedes. Onto find an anti-tank gun mod.

I tried Ap rounds, first I could killed it with just 5,6 rounds. However, when I tried it again, it standed 11 direct hits. i think it just depends on what body part you hit.

I had two HEAT rounds hit a centipeded and damage nothing but the body rings, i believe. The overall health bar dropped to half. Strange that the damage is so spread out on your game

4 direct hits of HEAT damaged 4 different main parts of the centipede. with first, second, third and filth bodyring damaged by 45 along with 6 other parts damaged by 6 was enough to take down it.

Same Matcha. But my hits spread so wide over a centipede that it take 20-30 shots to diabale anything. Unless I get two lucky head strikes.

Sorry a bit of a math guy. Only combat mods I have are vanilla friendly: Project Armory and Project Fallout are the only big ones.PA adverts as vanila balanced and PF i just for ridiculous weapons but nothing changes how damage is processed.

What are the numbers? Again I'm gettinng 45 off direct hits on centis. That's a good comparison. You getting the same numbers?

I have tested now. It seemed 5~7 HEAT rounds were enough to take down 1 centipede.
With 6 recoilless rifles, I could kill it in a moment with 6 simultaneous fire. It maybe expensive indeed, but very strong if you have many recoilless rifles.

I also tested cluster shells against centipede. It didn't seem to be effective because of projectile scattering.
