Aye.
cptsavarus  [author] 22 Mar, 2019 @ 2:38pm
Haha! That was a screenshot I took for the K10 Military Transporter... but yes, basically! Nearly all the ships here connect together like that. You can assemble some pretty wacky "zoids" with them.

The Cargo Ships mod was by Glenn G. I was only just learning to mod at the time. Not sure if he still intends to update the mod with smarter AI at some point. He may be waiting for me to complete the collection or he may have lost interest.
Would be cool though, right?!
Leo_Draconus 22 Mar, 2019 @ 10:21am
Did you really just slap a bunch of your ships together a modules for the banner?

(Now I want you to put that in the mod as a random boss. the "SPRT. Military Commander"! :steamhappy:)
cptsavarus  [author] 6 Mar, 2019 @ 2:19pm
Oh, I'm sure they'd shat themselves too if they knew they were about to be eaten by a Tiger! :lunar2019grinningpig:
Leo_Draconus 6 Mar, 2019 @ 2:11pm
Don't forget the Lion and the Bear!
cptsavarus  [author] 6 Mar, 2019 @ 2:03pm
Haha! I guess I do now!
Though S.H.A.R.T feels like a weaker word somehow... like something you might do if you're feeling unwell. "Shat" has more panic behind it - like you're about to get eaten by a Tiger & need to put some real force into your pants! :lunar2019crylaughingpig:
Leo_Draconus 6 Mar, 2019 @ 1:55pm
Don't you mean S.H.A.R.T. ?
cptsavarus  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 10:43pm
That's the idea! No more sneaking in through the blind spots - if you want to capture these babies you have to fight them for it!
When the survival update comes out I'm thinking about making a mod that causes the military ships to track & chase you like the new encounters ships in the update do.
Sphincters will tighten that day. Many pants will be shat!

One look at those upgraded Pirate and Military builds and I'm intimidated.
cptsavarus  [author] 2 May, 2018 @ 12:27pm
Well before my account got vandalised I had over 50 builds published. Mostly my own original designs - a handful were redesigns of ships I found on the workshop & in exploration mode, some based loosely on ideas I'd borrowed from all over - films, games, art, etc.

I built & published every kind of thing that's at all possible to build. From the tiniest truck to a 50,000+ block shipyard. From simple ships with no moving parts to... well here's an example of one of my crazier builds, just to give you the flavour...
(No, I'm not Aaron - I designed & built the thing, he just did the video)

Yessss! That's splendid news!

What kind of other work do you have in mind, besides making awsome versions
of the KSH ships and bases? Anything from other francises?
Star Wars / Star Trek / Mass Effect / FTL maybe?

Whatever the future of EMGC holds, I'll be looking forward to it!
cptsavarus  [author] 30 Apr, 2018 @ 10:22am
@FR33KSHOW...
Hello!
Yes, I do still intend to publish new versions of all the other KSH ships, including everything you mentioned and more.
I have new versions of Big Blue and the Green Base both about 50% complete and several alternate versions of some of the cargo ships that just need polishing off.
I've also got about 30 of my own brand new, original designs very near ready & have mostly finished rebuilding all my older workshop stuff that got deleted - so lots to come - and some of it is insanely cool!

Sorry it's taking longer than I'd hoped. I haven't abandoned the game or anything - just with SE my inspiration seems to come in waves & lately I've been running low on it!
Knowing my content is being enjoyed & getting asked for more is very inspiring though, so thankyou for your comment - it'll really help spur me on!
I'll try to get something new up on the workshop for you as soon as I can.

*Tumbleweed*

Hello? Will there be any more uploads to this collection? I believe this covers all the cargo ships, But personally I'd love to see refits of the red and blue ships, the green base, the pirate bases and maybe some more stuff.

I do love every single item on this list, and I'd love to see it grow!
cptsavarus  [author] 20 Feb, 2018 @ 2:34am
Sure thing!
This is precisely the reason I don't use mods in any of my workshop builds anymore. Once upon a time I did but a few updates later they'd get broken & the build would be rendered useless. Thankfully nothing ever screwed any game files up for me but it's always a precarious path to tread, especially with anything still in development.
Hope you get it sorted anyhow. If all else fails just give your internet a talking to & do a fresh install. Good luck! :steamhappy:
CTH2004 19 Feb, 2018 @ 6:19pm
Exactly

And you're correct!

the corruption wouldn't be caused by a bad connection, however, the internet likes to mess with me (And Everyone!)!

Your second paragraph is 100% correct! and also, the corruption was most likley caused by a differnt version of the game compared to what the mods made for, internet, and maybe a few solar flares!

