Indeed it works, needs to be activated in in-game mod menu. It doesnt work with CIV 5 environmental skin and some other graphical mods. It aint in a good shape if your modlist is growing large

It still works. Deactivate all other graphics mods, activate this one, ignore the warning and restart the game. I play in dX 12 mode. :)

Hi Kyl, could you help me and the civ community? a lot of mac users are having a graphic glitch with the fog of the war and I believe a modder could solve the problem with a mod, we believe we just need a mod that disables the outline effect of non visible tiles: https://www.reddit.com/r/civ/comments/grvy01/graphical_glitch_on_fog_of_war/

"\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Platforms\Windows\BLPs" folder.
" FOW textures, Sprites and route decal material" are the ones I replaced."

This is still working for me. It won't work with the civ 5 skin mod. But problem with small lakes can be fixed with prettier lakes mod.

This mod works but is only semi-compatible with the official Civ 5 Skin as it causes a blend of Civ 5 and 6 assets. Also strangely enough for me it caused an issue (probably with one of my other mods) where it turned on Quick Movement and Quick Combat at the end of every turn. I like Quick Movement but I hate Quick Combat.

I have tested this Mod with the Gathering Storm Exp. As stated previously you must add
<CompatibleVersions>2.0</CompatibleVersions> to the properties section of the modinfo file. It appears to be working as it was prior to the expansion dropping. All the new Terrain and features are showing up in the mid fog. So far so good.

Unfortunately the author has been offline for over a month now and has stated in previous comments that his private life has become somewhat busy, and this mod was experiencing issues before the GS update. I wouldn't expect an update any time soon!

Works well with the latest patch.
( I dont have the 2e expansion Gathering Storm installed, only the last official update )

So far the mod seems to work with Gathering Storm. Per the patch notes, "Mods can be tagged as compatible by adding "<CompatibleVersions>2.0</CompatibleVersions>" to the properties section of the modinfo".

Interested in using this mod, but it just doesn't work after subscribing for the first time. No changes to the game whatsoever.

I can't for the life of me figure out why this mod will randomely stop working. I'll run it just fine, and then when loading a save at a later date (a save that it was working on previously) the mod no longer works. The only thing I can do to get it running again is to delete my C:Documents/.../Civilization VI folder and start new game from scratch.

Thanks for doing this mod. I have spent about 2000 hours playing civ 5 and I couldn't get into civ 6 because of this annoying shroud where it is difficult to distinguish areas of terrain. Much appreciated.

No problem. I can definitely check into it. The mod will take up even more space (you can see it is already nearly a GB). Or maybe I could make a separate mod. Also been busy IRL recently and have other mods I've been trying to keep up to date, so don't expect anything like soon :)

This mod currently doesn't affect strategic view/minimap tiles.

Does it affact the minimap too? The minimap is horrible imho - its close to impossible to distinguish between explored and unexplored areas.

Thanks savoir10. Actualy I did get it working, by disabling all but this mod within Civ6 main menu, then starting a new game. After that worked, I tried to figure out which mod was incompatible by adding them back on at a time. They all worked. Weird fix, but all good now!

@ Bro : Have you tried deleting the Cache Folder and the mods.sqlite File found in My Games / Civilization VI. Sometimes things left over from old mods etc, can cause weird things to happen.

Bummer, it hasn't worked for me yet. Already tried unsubscribing, reboot, resubscribing, starting new game...Anyway, hopefully I can figure it out. I, too, was super bummed about the dead looking FOW, and haven't played it much since purchase. This strangely makes a big difference!

Thank you for making this mod why the game is not like this is crazy. The civ team talked about the map being this new great thing and i think it is one of the weaker parts of the game. Thank you for this mod!!!!!!
