And besides the link is to her cousin Neferata, the first vampire and inventor of the poison that made people to vampires. After defeating Khalida in a duel she then tried to kiss Khalida after administrating the poison to her own lips. But Asaph spared Khalida from that cursed existance of a vampire and killed her before she got the first red kiss.

almost what im looking for... is there a mod around here that simply mirrors the right side (good looking side) so we get a good looking mask that looks same on all sides?

You may want to poke around the gloss and specular files to see if anything sticks out. If I remember correctly I had to do that in order to tone down some stuff for Khalida.

Linear and sRGB both are very bright and washed out. The file in question is "tmb_khalida_body_01_diffuse" Some other people are having the same issue it seems.

I'm assuming that BC7 Fine Linear DX11 makes it worse too since usually sRGB is more vibrant?

No worries, I'm happy to help. Does the whole model appear washed out or just the sash? Because that was an area I was having difficulty with myself and is somewhat apparent in the screenshots above.

Sorry to hijack your mod thread but I appreciate the help. I am saving as a BC7 Fine sRGB DX11. The washed out textures are very easy to spot on any map. You can even see them on the campaign map since it uses the same textures.

also what map are you testing this on? Make sure you are using a WH2 map and not WH1, WH1 maps will make everything look a bit washed out and flat.

Am using Photoshop with the intel plugin I linked. I am using gemfx but I turn it off to test textures. It's specifically the diffuse I think. I reskinned Khalida and all her other .DDS look fine except she gets washed out when I try to save the diffuse.

@Meretrix what program are you using to edit textures? Also are you using any third party graphic tools such as an ENB that can be the source of the brightness?

Thank you so much for the information! I have been having many troubles trying to texture this game, never had any issues on previous TW games. Well it worked for awhile. My textures suddenly became bright again.

It depends on the texture. Usually I use Color "BC7 Fine sRGB DX11" unless I need to use the Color Alpha or Normal settings. If it's too bright maybe try "BC7 Fine Linear DX11" I've noticed that it kind of dulls the colors from the diffuse file whereas sRGB is a little more prominent

This one [software.intel.com] correct? What dds format do you save as? Most of my textures look ok but some of them are too bright (vampire heroes and Isabella)

And is it possible to tie the appearance change to unlocking a certain skill? As Khalida already has a skill that gives her the Regeneration trait, I think that'd fit perfectly.

I'll be looking into it. I replaced the head the other day just to get an idea of what it'd look like and definitely saw potential. As far as when I'd get it all done, not sure. I'm taking a break from modding for a bit. If I pull it off the only thing left from rag'n'bones Khalida would be her claw. Everything else would look normal.

Sorry currently that's impossible. Without a way to edit the mesh files I'm limited to texturing and mesh swapping.

@JFred, ok tx, I guess I should give it a try this way, I am so terrible with textures I usually simply fill with only one color. My main gripe really with modding warhammer is that there is no tool outside the game to test variants, I feel like I am spending all my time just laoding the damn game to test.
@Auriman, yep I guess it shouldn't be too hard to do, just having two variants in the mod and swaping variants a bit like mounts. And yes, it could be cool tied with this mod to a skill of Khalida.

I'll have to check out the damsel face then. For the skin I basically opened up the dark elf sorcerer texture files and used the clone tool to override the wrappings. Then I had to place the belly button, knees, and fingernails by trial and error. It was definitely a time consuming process, but I walked away learning a lot about the different textures that go into a single model. Good luck with your project!

Idea: how about making one of the Tomb King heroes to have skill that changes the model to full fleshed alive person. Like Imhotep regenerates in the Mummy? :D Just an Idea

I don't think so, first because I am way over my head, right now I have a few units and a lord (neferata with some chariots options) and the plan would be to make a faction, so i am far away from finishing it. And also because when I mod I often "steal" assets from other, more talented, people, and it would requiere an authorization from each of them... so not in a short-medium term anyway.
Yep there is quite a lot of issues with clipping, and I couldn't make khalida head invisible, but the damsel head is bigger so she can "hide" khalida's face (and the damsel textures can be edited for invisibility where needed), so I guess it should work.

Sounds interesting, are you planning on uploading it? I would be very interested in checking it out. The problem I ran into when attempting to replace Khalida's head was clipping, and couldn't use the dds to make it invisible.

Hi! Funny, I have started a new project around Lahmia, and used the dark elf sorceress body and a mixed human face to make neferata, and the result is not so different (for the body part). I have taken a look at your mod, if you wish you can actually use a damsel face and add it directly in the variantmesh (of course the damsel face would need to be retextured as they are not really pretty in the native version), part of khalida neck is still visible however, it would need to be retextured too to blend in. I have tried other faces and they do not work. I couldn't make khalida texture disappear by altering the dss, nor by modifying the rigid model with HxD... don't know if it is just me but on some models I am blocked for some reason.
