Anyone has any requests or suggestions for Guv's Foundation Skills for Old World Legendary Lords' 2 year anniversary the 17th of December? :) Maybe it's time to implement something new or something smaller?

Well, I have no intentions of doing that right now since they changed how Reikland Runefang works.

I made some tests to make the Beastslayer an enchanted item instead of a weapon, and success! I am going to do some balance tweaks to make the item less of a weapon and more of an enchanted item.

That's sad. I want reikland runefang battle ability and Ghal Maraz same time. I don't see the use of drakwald runefang in battle.. for me.

Well, I am planning on removing that. Since now you can simply just change reikland runefang to any other lord of your choosing. The Beastslayer however is a weapon along with Ghal Maraz, and we can't have that shit.

Hm, I have been thinking of that. To just change beastslayer's stats and give it an enchanted item slot instead.

So, a little update I found that might help you: Franz's Reikland Runefang that he gets for being an Elector Count can be given to a hero, so you may be able to just adopt this mod to go for the Drakwald Runefang that he got in its place as a quest item and let the Reikland Runefang be Franz's gift to a worthy subordinate.

But I don't know. I still feel it's awkward. Like, why would you have to deal with 3 weapons? You're going to take the one that is best anyway which should be Ghal Maraz.

I'm thinking of just changing this and alter the beast slayer instead. The beast slayer seems to be garbage in comparission. Also, the stats for the runefang are so strong. This has been a problem since it makes Ghal Maraz look bad.

Thank you. I didn't really get to use this mod before, but I was glad that someone at least tried to address it before CA made the issue worse when they really didn't need to (then again they also screwed up a bunch of other things like making the Empire's first chapter have outright impossible bonus objectives)

You could probably keep most of the original idea though; Franz doesn't get the Ghal Maraz quest until Level 14, so maybe allow him to equip the new Runefang into the Casting Item slot then the normal Elector Count-given Runefang can be allowed to become redundant, at least until CA wakes up and actually fixes this issue? Though I haven't tried modding WHII before (considering getting into it, though), so I don't know how viable that would be.

I can't replace any items. And I noticed that awkward 3 weapons now. They really don't get the issue. I will see what I can do.

I think it will remain relevant as the update has Karl Franz start with the Reikland Runefang, but now he gets a quest to get another weapon Runefang (which I assume goes in the same slot) and still has Ghal Maraz to boot.

Maybe consider just outright replacing the new Runefang with his Gromril armor or something? It doesn't really make sense for Karl to give up his title of Elector Count to some random general. I mean, if his son became an available lord late in the game then yeah it might make some sense, but as it stands Franz's redundancy just got worse, not better.

@juu13 Explain with further detail. Works fine for me. You could be using a mod that conflicts. Check your mods and make sure you're not using a mod that edits this quest item.

@Überguy I guess I see your point. However I wouldn't know how to traverse such an edit. Besides, if one compares how quest battles are handled concistently, then Reikland Runefang should be a quest. Since many other lords also have quest regarding weapons they should have obviously have had from the get go.

Not a big problem for me to be honest. Worst was how this weapon was handled along side Ghal Maraz. Because you'd 10/10 times choose Ghal Maraz over Reikland Runefang.
