Coming back to this I solved it way quicker and didn't find it too difficult. I really like how you move the portal so you can reopen the fizzler in the first test and use the light bridge to set up a return path in the second test .

Just played through it again, it has some pretty cool ideas.

The fact that I solved all three chambers without much difficulty despite not playing this for years is really creepy

I'm generally not a fan of multi test chambers and would probably prefer them as separate items. Regardless, I like the difficulty progression of the tests. I feel like the first one was quick and nothing too special but served nicely to boost confidence. The second chamber was really cool and I appreciated the sneaky geometry allowing you to go over a glass wall that for the longest time I thought went to the ceiling . The last chamber initially was a bit overwhelming because of its size but offered some pretty cool sequences and ended up being satisfying and not as scary as it seemed.

Room 3 blew me away a little! Took me a bit to sort it. Love the counter-intuitive sequence once you get the cube on the fizzler/stair button. Insane that in a clearly momentum heavy map, some of the flings were still quite subtle. Faved!

Nice map!

What a beast that wouldn't want to end. Great logic chamber. I already had some trouble in the first room ;D the second one was easier for me to decipher, the last one was about the same complexity, maybe a bit more, but I made it after some deep thinking.
I think this will be a favourite :neonsmile:

This chamber was amazing! Perfect difficulty for me! It was a good challenge but never a struggle. I solved it while I was taking a brief break from my computer.

Well done ELYTRON! This is definitely one of my toughest chambers. I'd love to do another collab with K7 someday!

"I'll just do one more Demon Arisen chamber"...an entire evening later: "how many rooms are there!?"

super hard, but very satisfying. Somehow I didn't crack and solved them all on my own.

No problem, it's nice to be back playing Portal again. I've played your new chambers (well, everything you've made since 2020) and have got blindruns and thoughts coming up for them. Stay tuned!
Even if this map isn't absolutely perfect, I'd say I enjoyed this one far more than some other maps that are technically "flawless" design-wise. This remains one of my favorite test chambers to this day, I rarely give anything a 9 or above so the fact that this one reached it is a testament to how talented both you and K7 Avenger are (it's sad that they haven't uploaded anything recently :/) and yet, I'd say both you and K7 have a few maps worthy of that rating.

@zigzagtenniscoe Wow, thank you for the amazing in-depth write-up! Really enjoyed reading your thoughts on this map, and I'm very glad that despite some flaws you enjoyed it. Looking back it's definitely tougher than medium! Thanks again for the review :p2cube:

Challenging map but also very satisfying when you realise what is the solution.

Love the challenge. This was satisfying to solve. Thanks so much.

very good puzzle! Its amazing how difficult a puzzle can be while only using default puzzle elements, just shows that good maps are made with good design and not weird cool features

This might be the best Portal 2 map I have played. Brilliant.
riehlguy 1 May, 2021 @ 4:11pm
This would be better if it was split up into single sections - not everyone has an hour to spend on a single level. Or if there was an alternative level set made up of the different parts? -> _GraveNOX has a fast run that's almost eight minutes - and thats knowing everything to do and doing it efficiently.

Basically, I got to part 3, and had to give up because I have other things to do. :p2cube:

Very good puzzles. Well done, and thanks. That last section for lightbridge had me thinking for a while. Thanks.

Wonderful map, loved the surprising number of flings needed for the third Big favorite
Teo 29 Apr, 2019 @ 4:52pm
Seems I never completed this one :O Definitely my new goal for tonight
wildgoosespeeder 17 Feb, 2019 @ 12:24pm
This three-part puzzle map has some solid puzzles, but I liked the second puzzle the most. It's simple in its design but puzzling enough to keep you guessing what needs to be done to get through. It uses light bridge height and advanced flings, but the final move having the light bridge be turned off, to get to the end. This kind of map design makes me yearn for the days when Mevious was more active. Some of his puzzles were made in this fashion being simple in design but requiring thought to get through it.
§am§un 10 Jan, 2019 @ 2:46pm
last chamber took me some time. cool map overll!
zigzagtenniscoe 21 Dec, 2018 @ 7:00pm
The only thing I thought kind of frustrating was that at the last steps in the 3rd room where you go through the portal in the laser section to the upmost section, I forgot to place the portal on the lightbridge wall so when I aligned the laser with the catcher using the cube, I surprisingly found a light bridge didn't appear as I thought it would. I realized I'd lost quite a bit of progress (or so I thought anyway) by forgetting this quite simple thing. Good thing I had a save backup ready. Less experienced players could have forgotten to save and would have gotten quite angry when they realized what they did wrong, and even more experienced players like me forget sometimes. Just a minor thing I thought I'd bring up as this occured right near the end of the puzzle and at least from how I seen it, unless I missed something you'd probably have to do a fair bit over again . Other than that great puzzle.
zigzagtenniscoe 21 Dec, 2018 @ 7:00pm
Great map, I found myself after the first section being like "what, another map? that must have been an intro room was fairly easy" then after the second section yet another chamber I was like "what?!!?! I thought the last chamber was the main room!!" Guess it's kinda supposed to be easy-medium-difficult, although I'd say the last more medium because although it did take a bit of thought and I was overwhelmed at the start, I got through it well. But I am glad you placed all three chambers in a single map as the other 2 teach you useful concepts for the 3rd chamber (although as another person said, they could have just as easily been their own map as well).
Dark Rozen 5 Nov, 2018 @ 4:56pm
this chamber is a bit long. ill come back to it later
TheWinrar 27 Sep, 2018 @ 12:59pm
You know it's a good puzzle when, after being stuck for fifteen straight minutes, you hammer out all the remaining moves in rapid succession.

Each of the three sections of this puzzle could have easily supported their own individual map (though placing them together was surely important given how they build on eachother).

Too long and hard. Not fun!
metadavid 22 Jun, 2018 @ 3:48am
Wow, such a long complex puzzle, your brain must be made of catacombs! mine is made of silly string. So, I battled my way to the third section, I'm still wandering lost and lonely in here......

NIIiiiiiiiiice! This map made me so happy! The puzzle is on the edge of being too complicated but that's exactly why the Aha!-moments were so powerful. I actually didn't expect it to be this long of a map but its layout is so brilliant that even though it cen get hard at times, the map always points you in the direction you need to go. I'm proud that I solved it all by myself though. I was also asking myself if the map is all beemod or if there's a touch of hammer in it, because positioning of blocks and walls in many places is nothing like in the normal puzzlemaker - it's so good!

I can write more but...there you go. I can't spend much time on Portal these days, so I'll have to wait to play your newer maps. In the meantime, I'll giver this one a favorite. Why not :)
HazieIndividual 26 May, 2018 @ 7:18pm
@Demon Arisen You're very welcome! Completely unrelated, but in one of your maps, you should use a glass floor inside geometric slopes to make a very nice looking glass rhombus in the floor, especially if you use lightstrips just beneath the floor!

@NathanMagnemite Thanks very much! :D Comments like this always make my day.

This is incredible. I'm still stuck on the last puzzle, but so far, the test chambers have been greatly decorated, designed, and executed. There are many ideas here that are staple puzzle ideas everyone should use more often. I especially love the part with the lightbridge in room 2; it was used very creatively.
SkyGlass 1 May, 2018 @ 12:58am
Enjoyable and took a whle to solve. Made a nice addition to my "Big Large Huge" collection. Thanks for the fun:)