So, I'll just have to go and delete some folders!:steamhappy:

Eventually! (I try to do mostly vanilla, so I'll do it when I plan on installing a mod. Also, I think I know what mod it was. It literaly refuesd to load, and then I had to task manager out. I think that mod might be the culprit! Thanks
cptsavarus  [author] 19 Feb, 2018 @ 1:41pm
It all takes time to figure out but it's like anything - if you spend enough time around a thing, sooner or later you learn it.
The server thing is easy - When video games are involved, "server" can be assumed a lazy term for the digital "room" your computer connects to when you play a multiplayer game - a "server game".

As for corruption caused by mods, yes that's possible - but it'd be extremely unusual if it was caused by a bad internet connection. Data packets just dont work like that. It's actually near-impossible to corrupt data while it's in transit. The corruption happens either when it's written or when it's executed.
And don't worry about your internet not liking you - it's always wrong anyway, hadn't you heard! Hehe! :steamhappy:
CTH2004 19 Feb, 2018 @ 11:28am
Yes, i knew that. What I meant was the internet thing. Since server also refers to the computers that make up the internet. It's very confusing. It's just taht all mods here are stored on servers that are used by steam. And, since the internet doesn't like me, It has trouble lockating mods. Therefore, corruption!

Also, It's the meridius_IX One that doesn't work for me. Since his mods work, I Think that Glenn was correct, and that a mod did corrupt something. Also, proof the internet is confusing:

I got your last comment mixed up... so, yeah. The internet is complex!
cptsavarus  [author] 19 Feb, 2018 @ 12:37am
@CTH2004... A server is just a computer & all mods are downloaded through the internet - but none of that would make any difference to whether the mod worked for you or not. What I meant before was - In his comments to you, the guy who created that mod said he designed it to test his own server game (IE he is a server host) to see how many spawns his hardware & network connection (and the game itself) could keep up with before crashing. That would mean the mod was most likely published to the workshop using "online" game settings, which may be *part* of the reason it doesn't work for you in an "offline" game. Of course it's also possible that the mod never actually worked at all, even for its creator.
Best advice is if there's no description of what a mod does and you have to ask - don't try to use it, as it's probably just someone testing something that may well not work.
Hope that makes sense.
CTH2004 18 Feb, 2018 @ 11:58am
@Glenn G
Thanks!

Also, the other cargo ship mods don't work...

So, I'll have to try this!

So thanks!

Also, I have asked myself many times if it was enabled:steamhappy:
Since I typcally disable this. It wasn't, but Who knows...
Also, even if they where enabled, it still wouldn't spawn...
Thanks for your help!

@cptsavarus
It's not on a server, it's on a computer. However, I'm pretty sure the mods dowload through the internet. (Since it's stored on a server somewhere) And the internet doesn't like me for some reasone.
Glenn G 18 Feb, 2018 @ 1:53am
@CTH2004, I know this is going to sound pedantic so sorry if you already tried but have you ensured cargoships and encounters are enabled in the advanced options of your world? If you have it's possible the spawngroups or prefab files in your game have been corrupted, problably by a mod. at that point you can copy your save files and ty reinstalling the game.
cptsavarus  [author] 18 Feb, 2018 @ 12:46am
Ah, that part!
I know very little about how modding works, especially where servers are involved, so can't really help you with that - I mostly stick to building things!
Sorry to hear it's not working - but reading the mod authors comments, you should probably be grateful of that, as it sounds like the whole purpose of the mod was to annihilate sim speeds!
CTH2004 17 Feb, 2018 @ 3:30pm
The unstable, you have all ships, not meant to be used...

Insane Carog Ship Spawn rate doesn't work for me...

I still don't know why...

Probally something to do with the internet.

That's why I put that there!
cptsavarus  [author] 17 Feb, 2018 @ 8:04am
@CTH2004...
Which part?
CTH2004 17 Feb, 2018 @ 7:53am
@cptsavarus

I see what you mean!
cptsavarus  [author] 17 Feb, 2018 @ 5:26am
Also Glenn, if you want to use any of my screenshots for - I don't know - a montage or something, feel free.
cptsavarus  [author] 17 Feb, 2018 @ 5:22am
Request accepted!
I've given you a highlight & link on each of the workshop pages for these ships and added the mod to the collection.
Thanks for this - I hope you get some really good feedback from it! :steamhappy:
And now to go get me some of those ships...
Glenn G 17 Feb, 2018 @ 3:40am
Mod is complete, it can be found here EMGC Advanced Cargo Ships . I can't add you as a co-author untill you accept my friend request. Now I just need to take an awesome screen shot!
cptsavarus  [author] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 10:44am
Excellent Glenn. That hasn't taken you long!
If there's a small chance of the original ships spawning, so much the better - variety being the spice of life 'n all!

