Does it change the hitbox?
lupus_hegemonia 24 Nov, 2016 @ 2:46am
Aye,... they may look now even better (the bears), but they should be MORE dangerous - since their size became bigger.
The LOOK of them is amazing now, but the experience is the same - and with my modified/upgraded/magic (now) Elbon Great Axe of mine, they need JUST A BLOW (as the Vanilla's bears) from my top of my horse, to be killed...

i hit a bear in the air below his neck 10/10

Really well done mod, works great but makes the special kill animations look kinda weird (theres a really epic killing blow to the empty air below the bear's head) but if you're just in it for the scary bears go for it

It'd be cool if you could make them more dangerous (more damage, health, armor rating) to go along with the increased size. Just so they won't be pushovers at higher levels.
Cyclopic 24 Jul, 2013 @ 3:58am
Bears are terrifying now as they should be, excelent mod.
Tuurngait 5 Feb, 2013 @ 12:03pm
This really adds to the immersion, thank you!
Would it be possible for you to add it to the Elder Scrolls Nexus?
RJinthematrix 10 Jan, 2013 @ 8:49pm
it's too bad bears inside caves act chaotic because they don't fit inside cells but they look cool

I love Da Bears!!!

Hey, Tex. Can you add some variance to this mod, to display variance among members of different species? I suggest, for the black bears, random size between .5 and 1; for brown bears, .75 and 1.3; for polar bears, 1 to 1.5.

I think that simple variance will go a long way, in making this even better. (Feel free to vary wolves, foxes, saber cats, and the like.)

This is pretty much a requirement. Bears look awesome now!
LIBERTY PRIME 10 Jul, 2012 @ 8:39am
I no longer think of the bears that attack me as funny fluffy angry things
horusra1 9 Jul, 2012 @ 7:17pm
A lg male Kodiak Bear weighs about 800 lbs and is 5.5 ft tall at the shoulder when on all four paws, and over 10 ft tall when standing on hind legs. A lg Polar bear male weigh in at about 1500 lbs and are about 6 ft and the shoulder when on all four paws and around 12 to 13 ft tall when standing on the hind legs. GOOD MOD!!!!! Now if we could just get the damage to reflect the 5 daggers the polar bear has per paw, plus it's respective strength they'd make a formidable opponent for even the most seasoned warrior. Making each claw a different weapon for chance to hit and damage would be good.

More images of the mod in action would be nice.

thumbs up for a simple yet effective tweak to the game, bears = more scary now when stumbled across ;)
Alpharius 7 Mar, 2012 @ 12:52pm
thank you for creating this
Lukose 4 Mar, 2012 @ 2:27pm
The bears in Skyrim already are mostly bigger than bears in real life.

But still, when you see one of THESE things coming out of the woodwork, you reach for your Daedric sword instead of your bow.

Plus, bears were bigger in the times of Sabre Cats and Mammoths.
FatCat 4 Mar, 2012 @ 8:35am
First bear I ran into after subscribing to this mod was a snow bear. The new size made it seem even more fearsome =)
Tex  [author] 27 Feb, 2012 @ 8:15pm
Dani and F2Army: Scaling was previously increased at the race template level, which doesn't seem to affect hitboxes. In 1.2 I've switched over to modifying the individual NPC entries instead. I've seen this format work on Giant hitboxes, so it should work for bears, too.

It doesn't help that Bethesda's bear hitboxes are really poorly made. Not being able to headshot standing bears is a vanilla problem, unfortunately.
Ogro 27 Feb, 2012 @ 7:16am
Great mod. Yesterday a cave bear attacked and scared me. I still havent found a polar bear.. but it will be a great moment. I will prepare some stamina potions to run like a chicken

Kuma 26 Feb, 2012 @ 5:39am
Have you increased the scaling? Will the bear get a headshot by shooting into the bears chest or will it work correctly?
Remedyx 26 Feb, 2012 @ 12:38am
how to download mods ?
Timmy, Power Gamer 25 Feb, 2012 @ 11:18pm
This mod scares me. ;__;
MadamJuggernaut 21 Feb, 2012 @ 1:40pm
I always thought that if Skyrim has Megaloceros running around, the bears should also be the same size as older counterparts. :D It's sad to see the vanilla making the cats bigger than the regular bears. Some of Earth's were that big, but not all of them. Nirn is different, but in everything else it seems to follow similar fauna rules. Thanks for making this! Simple but effective.

Hopefully this helps me see them before they see me...
Ogro 20 Feb, 2012 @ 3:51am
I will try it. Thxs.
