@Walnut... as it so happens there are 2 ways. The hard way is to fart around swapping out SBC files with confusing names in your game directory. The easy way is to keep an eye on my EMGC collection - because Glenn G is creating a mod as we speak that does exactly what you ask! It's not published yet but I gather it's not far away. I'll add it to the collection as soon as it's on the workshop, so keep checking back - or hit "follow" to have it appear in your list.

is there anyway to get these ships to spawn in place of the default ships in game?

No worries - with so many names on the workshop it's easy done.
