I assume you are talking about by using RICO..? I'm an old-fashioned city builder so Idk how RICO actually recognize the different lot sizes, but what I can think of is save it as 1x3 or 1x4 for yourself and make it into RICO so everytime you plop it, you get the backyard part?
There is a backyard for it only when it spawns as 1x3 or 1x4 though

Thanks. I'm planning to make 2x2 with Yearwood Rowhouse and other 2x2 row house variations but semi-detached. I probably won't make 4x2 or r3x2 rowhouse because it just doesn't make sense (to me) when it spawns on hills. But I understand your point.