Yes, those changes are fine if that's what it takes to make it work.

I'm looking forward to seeing this...
Glenn G 16 Feb, 2018 @ 5:34am
I use the Insane Cargo Ship Spawn Rate by Meridius_IX to speed up encounters for testing only, they will have the same spawn rates as their original counterparts. I'm nearly done with the cargo ships mod though, I just need to do some playtesting to be sure it doesn't break other encounters now and that these mostly replace the originals (there will be a teeny tiny chance the originals can still spawn as I can't fully remove them). I had to make some very minor changes to the ships as they need an antenna renamed and set to spawn enemy drones and I added a beacon to those that didn't have one standard (Private sail, mining transporter and mine-layer if memory serves right.) I also needed to add uranium and ammo.
cptsavarus  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 10:34pm
@CTH2004... I already have blueprints of pretty much all the Exploration ships, so no need. Plus it doesn't look like the author of that mod actually means for anyone to download it - it's just a tool he uses for testing his server. No telling how unstable it might be for the rest of us, Thanks all the same though.
CTH2004 15 Feb, 2018 @ 6:01pm
For other ships like these, you should try Speed Up .

It's a mod to increase cargo ships spawn rate, but it actually works :steamhappy:
cptsavarus  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 8:50am
Nice! That sounds like just the right balance.
You'll have to configure all the weapon turrets mind you - In the blueprints I've deliberately turned all the target & power settings to "Off", as I know sometimes ownership can bug out & ships can start blowing the hell out of everything as soon as they're pasted into a world. Lost count how many times I had to start over with some of these ships after pasting something in & getting all my unsaved work blown to bits! It's all fun! :steamfacepalm:
Glenn G 15 Feb, 2018 @ 8:13am
Yes I was planning on leaving the weapon ranges at 600m, I was also only going to make the ships hunt a player if they are within 5 kms giving an engineer the ability to run from an encounter, After a few minutes the ships would leave the area just like the Argentavis does.
cptsavarus  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 4:18am
Yes, I'm going to remake all the pirate stuff as well - that'll form its own separate collection under a different brand name I think. Far as I know there are only 5 pirate ships, so nice quick builds. Maybe I'll do them next, since the Easy Start stuff is going to be WIP for a while.

500m sounds good - are you planning to use the same default weapons ranges as the stock cargo ships (600m)? If so that would work quite well, as the confrontation that never happens would get forced but you'd be able to escape from it if you wanted to.

For me the Argentavis is kind of creepy more than anything... it just sits there watching you...
Glenn G 15 Feb, 2018 @ 3:58am
Exactly! I was going to use a slightly tweaked version of the Argentavis script that would attempt to park the ship 500 meters away from a player instead of 3000. Speaking of the Argentavis, it is my favorite "Cargo" Ship in the game, in every play through, I just wait for one to spawn to capture and turn into my flagship, Ever consider doing an updated one?
cptsavarus  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 3:44am
Cool! Yes, from memory I get alerted & have to click something to accept. I think!

Having the military ships follow the player would indeed be extremely evil. Especially the big one! Ouch!
I'm picturing that working something like the Argentavis?
If so it's a cool idea but it probably wouldn't be for everyone.
Can I suggest 2 versions of the mod - one that just swaps the ships out & another that swaps them out and makes them follow.
That way you're appealing to everyone.
I leave it up to you though. You're the modder here - I just build stuff! :steamhappy:
Glenn G 15 Feb, 2018 @ 3:36am
I'll try to get it done this weekend, I'm going to put you down as the co-Author so I think it will alert you automatically. I was thinking of being a bit evil and adding a script to the programming blocks on the military ships to follow players. Thoughts?
cptsavarus  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 6:32am
@Glenn G... Permission very granted! I'd love to see a mod that does that! I've been asked for one but don't know how to make it myself.

Please send me a link when it's up & I'll add it to this collection.
Glenn G 14 Feb, 2018 @ 5:15am
With your permission, I'd like to make a mod to replace the current cargo ships and re-spawn ships with your models and list you as a Co-Author.
FR333KSH0W 13 Feb, 2018 @ 1:53am
Awesome! already looking forward to those!
cptsavarus  [author] 12 Feb, 2018 @ 9:27am
Yes. I'm currently still working on the Respawn ships but when those are finished I'll be doing all the ships & stations from the Easy Start scenarios. Can't say when it'll be but I'll be putting out tons of other content in the meantime.
FR333KSH0W 12 Feb, 2018 @ 8:25am
Will you also be doing the Red Ship, Blue Ship and the Green Base? I would really love to see those.
