This is one of the best things to have in your world for utility builds IMO. I do make a few personal touches to it tho. I did dirt for bottom layer instead of water, built it over the ocean. I also removed the portals, as I enjoy killing the mobs myself and the portals can cause the mobs to behave abnormally IMO. It spawns all mobs including Thing and Keepa at a steady rate. The layer of dirt I made at bottom acts as a catch for falls, I have a low grav world. Rating up! Love this

Thanks to Entuland who came to my world and took the time to explain me what was wrong.
So, basically (for future reference) :
- build the mob spawner EXACTLY in a claim, no row or column off
- do not build the level 0 (water) or build it without border (if you build it in the middle of the ocean)

Just tried to switch back to normal gravity. The small corrupted creatures keep jumping down the plateform and walk around the water. I added to TP on the water perimeter : the pigsies wakl in but the chizzards just walk around

I sent you an invite, I hope we'll have the chance to meet online :)
However, the problem solved by itself : I went traveling far, looking for canyon materials, and when I TPed back, it started spawning. I can collect up to 60 loot bags when I am around.
I saw that the corrupted creatures just jump of the plateforme and escape. Could it be linked to my "low gravity" settings ? Can I add a wall around the lower floor to prevent that without breaking your spawning machine ? Any materials ?

Anyway, thanks again for sharing this blueprint :)

Hello !
I wonder if I didn't made any mistake during the building. During the game session I started the build, I had almost immediate spawns from almost all zones (except from corruption squares, that I built later).
But since, I had 4 or 5 game sessions (during the last 7-10 days) and absolutely nothing spawned (both floors)... and I can't figure why. Any idea ?

Makes no difference, they will go in the traps no matter what. The only ones you have to kill yourself or to lure to the TP are the warmworms and the dustevils.

Almost all mobs will spawn here, and all of them will die trapped without any need to battle with them.

If I recall correctly, I didn't even put any mineral water there - corrupted mobs die in corrupted water just like all the other mobs, the mineral water only kills them quicker, but it's not really advised to mix and use mineral and corrupted together cause some mobs may get enough healing from the mineral water that they'll die way slower than they should.

This mob spawner spawns pretty much all mobs with some minor exceptions such as Corrupted Leafies.

Tell me Entu when i Build this thing. What will happen. Every Monster from Creativerse Spawn on this thing and Die Alone? or do i need to fight? Everyone know Corrupted Monsters only Die in Mineral Water or with Healing Beacons.

The checkerboard of Savannah Grass and Rocky Dirt was mainly due to the fact that only 100 blocks of Savannah Grass are necessary in a chunk to trigger the spawning - the floor of a chunk is 256 blocks, so 128 was more than enough (slightly less considering that there is a one-block gap between platforms). In addition to that, Savannah Grass didn't regrow back when I first designed it, so it was pretty precious (its gathering also caused pretty ugly landscape disruption) and was thus worth cutting on the needed amount. A full chunk of Savannah Grass will be just as good (as far as I can tell, no difference at all).

i just built this today and it works great. only real issue is that the rocky dirt will turn into Savannah grass. so i changed the center Savannah grass/rocky dirt section into just rocky dirt, didn't have time to see if that done anything for spawns though.

Forgot to say that the fences are built like that also to allow players to exit the trap if they mistakenly enter one of the TPs around the build. You can't exit one such a trap with an edge 2 blocks tall, so if someone without building rights ends up there they're likely to also die in there unless they can fly or have protection to teleport away.

The 3x3 trap solves the above as well, if you stick to just one round of fences above the water level.

Thom, the trap works fine for peaceful worlds, but for hostile ones mobs rush through the TP and exit the other side keeping their velocity.

In that case it's better to rebuild the trap as a 3x3 instead of 1x1 and put it at a corner of the central platform (or moving the ladder somewhere else).

Another thing that can happen with the 1x1 trap is that there are too many mobs there and they glitch out. The 3x3 trap solves that as well.

Also, I think the four fence posts on the killing chamber should be raised one more post to keep creatures from getting out...not always, but sometimes creatures manage to come out of it. I'm not exactly sure how, but when I raised the fence posts, they stopped getting out.

One thing I just discovered about this build--it works wonderfully in a world with Peaceful Creatures, but when they are not peaceful, using the ladder to get to the platform and being on the platform while creatures are in the chamber is very dangerous. I just discovered this and it's quite hard not to die.

I just started building this (bought the mats, found a nice spot over the ocean). I just finished putting in the corrupt blocks and started on the lava layer blocks. Nighttime, and already had a chest spawn, a thing, and several other corrupt and lava layer mobs! I'm already amazed!

@Thom Blair III: indeed, we're all forced to do so cause the largest capture block covers 63 blocks per side and they all start capturing from the middle of a side. If we had a capture block of 127 blocks per side I would have been able to capture all of this from a corner.

Hi! This is SO awesome!!! I really love it! One thing I would love to have would be the cornerstone at the corner of the blueprint so that it's easier to place right at the corner of a claim. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm guessing there is a reason that can't be done?

benjamin, you're probably not waiting enough there. Try sleeping through the night and stay there for at least a dozen minutes (would be half an in-game day or so, from dawn till some hours in the afternoon). If you're getting any other mob in the top platforms it means you've placed the whole blueprint properly and sooner or later you'll get both the Rambeaus and the Blizzard Chizzards.

Once it's built you only have to put some chests there to empty your inventory when you'll fill it due to the amount of loot you'll get from the trap in the middle of the floating red wood walls platform. You may also want a bed to skip day or night if you're interested in day / night mobs only.

@entuland I built it very very deep under the ground made sure none of the blue prints were exposed carved out the sides which is kinda easy since it was a whole square, only ran into 1 cave but it had tons of tar after cleaning I built it all then closed off the bottom ran a hall along the top of the red beam and that's really all anyone would see. You could definitely come check out my world some time if you want to see it I don't think pictures would be much help!

@Illyncia: the firerats (that someone cleverly thought about naming "Shrewdshrew") have an awful spawn rate. They should spawn on the platforms made out of Savannah Grass and Rocky Dirt. Try sleeping through the night and waiting at least five minutes before sleeping again. If you have that amount of Savannah Grass there sooner or later they'll spawn, but if you need a decent amount of them (namely to complete the quests) you'll be better going to some large savannah area :P

oh i see lol, thanks for the reply! i ended up laying out a chunk of corruption blocks on surface level for easier corruption killing XD
